This place was close to the place I was staying so I had breakfast here. The food was hot, delicious, and plentiful. The bread could have been toasted more but it was pretty good for the price. I also ordered a cupcake to try since it looked delicious on display. It was really dry and stale and left a bad feeling in my mouth and really wished I didn’t order it. The people in here were really nice.

My favorite place ever. Juice is great. Breakfast portions are huge. I love the chalupas/tostadas. So affordable.

The service is terrible — if you aren’t a «friend» they just stare past you and take someone else’s order until you shout yours– they also like to do the whole«we don’t understand English» thing, and every single thing I’ve tried is dry and gross. No thanks

The service in here is terrible and this place is super busy. I’m guessing it’s convenient for everyone since there aren’t many local bakeries around the way without having to walk far to them. Do they Settle for less because it’s close by? I think so. I made a few phone orders here for delivery because I know waiting in line can be a huge pain in the Bum. Although I call ahead, my food never arrives on time. I found hair on eggs before and I was completely disgusted! That alone was enough to make me never want to order here again. Moving on to my sons first birthday party this year, I didn’t have a cake. I searched high and low for a bakery with fresh cakes but I couldn’t find any that would make his cake within 2 weeks, so I landed here again. I went through a booklet of what appeared to be beautiful cakes and I chose the one matching his theme(Sesame Street) excited about the price and narrowing down every detail I wanted, I felt that they could get the job done. The day of the party I had the most awful looking cake in the world! The cake price was very fair $ 200 for a 3 tier cake, but if I’m paying you $ 200, I want an exceptional cake. The cake was so discolored and so ugly I couldn’t believe my eyes. With guest already at my sons party I demanded someone come and fix it or I was not paying a dime and I will trash their name through the neighborhood. You had 1 job and you mess it up? Anyway management came over to fix it and within 1 hour I had the cake o originally ordered. See the cake for yourself!

Princesa’s coffee is some of the best around. Made with steamed milk, it is flavorful and strong. I also have to recommend their breakfasts. I love the croissant sandwich. I haven’t tried their lunch/dinner meals but they also look delicious.

one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. their pastries and desserts are so cheap and so delicious. I have taken a box full of treats to dinner parties and they have always been a hit!(hipster approved) but additionally, the food is really good and cheap so my boyfriend and I often get dinner to go or even dine-in on the weekends for a no frills breakfast that feels like home. They had one of the first juice bars in the neighborhood before juicing was cool. love the staff and they even have some over the top custom cakes which I’ve never ordered but seem to be popular!

Horrible service! They ignore you when you’re trying to order. My friend ordered a #1 and they gave us a #2 instead and charged us extra for it. When we disputed the extra charge, they wouldn’t take it off our bill. They are highly disrespectful to the customers. 0 organization, do not give them your support.

OK so I came here on a whim, well on my bike. It was a hot sticky summer afternoon, after a long ride through the borough of Kings, I felt disoriented(and lost). I worked up an appetite and ended up on the Avenue of Puerto Rico, hence on a particular corner I see a bakery. Princesa is a bakery that also sells Hispanic sandwiches, and Mexican dishes. I wanted something healthy so I ordered a tuna fish sandwich. The sandwich took a little while to be prepared, but it was worth it. They chop and diced the tomatoes and onions into the tuna with mayo, between two toasty slices of freshly baked bread. I also had the morir sonando,(dying dreaming), it was perfect. A bit heavy on the ice, but overall perfection. So this Bushwick spot is really worth it. Go for a quick bite, or an espresso shot.

I come there for breakfast and everything is great and at a great price. They have an esspresso machine that makes some of the best coffee I’ve had in this neighborhood. They also make fresh juices, but make sure you know what combination you want because they don’t have a list of good combinations, they just wing it. The breakfast is also cheap, a bacon and egg sandwich on a hero was $ 3! The bread was fresh and soft as well. The workers are pretty friendly too. I give it 2 thumbs up!

The Bakery part of the name here kept me away for years. I’m no fan of sweets in the general and the muy ducle creations found South of the Border are particularly far afield of my preferred flavor palette. But this year I’m re-dedicating myself to trying some of the hole in the walls and longstanding local eateries with a few blocks of my apartment, so I went inside on a recent Sunday afternoon. I would describe the ordering system as supermarket deli minus the numbered slips of paper that keeps everyone in line. There’s a very long glass case and three or four women working behind it, running up and down taking orders as people are able to shout them out. Sweets, cakes and savories are all ordered from the same place. There’s a surprisingly deep menu of work-a-day Mexican fare, from tacos to sopes, quesadillas and breakfast foods like huveos rancheros. There’s also a selection of American food, or the kind of American selections you can find served in Mexico in a quasi-American style(the confusing by-product of centuries of cultural exchange.) I went with the enchiladas verdes, which came sides of hearty frijoles and bone-dry(that was slightly improved by mixing the salsa verde on top it and in with the beans, but still came up short). The rice appeared to be reheated or scooped from a large, too-old communal bowl, but the enchiladas were nicely flavored and scorching hot. There’s a huge turnover here, as families from nearby apartment buildings and houses came in for a snack, dessert or even an entire meal to go. The tables turned over fast, too, in more of counter style than a classic restaurant situation. Clearly there’s something about the place that people like, I’m afraid I found it just OK.

Wide jummy menu. Trying Cemita today. I asked for bacon well done to this sandwich and so happy I did. They missed the cilantro. I think the lady told me it was supposed to have it. I gotta say something, about this sandwich: When I walked in this restaurant there was a line of people waiting, good sign meaning that the food is good. I knew I was in for some great tasting experience. So what does a woman who feels empty or missing something gets? The Cemita. It is great with the bacon, add $ 1.00 for it. The bread is big and thick, no like those other sandwiches that have not enough bread to fill you in, this is a huge roll type of bread. Some nice white sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes with white cheese. For $ 6.50 is a really good deal, it was sooo big that even though it tasted great, I ended up sharing it with my dog and cat. Then, they also offer natural blend juices, but I chose to try their coffee. I am so spoiled to my own coffee that I don’t like almost no other coffee, but hey, good thing that I love to try new things, because the coffee was just RIGHT ! soft taste, real coffee taste, no the woodchip tastes of other place’s coffee. When you walk in, there is a breakfast menu on the left wall, prices are really low, so low that you can get breakfast for $ 5.00 or less, now this is my type of prices :) Then further down in the wall, there is the menu for more heavy, lunch type of meals. I will surely come back to this spot. This place gave me the«God Bless America» type of feeling, mmm…, jummy and affordable.

Leaving a better review because the place has cleaned itself up. The cheese cake with strawberries on top is pretty awesome. They are really nice about putting writing on the cake and they do not charge extra. They even accommodated my kind of silly request to have writing on top of the strawberry sauce for a birthday by placing a plastic strip on top. They have a lot of inexpensive food items. I like their breakfast sandwiches and Cuban sandwiches. The place is always pretty full and people seem to enjoy it. I agree with 3 ½ stars but since I was guilty about my 2 star review before, I bumped it up a notch. :)

David C. and I were working in the area and this appeared to be the only busy spot at about 1:30 in the afternoon. Most people both sides of the counter did not speak English so we figure it would be pretty good. The Cuban was stacked with meat and although I don’t like mustard it was odd that I did not even come with mustard. Pickles were few and far between, but that’s just fine with me. I think it’s important to mention these things as they are staples of a Cuban sub. The Cimita was nice with a half pepper on top and the avocado made it really fresh, but I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to have a shredded seasoned chicken on it… not a McChicken lookin type patty that was a bit chewy. In the end the food came out quick, we got stuffed, and for the 2 sandwiches a Jarrito’s and a Diet Coke $ 15 isn’t bad.

This place is really a 31⁄2 star or better. We got a cemita sandwich and a cubano and each of us ate half of both sandwiches. The cubano was excellent, and the cemita was solid. It was one of the busier lunch spots at 3pm, and the local crowd seemed to be enjoying their food.

I only get coffee here. The coffee is pretty good. They make it made to order, so it takes a bit for you to get it. Other than that they have pretty decent breakfast menu. If you are looking for something with like a «homestyle» breakfast. This would be the place. Nothing too fancy, but things that hit the spot like breakfast sandwiches, pancakes and platters.

I just threw up. I LIT… ERALLY saw an inch of sugar sitting at the bottom of my iced coffee. That’s a no-go.

This place serves it purpose and thats about it. It’s nothing special, but nothing to avoid either. Mediocre bake goods for a cheap price, enough said. I wouldn’t suggest going out of your way to come here, but if you live in the area and want a cheap breakfast(croissants, muffins, danishes, etc. etc.) its convenient and satisfying enough. … oh, and the empanadas are pretty good and generously stuffed with meat and cheese.
