Enjoyed my first visit here last January during my birthday celebration so a friend and I opted to try again this year. What a mistake! Admittedly, seating is «cozy» but wouldn’t be a big deal with a tasty meal. I ordered Blue Berry pancakes which would have tasted a lot better hot. Rounded out with eggs with cheese just melted on top and potatoes with no taste or imagination. Mine was the better meal compared to my friend’s scrambled eggs & cheese which were too hard and didn’t look the slightest bit tasty — and they weren’t! The whole experience was capped with poorly behaved coughing children, poor choice of music being piped in, and uninspired customer service. I now understand why there’s always a wait for Five Leaves. So disappointing-never again.

Not terrible, far from good. Service not good, food is ok, location is great. It’s kind of a shame with such a good location it should be better. I’ve only been twice and probably won’t return because I’ve never had a good experience and it’s over priced for what you get. Bette off just waiting for five leaves or really anything else in the neighborhood.

The place is pretty good: Pros: 1. The service is great– The staff is very friendly and insightful to the menu and they have great recommendations 2. The décor is pretty cool– I like the whole set up! 3. Food is Amazing!!! the dishes that i have tried so far and really liked: — The Party Ary — Lollipop Kale Salad!!! MUSTHAVE!!! — The Pepperoni Pizza– Love Pepperoni — I had a hot dog from here– I don’t know if it was seasonal or on the special but I had it once and it was amazing– Wish they would bring it back(or maybe they have it I just didn’t find it on the menu) — they make great drinks Brunch — The pancakes are very light & fluffy — Benedict bowl– DELICIOUS!!! Cons: If you come here on a light night the place is pretty dark, The candles don’t help so you have a lot of people with there phone lights on. But other then that I highly recommend coming here!!!

This place is okay. The good: Duck Fries, these are delicious! I wasn’t too interested in what made them«duck fries», but they were perfectly cooked and salted just right. They also came with a really good dipping sauce. Outdoor seating, our doggie enjoyed being able to brunch with us. We also attempted to eat at 5 leaves, but was told it would be an hour plus, so we ended up here. The not so good: Our server was somewhat overwhelmed. We had to ask for regular coffee about 3 separate times. When it finally did come, it was good. The restaurant was cash only, and she brought us the wrong change. The food took a while to come out, and the portions were small. $ 16 gets you a beet salad with chicken, but it wasn’t enough food to feel satisfied. I somehow think there’s better brunch to be had elsewhere

I just had the best burger in my entire life! It’s called the«park luncheonette burger’ This place is amazing! I’m sitting outside on the sidewalk facing the park in November. I came from Manhattan to visit friends and I’m coming back every weekend. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the people watching is better than the east village.

The pizza/salads are amazing, bar is well-stocked and cocktails are creative, atmosphere is something out of an Art Deco dream, and the location right by the park is right on. I stop by here often for coffee in the mornings on my way to work and for a drink on my way away from work – in each direction, the beverages are always strong and delicious. I have yet to try the brunch, but I am sure it measures up. Park Luncheonette has so much to offer Greenpoint… love it.

I couldn’t get into five leaves so I came here. The place is pretty cute. Beet salad: pretty good but not many beets were in this salad. It’s more of a salad with a few beets. #1 pizza: delicious

Horrible service! The worst I ever seen in my life. The pizza was good but the service was so bad that I wouldn’t ever come back. The waiters looked more interested at gossiping at the bar then serving their customers.

Had a very very nice brunch here. I had the EBLAT(?), and man was it delicious. The egg was perfect, warm yoke covered the fresh foccacia and I only couldn’t finish because I was splitting pancakes with a friend. The ricotta pancakes are amazing as well — sweet rhubarb purée and granola instead of butter and syrup is an ingenious match. Absolutely delicious. My other friend had the Benedict bowl, and I didn’t particularly enjoy my bite, but she was in love with it. Fast service, reasonable price, delicious food.

The burger was good and the bartender refunded the ATM fee… that’s where the positives end. We ordered the wings and the burger. Like I said, no complaints about the burger. The wings however are another story. I asked on the phone how many came in an order. I was told 10, we only received 8. I know sometimes it is by weight, but just tell me that! They were under sauced and covered with foliage. I ordered the wings, not the salad. The sauce to dip them in was a mustard/blue cheese/somethingorother. Not good. They only accept cash and American Express?! This is 2015, why don’t they accept all of them or none of them? Not to mention AMEX is usually the card with the highest fees for merchants. As another reviewer mentioned, with all the other good restaurants in the neighborhood that do accept cards, I will not be back.

Stopped in for dinner tonight. The bar had a few people hanging out and getting a couple of drinks, but the rest of the restaurant was empty. We seated ourselves, and our server took our order. We got the duck fries, caesar salad, and chicken sandwich. The caesar salad was overdressed and I’m pretty sure the dressing was some sort of mayonnaise base which was… unappealing. The duck fries were really tasty and had pieces of fried duck skin. The saffron aioli that came with the fries was really really good. The chicken sandwich was enormous, and the side salad that came with it was also great. The sandwich’s bread and tomato sauce really hit the spot. Now what didn’t hit the spot was the service. Since the restaurant was slow, our server seemed more interested in chatting with the bartender than clearing our table, checking in with us, or getting us our check. Once we finally got our check she told us they only accepted AMEX and cash. In a colorful neighborhood with so much good food, I’d pass on this place.

We stopped in for brunch late afternoon one day. They were out of multiple menu items but were kind enough to let my vegetarian friend invent her own breakfast sandwich with whatever they did still have left in the kitchen. Her meal hit it out of the park. But alas, the rest of us who ordered off their limited menu were totally disappointed. The food was just not good. In a neighborhood where there are so many great eating options, i would pass on the Park Luncheonette.

Driven/walked by this place countless times, always meant to drop by to give it a try. Finally did this past weekend. Very glad we did as it was one of those meals that just ticks every box and puts/leaves you in a great mood. I went there with zero expectations so maybe that helped — I had only planned on sitting for thirty minutes outside for a quick drink but decided to get some food. We had the pup with us so sat outside as there was a table available with a great view of McCarren park. Without asking one of the servers brought her out a bowl of water which was plain ol’ awesome. The meatballs were great, as was the bread served with it. The pizza(Notorious F.I.G.) was great, especially when drizzled with honey and chilli flakes that were provided. Figs really should be included as an ingredient in/on more food stuffs. The fresh ricotta doughnut holes were superb, as was the caramel sauce served alongside it. The sauce had a greenish tinge to it, but IDGAF as it was tasty as hell. We weren’t told until we tried to pay with mastercard at the end of the meal that they only accept cash or AMEX(perhaps there is a sign indoors I didn’t see?) which was mildly annoying. They do have an ATM inside though, which I would have used if I needed to. Staff were all great and very friendly.

Okay team, get yourself the Benedict bowl, it’s what I can best describe as a breakfast hug. Popped by the luncheonette On a Wednesday afternoon, sunny day, mid 60s, the kind of spring day we pine for in NYC before the dreaded Devils summer hits us with its fury. Sat outside and had a lovely relaxed lunch. I came with my sister, girlfriend, and step sister(I listed them all out because clearly that was wicked important). Our waiter was super chill, and when my sisters burger was undercooked he took it back and took it off the bill. Great customer service all around. Our food was delicious and I would definitely suggest the Grey Lady I think that’s was its called. If you can come in a week day sit outside and enjoy the park and all its splendor.

My experience there was OK. I wouldn’t deter anyone from going but I won’t be going back myself. They had lots of sandwiches and a big list of pizza. I did LIKE how you could pick any of the special topping pizzas and do half and half on one pie. The pizza was decent, nice and thin but it could have been crispier. To me it wasn’t a great pizza destination but rather a place that has lots of things as well as pizza– something for everyone. I think what killed it for me was the fact there was a very large party sitting behind me that were all over the place. People were standing up next to my table, behind me eating slices, people kept knocking into me from every which way. It seemed like the management needed to do a better job of keeping that big party in check. I will say that they were smart to split in the kitchen any dishes that seemed to be shared. For example my friend and I had ordered a salad as an app and they split it for us in the kitchen which was nice. Also they take pay pal as a form of payment which was interesting. It was a better alternative to just cash only. I would say go and try it out, make your own judgement.

Love this kind of location with a great décor, large open windows, dim lights at night, view of the park, possibility to get your coffee outside(maybe even drinks while staying close to the window?), good beer selection, nice staff, good pizzas and duck fat fries, plus the playlist is a big hit AND you can pay with paypal ! I was really surprised by this place, and I might spend wayyy more time over there! Great place.

Stopped in here for a early brunch with my girlfriend after a lazy walk through McCarren Park. They sat us right away, the servers were friendly and took our order. I ordered the breakfast BLT, and my girlfriend ordered some eggs with a side of bacon. Everything came out quickly. My EBLT(as it was called) was on a quarter of what would have otherwise been a head-sized Focaccia. The bread was amazingly fresh, the bacon was thick cut and smokey, and there was a very good aioli of some sorts going on. I will say I was somewhat disappointed with my potatoes that came as a side. They were very oily and under cooked. The space itself was airy, with lots of windows open and brightly lit. We got there early, but I can imagine by noon it would have been quite packed and there were lots of kids running around. I will definitely be back for a no-nonsense brunch near the park on a nice day.

Diner food taken up a couple notches. I wish they extended the breakfast menu later in the day on the weekends, but enjoyed sharing a mid-afternoon snack of duck fat fries and brussell sprouts w/pork rinds. Note the peculiar payment options(cash, AmEx or PayPal).

Park Luncheonette does ambience/setting/décor very well, albeit unoriginal(in fact it’s almost a cookie cutter of neighbor Five Leaves’ interior – tiled floor, mirrors, pressed tin ceiling, vintage/rustic bathroom). The service was also fine, but the food was average/mediocre at best. i had a Bloody Mary which was fine/standard. I did appreciate the pickle spear as I was very hungry. My caesar salad, though, was bizarre – I feel like I could have gone to Key Foods, purchased store brand ingredients, and made the same salad. The dressing tasted bottled, and was just drizzled over a romaine heart, with some croutons. I paid $ 2 for bacon, and expected to get like a strip, or substantial bacon. Instead it was bacon bits. The location is great, and they are very well set-up to deal with people who don’t want to wait 2 hrs to eat at Five Leaves, but they are going to have to improve some of their brunch items(for what it’s worth, my friend liked her fried eggs).
