Just wanted to post in case anyone else was looking for her!

So happy to have found Dez right in my neighborhood when I moved to Brooklyn this past summer. Great to have a queer barber who also has an organizing background. And Nelson and the whole place is cool too — good vibe.

Great little barber ship with a super friendly vibe. Dez has been cutting my hair for the last year and I’ve been very satisfied. If you’re looking for a queer barber for your queer hair, this is the place!

Second time getting a haircut hair and I was blown away with the perfection one of the barber’s did. Nelson was busy doing a cut so I went to a Spanish looking guy, when you walk in, he’s to the end of the right side near the mirror and he did a phenomenal job. I tried some barbershops on Flatbush Ave. and they either messed up my hairline, lacked attention to detail, or a particular shop, Dr Cutz, a guy w dreads gave me a serious infection on my neck that lasted for 3 weeks. It was so bad I had to wear turtle necks. These guys are amazing. I don’t see me going to no one else. I get exactly what I want, and he does such a perfect, perfect job. My hairline is sharp all around. Theirs absolutely not one flaw in the cut, these guys truly take their time, and I get exactly what I want. These guys are truly professional. My mother complimented my haircut like never before. These guys are my permanent go to and recommendation for getting a haircut.

Nelson is my barber amazing person & it’s only surpassed by his skills as a barber. Get conversation at the show great people overall.

Nelson is a cool cat! Would recommend anyone nearby to make sure to come to this shop.

Went to see Dez bc I wanted a design on the side of my hair, and my hairdresser of many years told me she didn’t have the skills to do that. I had a wedding coming up and I wanted to have great hair to go along with my genderfabulous outfit. Dez wowed me with incredible razor-​cut skills, I got a triangular arrow pattern, and Dez even cut the hairs in each layer of the arrows to a slightly different length so that it looked like the arrow was shaded with different hues of my brown hair. FANTASTIC. Besides the cut, I had a great time chatting and connecting with Dez about activism and social justice. Thanks again, Dez!

I’m a girl with short hair and I go see Dez at Nelsons. She does a fantastic job every time. The prices are very affordable too. Super happy to have found someone so good in my neighborhood. Highly recommend her, especially if you’re looking for a queer cut or just an affordable queer hairstylist.

I’ve been going to Nelson’s Barbershop for the last 25 years. He is great with toddlers and little kids. Nelson has a good heart and warm spirit about him. He makes everyone feels welcome at his barbershop. The rest of the guys are okay. .. let me stop! *LOL* You would be satisfied with any of the gentlemen that works at Nelson’s Barbershop!

Awesome Barber shop. All the barbers are cool and in control of what they do. There very funny and have a great relationship with eachother I. peraonally go to see Alex but IM not opposed to seeing the other guys if I had to I’ve seen there work and it’s top class. I personally am also a hairstylist so IM a bit of a judgemental asshole when it comes to salons or barbershop this place is a nice brooklyn barbershop exposed brick and a big ass TV always playing random stuff. I always see kids and women there so it’s not a very vulgar environment. Also I think on Friday there’s a really beautiful women there doing mini facials which I also recommend I know there a small fee of like 5 dollars I think… but it’s worth it.

Top flight barbershop — I’ve used Jamel and Nelson and they’re both professionals! I recommend calling in advance to make sure they’re not jammed up

I’ve been going here for about 3 years and it has been the great. The barbers are cool, respectful and there’s always people laughing and enjoying the general relaxed atmosphere.
