My Sweet Brigadeiro

I don’t have much of sweet tooth, but these were delicious. The brigadeiros had great texture and had bold intense flavor. Very true to the Brazilian roots they were modeled after.

This place doesnt exist. They don’t have a store. They are selling at whole foods. It doesn’t taste like a good brigadeiri. Also its expensive.

Their excellent product is featured yet underrepresented in Haagen-​Dazs’ Artisanal Collection flavor of a similar name, so we used the Unilocal checkin offer for an order of the real goods. BTW this is whole foods tribeca, not u square or battery park

My wife and I decided to take a trip to New York and give this place a shot after trying My Sweet Brigadeiro’s Haagen-​Dazs Tres Leches Brigadeiro Ice Cream because my wife was born in Brasil and knows what good brigadeiro is.
We used Unilocal to help us find this place and it brought us to the address listed… it was NOT My Sweet Brigadeiro, it was a market which does not even sell the product. We went to her website and it listed her products being sold at a nearby Whole Foods, which was a short walk. After asking a couple people we found her product near the bakery section in the refrigerator. My wife was so excited to find the brigadeiro because she has not been back to Brasil for some time and wanted one of her favorite treats.
After reading some other reviews, we realized that we overpaid for the product, there was 8 of them, and some people said they paid $ 7.00, and this was $ 14.99. After all, the creator did sell out… which is a huge disappointment to both my wife and I. Does nobody have passion for what they started?
Enough of that… After all was said and done, her brigadeiro sucked. The texture wasn’t there, the flavor wasn’t there, and it did not feel like authentic brigadeiro, just some Americanized sweet load of crap. Needless to say, we will no longer be seeking anything from this company, and are extremely disappointed. We did have a good time the rest of the day in the city, so the trip wasn’t a complete waste.

I followed this address thinking it was a shop — it is actually a whole foods. The box of 8 set me back $ 16 plus dollars. I thought it was pricey for the size of the brigadeiros. They are delicious nonetheless… I took a look online to see how I can order and found out they are actually more expensive online than at the whole foods.

I ordered brigadeiros online as a birthday present for my brother who had just returned from two years in Brazil. He loved them – said the packaging was great and the brigadeiros were delicious.

Yummy! I had never heard of brigadeiros before, but a friend brought them to a party. I won’t say how many I ate, but suffice to say it was enough to know that I liked all the flavors they brought. And they make a great host/​ess gift.

I love the B&W crunches. If you love sweets, you’ll love these things. Rumor has it that they are coming out with a praline pop-​rock encrusted brigadeiro — I can’t wait!!!
