Their sauces taste like they came from a jar. Terrible.

Amazing Seafood paella. Large portions. Can get crowded and very loud, but overall, an excellent dinner spot.

This place came highly recommended by a friend so I came here on a double date. I loved the décor of this place. It can be romantic for date nights or just a nice night out with friends. The service was really good, our waiter was amazing! The four of us split a bunch of things from the menu and not one dish disappointed us. My favorite were the oysters and clams. Everything was fresh tasting and good! I plan to continue coming back to this restaurant.

A good friend recommended to come here for dinner. It was very cold inside just like the outside. Service was good, they were attentive and friendly. Food was above average, the paella was the reason I give 3 stars, because I had way better at other places.

Had a friend rave about the mussels here so after seeing the Dyker Heights Christmas lights we drove down to Bay ridge to have some mussels. It was early and the place was pretty empty. The staff were nice and sat us by the window. We ordered the baked clams and the crab cakes for appetizers. The baked clams were a bit burned for my taste but my bf liked it. The last piece I bit into tasted gross… like it was overcooked and piece of rubber. I spit it out in the napkin right away. The crab cakes were definitely not worth it… definitely frozen or from a can. For the mussels, we decided on two different ones. The classic with white wine and the fra Diavolo which is a bit spicy. The mussels itself were pretty small but tasty. The classic tasted pretty watery. The fra diavolo was good and spicy, tons of flavor. Next time I go back if we do, will probably be only to try the other flavors for the mussels. I heard the Maine lobster one was good.

Was a little confused about their organization. The bar area is up front. Have to walk towards the back along a narrow hallway to the main dining area. The tables and seating area looked nice and comfortable, but the kitchen area kind of just ruined the whole image. The shelves and the kitchen area looked old and not renovated compared to the bar and dining area. The prices on their website is wrong as other people have mentioned. Had their baked clams, half rack of ribs with mac n cheese, and bisque mussel pot. The baked clams u could probably skip. Wasn’t so good and a little salty. The bisque mussel pot was ok. Wasn’t as good as other places I have tried. Mussels were a little on the small side. A decent amount of lobster pieces. The complimentary bread that is given for dipping in the mussel sauce was one of the worse bread I seen in a restaurant. It was cold, hard, and kind of stale. The ribs were kind of a surprise. It was the best dish of the night. The ribs were a little crispy and falls right off the bone. Tasted better than a bbq place. The mac n cheese was also pretty good. Overall, the service was really good and attentive. The mussels were disappointing. Kind of pricey for the quality of the food.

I was a bit thrown off by the Unilocal reviews and the photo of the moldy bread(yuck), but it didn’t stop me from going to Mussels & More(mostly because I love mussels and this place is a dream and I’m also not a fan of bread). Their prices online are wrong(convincing me that I could get a heaping of mussels for less than $ 15, also a dream), but probably regular price for the amount they give you. There’s a bar area and a large dining room in the back. It filled up quickly around 8pm on a Saturday night. As for parking, there probably is none unless you get in on the side streets. Anyway, our waitress was super nice, we had a bucket of bread and some pickled red pepper I believe — it’s similar to that Indian sauce you get with roti. Avoided the bread, and headed straight for the mussels. We had the Maine and the Bisque and let me tell ya, if you don’t like food to consistently taste the same all through out, do not come to a mussel place. Or order mussels anywhere because that is all it will taste like. The bisque is exactly like a lobster bisque — the bread might come in handy here. There’s a lot of lobster claws too. And the Maine, oh gosh — lobster and bacon? Yum. The bacon got kind of soggy(expected) but the lobster claws were generous — at least 6 in there. And of course, tons of mussels flavored in a nice creamy, parsley broth. So good. And yes, I guarantee you that one order is enough to make you full.

I’ve been here a few times and enjoyed their mussels. I think I enjoyed the broth more than the mussels itself due to size of it. It’s not exactly that big. All the other food here is pretty basic. I don’t find this place to be ludicrously great either. It’s a very local place for people to have a nice dinner and brunch.

We’ve been wanting to explore more of Bay Ridge so we decided to check out Mussels & More on a Sunday evening. Upon walking in we thought we were at the wrong place. The dining area is towards the back past the bar. Our server was super friendly and attentive. She quickly took out drink orders and answered questions about the menu. The ambiance was clean and sleek. With the wall full of floor to ceiling Windows a lot of natural light came in which was really nice. Fresh bread was brought to the table while we waited for our food. It came along with some type of tomato based spread that we were not fans of. It truly lacked flavor. I ordered the fish and chips with a Caesar salad. Everything tasted good but not overwhelming delicious. My boyfriend ordered Thai flavored mussels. I tried a few and they were delicious. I’m slightly ashamed to say that was my 1st time having mussels but at least now I know that I like them. Overall we enjoyed the experience. We’d definitely return and try more mussels!

I love their mussels it’s a must get if you ever go. I believe I had the Maine lobster mussels, the broth was really creamy and it had a lot of flavor. It is a decent amount for a group of 4 to share. They have seating in the back and outside. They also provide a bar for drinks. I’ve tried their NY strip steak and their filet mignon. I definitely prefer the NY strip steak because it has more flavor. I like my streak to be cooked medium well, so I would request my steak to be called medium rare just in case they over cook it. My husband had their sea bass and he really liked it. They don’t have valet parking so if you are planning to drive here, parking might be a bitch. If you are not lucky enough you might end up looking for a spot at least 30 minutes because it is located around other restaurants and bars especially on Thursdays and weekends.

The mussels varied in size each time I visited. Sometimes, they were decently sized, and other times they were super tiny. However, they have delicious flavors to choose from. The mussels are $ 11.50−14.50. The Grilled Octopus was very tender, almost like eating a soft piece of chicken. It was kind of pricey for just one tentacle though.($ 12) The Chocolate Mousse Cake was heavenly!($ 10)

I had the mussels in lobster sauce it was delicious. Fur dinner I had the linguini fra diablo which was lovely. It had a spicy kick to it. It was the first time I had pasta in a while ago I couldn’t eat it all. They give you large portions of food. Annie our server was very polite and her recommendations were spot on. Looking forward to coming back.

I’ve never really visited any seafood restaurants in New York City and I think it’s because I assume that the seafood isn’t fresh, overpriced, and not delicious — but that all changed when I visited Mussels & More. I came here on a Wednesday evening with my boyfriend and friends and was surprised that even during the middle of the week there were families having family dinner here. The front of the restaurant is where the large bar is and in the back is where the dining room is. I like that Mussels & More is spacious, comfortable, cozy, and dim-lit. The staff here are pretty on point as well. The portions for the entrees are pretty humongous! We started off with some drinks and proceeded to order. We had three appetizers, three entrees, and two pots of mussels. We ordered the following Baked Clams — The pictures that were posted on Unilocal looked amazing and I am quite a huge fan of clams so I knew instantly we had to order it. The waiter recommended that I get it with breading and so I took his recommendation. The baked clams were sensational, moist, and on point! Grilled Octopus — I heard mixed reviews about this on Unilocal, but my friends wanted to try it and so we did. The grilled octopus looked amazing. I was so afraid the texture would be like hard rubber, but thankfully it wasn’t. It was really a delight to eat! Saganaki — I never had this before, but I just recently learned that it is a Greek dish. The traditional kefalograviera cheese is pan-fried and served over a slice of tomatoes. This was definitely a different and new dish to try. I never had cheese pan-fried before. It was really moist and savory! Shrimp scampi served over linguine — Our friend ordered this and shared some with us. There was definitely A LOT of garlic and I do mean A LOT. The shrimps were really tender and plump. This was overall a tasty dish. Lobster ravioli — My boyfriend ordered this because he is crazy about lobster ravioli. I tried it and really liked it. It was moist, delicious, and possibly one of the best lobster raviolis I’ve had so far. I liked the sauce very much, had a touch of sweetness to it from the lobster meat. Angel hair seafood pasta with white wine sauce — This was truly a seafood medley and a serious hefty dish! There was a variety of seafood — shrimp, calamari, mussels, scallop, and clams. The white wine sauce was exquisite and all of the seafood were really tender and delicious. Maine Mussels(lobster, smoked bacon, chowder, and parsley) — My boyfriend and I ordered these mussels. I was so happy to see how much mussels they gave us. The Maine mussels were on point! They were moist, full of deliciousness, and amazing! Fungi Mussels(wild mushrooms, double-smoked bacon, garlic and cream) — Our friends ordered this and shared it with us. These mussels were spot on as well and just as delicious as ours. I think our only dislike about the mussels is that we couldn’t taste the juices of mushrooms or lobster which is really is the second star to the dish. All we tasted was nothing but bacon and cream. I wished we could have gotten more of the juices of the lobster and mushrooms, but other than that we really enjoyed the mussels. I really enjoyed our experience and the food here. Everything was really top notch and Mussels & More is a true gem! I am planning to return here again since in my opinion summer time is the BEST time to enjoy seafood. Next time, I plan to try the Bisque mussels, Pesto mussels, and maybe even crab cakes. I’m glad this restaurant changed my opinion about eating seafood in the summer in New York City. *Note: We learned that even in a group as small as four people, you don’t need to order three entrees because they are extremely huge and filling.*

I usually go to Flex mussels, located in the city, to cure my mussels cravings but now I don’t have to trek all the way there! We ordered thai mussels, red snapper, oysters, and their fish and chips. The oysters were very fresh and there seafood was cooked perfectly. I wish they expanded their desert menu but other than that the dinner that I had there was very good. Service was quick and efficient. I would recommend anyone to try this place out if they love mussels and seafood.

We walked in on an extremely low-staffed restaurant not being hosted the second we walked in, we did not know what to expect. After a good walk through of the restaurant, we were finally seated! Yay! We were also served w/a free basket of bread and tomato sauce! Double yay! I was impressed by how many choices given on the menu! We started off w/some amazing appetizers: Berry salad, Maine Mussels, and Baked Clams. SO. GOOD. The dressing for the salad was raspberry vinaigrette and it did not disappoint my acidic-oriented taste buds. The mussels were plentiful and succulent! I was more happy about the crème than the mussels b/c it was just the right seasoning on the herbs and consistency! We ordered a lot of bread for the dipping. Baked clams were a little chewy but good when doused w/the sauce and lemon juice. *salivating* I ordered Seafood Paella, and the first thing my nose sensed was RICE. Not the spice or love but the rice. It wasn’t that good b/c it was lacking seasoning but I drenched it w/mussel crème and lemon juice. ONPOINT! I love the portions. SO worth the money. I don’t even care if I didn’t finish b/c they’re willing to bag it up. EVEN the crème from mussels and the bread!

I went here for dinner with my friend on a weeknight. They have a bar in the front of the restaurant, and the tables are in the back. We ordered a bunch of things and shared them all. First we had the italiano style mussels. They were in sauce with calamari. Those were very good. We also had some spinach pies with feta cheese, which were ok and a seafood salad. The seafood salad was served over lettuce. We also had paella, which had seafood and chorizo in it. This was my favorite dish, it was very good. Then for dessert we had a pistachio tartufo. Overall, I liked this restaurant and would return if in the area.

My dad wanted to try something new so I suggested mussels and more. I recommend the mussels, he said it reminded him of his trip in Europe with my brother last year. We ordereded the«Maine Mussels» and the broth was rich, creamy, herby and delicious. There were chucks of lobster and bacon. We asked for more bread to drip it in the broth. * if you want to take the broth to go, you can ask to pack it up*

*located at the corner of a residential neighborhood. *family friendly, casual atmosphere, but also nice to bring a date! *Must Try: Mussels in Classic Sauce. You get a whole pot of mussels for $ 14! *Baked Clams are delicious. There are 6 per order. *Main entrees are huge. You will get a whole fish if you order sea bass. I got the marinated skirt steak and had a full plate along with mashed potatoes and veggies. I asked for medium but it was more well done. Still delicious and the whole thing was devoured. It was a bit salty though from the sauce, but not too overwhelming.

Why didn’t I come sooner?! I personally love mussels and when my sister came here two years ago with coworkers, she had to tell me. It took me this long to finally come get my hands on a pot! They have a bar at the front, go towards the far right, walk through the little hall and you’ll find the dining area. I came here for lunch earlier today, ordered some stuff from the lunch menu. Of course, I made sure I put the in order for their Classic Mussels first before anything else, just in case I forget what I came here for. I was just excited. Isn’t it the cutest pot, ever? The pot is served with the lid on, open it and it lays flat on the table, perfect for shells, smart! The steam fogging up the window, the smell of the broth… digging in! The mussels plus the aromatics were just delicious, I even used the shells to scoop up some broth to sip. Unfortunately, there were 2 – 3 in there that weren’t cleaned well, found the beards in ‘em, it happens. The Seafood Soup was actually the soup of the day, lots of seafood including calamari, salmon, and veggies. I requested my Grilled Salmon to be cooked well, the fish came perfectly seasoned, cooked well yet not overly done, moist and juicy, the side of roasted potatoes on the dish were seasoned well. Another dish that is a must have would be the Seafood Paella, from the fluffy rice, green and red peppers, to the shrimp, calamari, and mussels… lots of mussels on the table today, excellent dish, extremely flavorful. One more plate that needs to be on your table should be the Sweet Potato Fries! Crispy outside, fluffy inside, finished off by tossing them in cinnamon sugar… Yes, cinnamon sugar. Served with honey mustard, and I must say, they paired perfectly, best fries I have ever encountered. While waiting for your order, you smell the food being cooked in their opened kitchen. The ambience felt relaxing, the brick walls were rustic, the large windows and table setting made it somewhat elegant. A place like this is worth the trip, and somewhere where I will be coming again and again.
