Known Ali for most of my life I’m 33 yrs old now but when ever I have a sweet tooth or just in the mood for something sweet i always go to him my favorite is the pistachio ice cream or vanilla cone with peanuts sprinkled all over Ali is a great guy very caring, respectful, and always honest

This Mister Softee truck has come to the same corner at Newkirk and Coney Island Avenues next to the PS 217 playground for over 25 years. In fact many of the current customers who bring their children literally grew up on his ices, milk shakes, slush and soft serve ice cream. In recent years he has added hard ice cream in such favors as pistachio, coffee, rum raisin and cookies & cream. Ever mindful of his customers’wallets, he has kept his prices very reasonable. Soft serve is $ 2/​cone, Mariano ices are $ 1.00, slush $ 1.25 and hard ice cream is $ 2 for one scoop and $ 2.75 for two scoops. And he has done so without cutting costs by reducing the quality of what he sells! For those who observe, his soft serve is Kosher… Actually it’s also Kosher for those who don’t observe!
But what makes this truck special is that Ali takes the time to learn the neighborhood kids’ names and politely addresses the ones he does not know by name as «young lady» and «young man.» His is a truck that offers a lot more than ice cream in good will and honesty!
