I was super stoked for this place to open. When it did, I suggested to my friend that we should stop by. She refused, citing that half the patrons look to be an average age of 82. I ditched her and found a more adventurous friend to roll through with. I’m a big fan. This is a place with a much more a-hem, «mature» crowd. I’m okay with that. When I don’t want to venture far and I just wanna sip on something this place has what I need. Nice patrons. Nice bartenders. A few TVs. Sometimes they have a deejay. I’m a happy gal. My last visit I had fries and wings which were tasty and reasonable. I haven’t had any traditional Panamanian dishes which I’m not really sure they offer. If you’re looking for a place to chill and relax then this is your place. Geat grand parents included.

So we are a family of 5 visiting Brooklyn doing all the tourist stuff. We are on our way back home in Kingston Ave and we are hungry, desiring a good meal and not some pizza parlor. So I find this place on Unilocal since its was a 4.5 star rating I thought of going in. The title said Restaurant & Bar, but once inside, I felt it was a mistake since it looked more like a bar and less like a restaurant. I am greeted by Derick, and tells me that everything is made to order. So voice inside my head says«oh man, this is a mistake, now its going to take an hour to get food» Then came Georgina — or simply Gina. She had 3 items on menu, Red snapper, Shrimps and Pork chops. So we ordered a snapper and a pork chop and 3 plates of shrimp(Check photos) To much of our delight, all 5 dishes were tabled in 30 mins flat! Not only that its one of the amazing meals we had in a long long time. The food was simply AWESOME! Gina is such a fun host. She gave us home made fresh Salad — it was simply out of the world. My dad loved the red snapper, and Gina realizing that we are from India and have a taste for spice, quickly assembled lemon and some herbal spices for the snapper — needless to say my Dad loved it! The pork chops that my wife ordered were seasoned over night, the onions over the chops were simply delicious. The shrimp and rice were pretty good too. Now the best part, the bill for 5 dishes was $ 70 only! I mean are you kidding me? AWESOME food at dirt CHEAP prices, and such a hospitable host. This can be the best kept secrets of Brooklyn. Come here for amazing food, value for money, Derick and Gina — and her master chief style cooking. Highly recommended. Thank you Unilocal!you pointed in the right direction :)

Finally made it to this place. Decent beers. Dope and really warm ambiance and vibe. Super unpretentious. Really affordable. Twenty somethings and older neighborhood regulars shimmying to calypso and reggae. They had West Indian food but I didn’t get to try any. maybe next time. I’ll mos def be back.

I went there on a Saturday night. The place was hosting several birthday parties. The drinks were great, and affordable, and they had free Panamanian food. The music were a mixture of caribbean, Panamanian reggae, and latin music. The DJ was great, and the crowd was a mature upbeat crowd. I would definitely be going back.

I’ve been waiting for this bar to open for quite some time. They were doing work for months before it finally opened. I’m a fan of local watering holes and this may fit the criteria just fine. Everyone needs a «Cheers». The décor is pretty dark but don’t let that dissuade you. The bartender was friendly and they offer a full bar with lots of options. While I was there they mentioned that they will be offering food within the next few weeks, which is a bonus. The drinks were really affordable. Possibly $ 5-$ 6 for mixed drinks. Definitely worth stopping by on your way home from the train station when you’re looking forward to having a drink and taking the edge off from your long day. I was there on a weekday so they closed around 1 am but the owner mentioned that they stay open later on weekends. I’ll be back.
