I needed work done on my beautiful car; Coco. Yeah, that’s her name — Coco. So I had an auto collision early July which unfortunately resulted in my front left sensor being damaged. That in turn resulted in a more challenging/​frustrating (parallel)parking process since then.
Well, I made it through these past few months, however upon getting my vehicle repaired, my sensor was not. Don’t ask why. It’s what I get for going to a bullsh** shop I was referred to by a female «friend». So during a routine dealer visit for my front brakes, I requested the dealer check what was up in which I was then made aware which sensor was damaged. The dealer charged me $ 200 just to take off my bumper and check that out according to them what they told me of course. I inquired how much would it be to have it fully repaired and I was informed an additional $ 600 which would be a total of $ 800. I’m not the heir of celeb du jour; Donald Trump so the quote I received was perceived as absurd to say the least.
Fortunately for me however, I have a good pal by the name of Kashif who works at an autobody shop located in Brooklyn, NY by the name of Magicman Customs. I took his word for it that he’d get the job done for me sans all the bullsh** including, but not limited to the dealer’s highway robbery quote for the overall repair. On a Saturday afternoon, I came to Magicman Customs and Kashif informed me the total would be (an amazingly less) $ 300 which included labor and the part itself. Yes, that’s literally a total of $ 500 less than my beloved Rallye dealership charged me.
Kashif not only did an amazingly efficient job on my vehicle, he didn’t even have to take off the bumper to replace the sensor. Post speedy replacement/​repair of my sensor, he then took the initiative to throw compound on my hood and wax it down for a nice shine. I was beyond gratified that my sensor was working again. Kashif then touched up trouble areas and threw on some touch up paint on the bumper as well.
All in all I totally felt the need to write a review for this shop and I honestly believe I’ve found a new home in Magicman Customs as my personal body shop. It also helps that I found it super cool the owner of the body shop is a former two time boxing champion! A worthy fun fact if I ever knew one!
I also thought it was cool that posted on the door of his office is a printed and magnified 5star rating for the shop via Unilocal as a badge of honor. I found that interesting, but not more interesting than my findings of only one review being written for the shop. Haha. I said well, let me throw one in there to further solidify their very much deserved 5stars! If you reside in Brooklyn or not too far away and have issues with your vehicle, don’t make a dreaded mistake in paying your dealer or some Joe Schmoe a visit. Come to Magicman Customs where everyone else brings their expensive foreign cars to be repaired and or customized. I can’t guarantee you’ll receive the same special treatment I did, however I’m willing to bet you won’t leave dissatisfied! Kudos to the owner Paulie Malignaggi; the Champ and his staff including, but certainly not limited to Mr. Kashif! In the famed cliché words of Arnold, «I’ll be back!»
