Little Scholars II

I must say that I’m extremely disappointed with this organization as a whole. My child’s «teacher» is Dawn. Dawn and who ever else plans the learning assignments for children of the ages 2 – 3 are Delusional such so that it’s scary. First of all I picked my child up early 2 weeks ago during lunch time so I decided to wait till after lunch and just quietly observe them interact amongst one another. They were in the process of washing their hands, the manner Dawn spoke to these children which my child must of washed their hands before I got there or I would of definitely approached management about it, was just horrible. She was very abrasive with the 2 – 3 yr old children saying Hurry wash your hands then looked at them very mean, there was a little blond boy who you could see the fear in his eyes. It was so sad because no parent wants that.
As I am leaving Dawn tells me about a show and to bring in a bear for a project, she gives me paper work and also tells me to get a bell for the show, I was excited to hear that they would be performing in a Christmas show, then she says the children are cute they are doing jiggle bells and a few Russian songs for the show. I understand that little scholars is located next to Brighton beach which has a large Russian, Uzbek,
Kazakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolian community but there are also many other nationalities in the area as well such as Spanish, Polish, African Americans, and Caucasians.
When Dawn told me my child who is not Russian is singing several Russian songs I almost had a stroke. She laughed and thought it was cute. No it’s not cute!!! There are children of other descents in that class. My children will not understand what language singing in. Its actually the most asinine, absurd practice ever! You have children who don’t speak English who need to learn English singing songs in their native language amongst other children who don’t even understand stand what is being said. That is the epitome of counter activism. Then you want to teach 2 – 3 yr olds about hibernation??? But you give them 1 letter to color every other week??? You teach them G is for Gold fish and then jump to Hibernation? A lot of the children don’t know the ABC’s? Fortunately my child knows their alphabet and counts to 20. Then I send my child with a bear to make a bear cave and then a week later you want my child in pajamas to watch polar express? Is that why I did all of this? In Preparation to watch polar express? Really? Try teaching the basics before hibernation, which the only reason this ridiculous subject is even being entertained is because you’re going to have them «come out in the spring «Please!!! Just say you want me to continue wasting money until the spring when the Bears in their cave come out of hibernation. By then you may have my child watch polar express again to remind them of useless information. Sales gimmicks don’t work with me, and if you’re going to come up with a gimmick at least make sense.
Dawn in my opinion is horrible! She barely post to the FB page, But the teacher Lena post pictures almost daily and from her picture she actually teaches, which is nice to see. In closing, I’m so disappointed and I feel like my child is being dooped of a proper education. To much play, way to long naps. Tip for you little scholars make sure they are learning Feliz Navida in your show. Needless to say my child won’t their bear Coke out of hibernation. My child will be elsewhere.

Nice teachers and cooked home food, not too many engaging activities during free play but over all good care for youngsters
