Do not find a girl who cut your hair!!! It is very terrible. She is a little mean and I give her the photo said I want to cut like that. She said okay. But after finished it is so bad. Too short. Do not find the young girl anymore !!

I came here one day to get a trim and a blow out since it was in my area and the place I had gone to for years closed down. They did a decent job with the hair trim and blow out. It was only like an inch they had to cut off anyway. I went back a few after and one time I decided to get my hair died. I had my hair died red and it was already fading to orange so I went there and spoke to the guy about evening the color out to one solid red. He told me I would need to come a day were I had more time because it may take a few hours.
I come in the next day five hours before I had work thinking that would be enough time. I was SO WRONG! They first started off with removing all the colors in my hair with bleach and it was on my head for over an hour. Than they washed it out and bleached it again because it still was ORANGE and now even brighter!!! Than about another hour later we washed it out and it still looked the same! Than they bleached it again after that and I was steaming already because bleach KILLS your hair and doing it that many times is insane. I understand red is a hard color but really didn’t need that much bleaching and it should have took especially after three times. Than they finally put the red color on my head and I had to call work because I was running late. They wash out the red and I am noticing it doesn’t look right to me. Than they start drying it and it’s HOT PINK!!! I almost died seeing the color and I started yelling what is this I asked for red and my hair is beyond fried and hot pink. They argued with me saying it wasn’t there fault when clearly it is. The worst part was I had to pay full price for it and than go to work like that. It was extremely embarrassing and I got laughed at so much because it felt and looked like a wig. Never again would I step foot in this place!

The workers listen to what you want them to do and follow the instructions. They dyed and cut my hair for half the price that i usually do it for at other salons and they were also very nice. I recommend this salon and I’ll definitely come back. They also have this card coupon for 10 cuts get one free.

I checked the reviews before i went there. Of course as so many reviewers’ recommend, i made an appointment with Joe on Feb 20^th.
I was there at 10am, it’s already busy, so i waited for a while. Joe gave me some suggestions based on my hair condition and i told him what i expected in detail so I know what is the best for my hair.
I wanted to dye and curl my hair but he refused to curl it coz my hair is pretty dry already, it will be totally damaged afterwards. So u know he’s really professional and wont do things on your hair just for making money.
The whole procedure took about 3.5 hours (coz i have really looong hair), i am very satisfied with the result. My hair looks much healthier and feels smooth now.
I would def recommend you go and make appointment with Joe or at least let him check your hair for some advice before you have your hair done.

This place is so rude and umprofessional. I went for a haircut, walked to the shampoo station then told the guy can’t cut my hair! The shampoo girl told me not Joe. I was so embarrassed, this display was infront of other clients. So thrashy, seriously! Wheres the professionalism? Ive also brought my kids there for trims. The cuts are just okay, nothing special! I went based in Unilocal reviews, some of these reviews are bogus!!! This place is the worst!!! If you want to be treated nice you must be asian.

Joe is great. He took one look at my hair and knew exactly what type of cut suited my hair. I definitely recommend!

In dire need of a good salonist who would 1) listen to me and 2) knowledgeable enough to work with my curly hair, I searched the Internet for any good place in NYC. I was ready to go anywhere just to fix my hair after a painful bout of arthritis rendered me unable to brush it for a week, during which time it developed tangles and snarls that needed to be cut.
At the same time, I wanted an entire revamp on my hairstyle, and printed out pictures to show him the cut I wanted. Joe took a look at them and said mines wouldn’t look like that because my hair is curly, which is definitely right, and it was fine with me (I did like his attention there!). He did notice the hair was damaged as he combed through it. By the time he was done (and I was wow-​ed by the reasonable price), I walked out feeling like a new person.

My friend recommended me this place to cut my hair. The first time I cut my hair here, Joe was the hair stylist. I was happy with my hair cut. Today is my second time here and Kevin was my hair stylist. Joe was too busy. I was not happy with my hair cut at all. It seem as if Kevin was in a rush to cut my hair. He asked me how I wanted my hair and how short. I told him layers and about shoulder length. He offered that shoulder length does not look nice and he will adjust it to look right. The cut took about like 10 mins. It looked fine for about like couple of mins. However, actually looking at it, he just randomly chopped off my hair. I guess he was in a hurry to go on his lunch break since he left the salon right after he was done with me.

First thing’s first; joe’s the realest.
Called the day of to make an appointment around 7pm. Joe had no problem with that.
When i entered, he sat down with, took a look at my hair and asked me what were preferences were and how I wanted the haircut.
I showed him pictures of what i wanted AND what i didnt want. Many asian stylist enjoy thinning hair, which i absolute hate.
Thanks for his patience of not thinning my hair cause i sounded like a broken record, repeatedly reminding him to not thin my hair.
Joe was extremely patient with me, explaining how this haircut will help me style and wash my hair better. The cut was exactly what i wanted! Somehow he managed to cut inches off my hair but still keeping a long length.
He was so humble too, I showed him all the Unilocal reviews mentioning his name; he blushed and just smiled.
Pricing was EXTREMELY affordable. He only charged me $ 12. Usually at other salons, with my hair length, the minimum would cost around $ 25. So happy with my hair.

I definitely recommend this place for haircolor/​highlights!!! They were able to fix my ombré since mine was uneven to be begin with. I was charged 60 bucks and I have long hair. I should have came in with a particular style. First time here and I really liked it.

First of all I have to say that I have found my new go to salon!!! I’ve been to many other salons to cut and wash my hair (mainly because my mother took me there since it was reasonably priced), but I was honestly never wow-​ed by them. This place has both resonance prices AND the wow factor that I’ve been looking for!
The salons that I’ve previously went to always had some kind of a language barrier and I always had trouble getting what I wanted across to the stylist. This is expected if you go to any Asian salon in NYC, but here it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I came here on a whim because I was eating sushi right across the street from the salon and thought, «Hey maybe I should finally color my hair today.» I went on Unilocal and saw that this salon had the best reviews so I went in and I was not disappointed at all!
Joe, the stylist, sat down with me and asked what color I wanted and what look I was going for. He asked if I had previously dyed my hair before (I did, but only my tips. The top of my head is all virgin hair) and guided me through what the process would be like, which is something that no other stylist has EVER done with me. He was extremely professional and I’m so happy I was able to get this kind of service and color my hair for a really good price!
End result: I AM IN LOVE WITH MY HAIR COLOR! Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to dye their hair!

I went to the Salon after seeing the reviews in Unilocal,and I realized they deserve the good comments! you go, ask for Joe. He’s just extremely professional and honest about everything he does. I went with an idea in mind and he gave me excellent advise on what to do, and actually told me the price before doing anything, which is great. All the people in the salon is very helpful and polite, and I am extremely happy with the results! I am definitely coming back. Thanks Joe and everyone at the Salon!

I always had a salon phobia before finding out about this place. I always get the feeling «oh I just need to get my split ends trimmed off and stuff» but I would never be satisfied about my hair UNTIL I met this place.
This salon is by far my favorite and I always come back to it every break. I have all trust within JOE, and I was never disappointed about my hair ever since. Joe always cut your hair the way you want him to. He’s amazing! It was the first time when I had my haircut here and I’ve never been this satisfied. He also cuts it really fast and naturally.

I came in on a Monday afternoon looking for a trim because my split ends were getting terrible and walked out with a new style and soft hair! The store wasn’t busy AT ALL. Joe had a customer ahead of me so he recommended me get the hot oil treatment while I waited. They offer $ 35,$ 45,$ 55 options. I did the $ 35. I also did a hair cut, wash, and blow. My total was $ 45, and additional $ 5 tip for joe and $ 5 for shampoo/​oil treatment lady. I got a really nice massage from the shampoo lady but sadly didn’t get her name. Joe meticulously cut my hair to exactly how I wanted it to look from a picture I showed him. He also taught me how to style my hair at home so it would fall perfectly. He didn’t attempt to make conversation but from time to time would give me very helpful hair tips :)!! I had a overall great experience. I’ll be back in 3 months for another hair cut and oil treatment ^_​_​_​_​^

I came back here for a new hair color which was ash brown and I was disappointed. I was because the day I came, Joe wasn’t here. Another lady dyed my hair and bleached it basically damaged my hair badly. The color came out nice the first week, but after like 2 washes the color just wore off. I also noticed that my hair was so dry and always getting knotted. I came back very unique happy and cut it short. Thankfully, Joe was here that day and he helped me fixed up the color. He basically toned it and it looked a lot better. Joe also charged me less due to the previous job done that I was unhappy about. I still love coming here but I’d definately reccomend you look for Joe.

Joe is great at cutting my hair. The color came out really nice. I like going here since prices are reasonable.
I came back in a couple of weeks and joe gave me a free oil treatment. The lady was superb at blowing curls for my hair. Most places are lazy and just pulls out the curling iron. She was patient and quick.

Another successful ombré went back to joe for a new ombré color, we looked through a few colors and of course he recommends to not damage my hair too much (as always). He really cares about damaging your hair, especially when it comes to bleaching. At first he suggested a burgundy color and I said okay but after the wash and blow I saw no big difference. I asked him I really wanted a bright color or something a lot different from what I had (which was warm brown and a few highlights of blonde) so I told him how about red and he wasn’t too fond of it because to get that exact color means I need to bleach it. So he did a quick bleach and mixed a little water with it and added the red on. The moment I got up and saw it… I was very happy and glad he did it for me! Thanks Joe! I will be back for another color in a few months!

I highly recommend this place for hair coloring and styling. Everyone is friendly and professional.

I wish I can say I have one stylist that I go to that gets me, but unfortunately, I do not… Until I found this place. Ask for Joe if you want to dye your hair or just simply do anything with your hair. You will be in good hands. He really cares about his clients and you can tell he is really passionate about hair styling. You should book an appointment in advance, but be prepared to wait at times because Joe takes walk-​ins also. But the wait should not turn you off as you would leave with the hairstyle you desire every time you walk out of that salon. Trust me.
