I’m actually embarrassed that after all of the hours of shopping time I invest in Park Slope, I have never wandered off into this place. I’ve got to admit, their front window is always fancy and gave me the impression that it might be extremely pricy. However, with the exception of the«Real Gucci» bag(as the cashier explained to me) for $ 599, many items here were cool and very reasonable! I found a cool army fatigue-esque colored leather shirt for just 18 bucks. I will definitely be back.

Awesome selection, with a great variety of high-end and affordable clothes and accessories. Tons of books! In the basement you’ll find various small home and kitchen appliances.

Wonderful, beautiful selection of vintage and barely used clothing, shoes and housewares. Attentive service. Prices are extremely reasonable and the shop owner is delightful.

A pretty good store. Tons of items are $ 5. Most of the stuff is vintage or from the ‘90s. Mostly women’s, there’s very little men’s stuff.

I’m the kinda girl who loves dresses and Life Boutique has a large selection to choose from. I love how this store is so organized dresses are line up in color order. The prices may be a little higher then other thrift shops but I don’t mind because of the unique collection. The staff is pleasant, I’m so glad I found Life Boutique.

This review is not so much about the store– which is really great– as it is about a certain person who works there. This young gentleman who just started working there recently has a real attitude. Unlike the women who work the counter who are always helpful and friendly, this guy comes off like he’s doing you some kind of favor when you ask him a question. I have seen him pass wise cracks as people are exiting the store and comes off with a real smug attitude. He makes a person feel really uncomfortable shopping at Life Boutique which is a shame since I really enjoyed it there when the nice ladies were behind the counter. Really, I think he should take a course in customer relations(101). I think I will stay away from Life Boutique until he is gone which, with his wise-ass hipster behavior, shouldn’t be too long. And who hired this twit anyway?

Ah… I have a new addiction… and it’s consignment shopping… First time there, they were having a 50% off sale on everything(yay my lucky day) and I bought seemingly new kenneth cole jeans, Marc Jacob flats that are so freaking cute, and a rose pendant necklace. I also tried on this spectacular vintage dress just for fun! It may not be the most organized, especially the bottom floor where I was extremely overwhelmed, but they put out all the stuff from new shipments on the first floor… and the prices are unbeatable!

Such a great little thrift shop, definitely one of the best in Park Slope! They have a great selection, from Marc Jacobs to H&M, and with that kind of range plus the incredible prices I almost always find something here. Even better is the staff — after dealing with the atrocious employees that some second hand places have(I’m looking at you Beacon’s Closet) the friendly and welcoming people here are a breath of fresh air. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!

Quite expensive to be honest. I did pick up a nice pullover from the $ 5 section downstairs but everything upstairs was overpriced in my opinion.

Awmuhgod!!! What a great place! This reminds me of Housing Works before everyone and their mother started shopping there. This cute place is a gem, with really amazing designer clothing at crazy prices. When I visited it seemed as though a very small person donated a crap load of great things, as I could not fit into anything stylish. I didn’t interact with the staff so much, but several people near the fitting room were asking me styling opinions, so I must say that the clientele was really nice and friendly. They have everything from fun red lockers(at a great price) to tiki masks, to tons of costume jewelry to designer frames. The shoes are great too, although of course there was nothing for my monster feet. The downstairs area is more«thrift» than«boutique», but I appreciate the high and low aspect. They also have a crazy amount of board games along the wall. A fun place to venture into on a great spring day!

This is a very organized and nice-looking shop, the employees are friendly(I chatted with three different people, all very pleasant and cheerful), and it was a breeze to donate clothing. They accept all types of clothing, not just vintage, and they offer value documentation for tax deduction purposes. Vintage, nicer pieces upstairs, and thrifty items downstairs, including a decent selection of slightly worn shoes. Overall, I’m a fan and will be returning to donate and shop again.

This shop is definitely pricier than the average thrift shop. If you come on certain days you can find some great deals! I went this weekend and found a pair of beautiful detailed red t-straps that I instantly loved for just $ 5. I did find a pair of Payless shoes but they could have easily been mistaken for J. Crew or something higher brand for $ 15. Since they were new and I loved the tweed and ruffled, modern diamond bow, I had to have them too. I came a different time and got a polka dot ruffled skirt for five bones. It’s a great thrift shop to have on your route. You never know what you are going to find.

A good thrift store with designer stuff, great jewelry, home décor stuff and good rotating inventory. Fairly priced, has some good vintage and home décor. Not a ton of men’s stuff. Jewish/Sabath hours and observant of all holiday’s.

I haven’t a clue what you guys are talking about. Life boutique is my favorite Thrift store ever! Yes, I agree upstairs is pretty pricey, however for a person with a good eye and smart tactics, you can definitely win in this store. Wednesdays are first of all the only day I ever go thrifting because Wednesdays sales are ridiculous. It’s like 50%off. Secondly, they have an upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs you can find amazing things between $ 1 and $ 4 dollars. The last time I went here I racked up, espcially on my work clothes selection. I got j crew, french connection and ann taylor skirts for $ 1. I also got a J Crew suit for $ 4. Most amazing shopping experience ever! I left with BAGSS for $ 34 bucks. I dont even have to pay to get them altered because they fit perfectly and were dry cleaned pressed.

I love this as a place to donate my clothing to. The people there are super nice and appreciative of the donations, and I get a tax write off. The store is beautifully arranged and there is a nice atmosphere. It’s more expensive than the average thrift shop but you can also find fancy, cool things here.

By Far my favorite thrift store in NYC. It’s a charity and the volenter staff are all so nice, they are happy to help and know the store well. I got some lovely pencil skirts there. There clothes are great but there houesware stuff is the best. I got lots of vintage frames and some great Audubon prints. Like all thrift stores it’s hit or miss but there’s almost always something good

This is my absolute favorite place to shop in New York. Al the employees friendly & excited about what they sell. In NY its rare to approach anyone(especially when you think they want something from you) — I quickly discovered that wasn’t the case with this place. I shop on a budget & figured that the«brands» all girls want, were way out of my $$ league. I took a chance and went up to a sales associate. I told her I wanted Chanel shoes(knowing my odds). Totally in shock, she showed me a pair that were on the mannequin: simple, black, my size… PERFECT — …for $ 99!!!(Original BOX& dust bag). Although I grit my teeth for sharing this… people should know where they can shop for the BEST items & be treated kindly. They’ve got a customer for«life» in me… pun intended!

Hmmm. Not feelin’ it, unfortunately. I’ve stopped in several times and have never left with anything. Anyone that knows me know I don’t window shop. I buy things. Usually compulsively. However, whenever shopping at this hard-to-find-the-name-for store, I leave empty-handed.(It’s Life Boutique Thrift, but I’ve still never seen that name anywhere!) Main issue: Selection is overpriced. Plain and simple. It’s a thrift store priced like a vintage/antique store. The basement is pretty grungy and is supposedly the«discount» stuff, but when I’ve seen it… heaps of junk, still overpriced. Think old wooden ship frames for $ 100. The upstairs is obviously in much better condition and has much more clothes and furniture/knick knack items, and I can see that some of it is REAL vintage, but some of it is not, but all are priced high. It doesn’t measure up to the quality, presentation, etc. *No one has ever said hi to me in this store in the 5x I’ve been in. None. I’ve even asked for help once and the girl barely acknowledged me. They just don’t seem friendly. Maybe your luck will be better than mine…

I was hesitant to write a review about my new favorite vintage thrift store because it’s that amazing, and I want it all for myself! When I walked through Park Slope, I felt like I was walking through New York’s version of Melrose Avenue. So many stores with all kinds of various ethnic culture. Now all we were missing was the amount of people walking through it. I know how to hunt down a good store when I pass by one. I can smell for vintage, its like my sixth scent which led me into Life Emporium. The vintage camera peeking through the window also amazed me. Once walking into this store, I felt like I was transported back into the 80s. I found many cute polyester dresses, and all hung up on hanger racks and color coded. The darker pieces were in the back of the store. I found a ton of vintage designer brands too, but was more interested in my spring dress finds! I bought two dresses and I plan on coming back here for much much more!
