La Nueva Salsa de Hoy Dance Studio

My partner and I are a month into our beginner salsa class and having a great time! We heard about La Nueva Salsa de Hoy from a friend who has been taking classes there for over a year. She loves it, and her recommendation was spot on. The classes start off slow, but before you know it the instructor is challenging you with new steps, turns, and partner work. We study with Noël, who is friendly and makes class a lot of fun. The studio also has a large and welcoming community of students who’ve been studying for a while. You get to know the other people in your class quickly. Students from other classes also help out and give great tips for improving your dancing. They even have social dances once a month, where the whole community (of skilled and not so skilled dancers) gets together to have a good time. We’re happy that we started taking classes here, and look forward to every Monday.

The only good thing about Monday is my salsa class. This is a great way to get rid of the Monday blues. I love my class and enjoy this every week. It’s a great way to spice up your week and learn a new skill. The instructor is top notch and the prices are reasonable. for the price of one night out in the club you get a whole month of instruction. I love it and you will too.

I started classes here over a year ago and am grateful all the time that one of the oldest and best salsa schools in New York is right in Sunset Park. Love the instructors and the people here. Noël is my current instructor — can’t recommend his teaching style enough. They’re also really well priced, even generous. Old school and very, very good place to learn to dance.

I’ve been going to classes for 10 months and couldn’t be happier. I’ve always wanted to learn and I’m so grateful to Carlos and the teachers for our Brooklyn studio. :)

signing up for salsa class has made our life so much better, and this is a great studio with great instructors. we started with a beginner’s class in March 2015 with Noël on Mondays and now Monday is my favorite day of the week. perfect way to unwind after work. we’ve made so much progress since march, now my husband and I go social dancing and enjoy ourselves on the floor. Noël is great at breaking things down and the cumulative curriculum means that we learn the turn patterns through consistent repetition week after week.
Now we just started a Thursday class with Carmen also, she’s wonderful! really focused on getting us on the beat!
there’s salsa socials every month and it feels like a really wonderful community around the studio.

This will always be my he for salsa. Both Carlos and Mike are amazing people and instructors.

This place is honestly amazing! The instructors are extremely professional and knowledgeable and the students are very welcoming. I look forward to attending class every week and it never dissapoints, it’s an amazing time. I came in originally with two left feet and now I can say that I’ve grown so much in salsa and I love every second of it. I would suggest this place to anyone and everyone whether you have never danced a day in your life (like me) or you’ve been dancing like a pro your whole life. There really is something here for everyone. You won’t regret it. Come!
