Pros: A huge variety of «comfort food» VERYINEXPENSIVE Quick service Large area to sit and relax-chill environment especially with just the light coming from outside CONS: The food bar is closed very early, around like 2:00pm or something so no evening food for you. I really enjoy eating here, from the outside you wouldn’t know the gem inside, it’s not labelled or anything. I was recommended here by a former boss.

Store is unmarked with a sliding white door, next to the empty lot where the food trucks park. Favored by FDNYEMS, it’s their salad place. Pick you greens, 6 toppings, and dressing.

Jimi’s gets 5 stars from me for always selling fresh produce and not ripping customers off.

Had the Sailey, 5 bucks for a breaded chicken cutlet w/crisp lettuce, fresh tomatoes, swiss, hot sauce, mayo, on a toasted roll. Can’t beat it.

In the land of overpriced everything, this place is fantastic. Before I discovered this Jimi’s I was spending a lot of money on lunch and often not eating healtily(mmm Almondine…). Now I go here all the time for lunch and grab a $ 6 salad. The ingredients are fresh(they actually have the lettuce in a fridge until they need it, unlike most tossed salad places that just leave it out), and they have a great variety of vegetables. It’s also a treat that they have avocado! If you are looking for a creap lunch then I would recommend this place. If you are looking for a cute place to sit down and eat then I would recommend going somewhere else. Ideally, get your salad and go to the park. Note: Cash only(but they have an ATM)

Great place for a filling, cheap lunch. Kind of inconspicuous, you have to open a rather large, sliding wooden door to get in. Most people pass it unnoticed. This is a place where a lot of the local union workers and NYPD go for a quick lunch. It’s dim, cash only, and quiet with a bunch of small tables on newspapers strewn about. They have a great hot foods bar with fried rice, chicken, chow mein, and a big selection of american dishes like mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, meatloaf, etc. They also have a fantastic drink selection for such a small place, including coffee, with is always brewing. For $ 6.50, get a 3 choices form the hot foods bar, and a 20oz soda(that’s what I get). At the end, I’m full as hell, and not stuck eating the healthy crap being sold elsewhere in DUMBO. What else could I ask for?

$ 5.50-$ 6 salad: your choice of greens + 6 toppings. this salad weighs at least 1 – 2 pounds. a great lunch staple and a great value. trust, i go here once every week or so. the hot food bar is pretty standard too — the salmon and the greens are a good choice for $ 7. you get a hearty piece of fatty salmon in a vinegary sweet asian sauce. the mac & cheese is no good. friendly staff.
