International Christian School

ICS has to be one of the most unprofessional schools I know. They lack any communication skills whats so ever. Ms Reyes the school secretary lacks any compassion or meekness. Her tone is very condescending and childish. Customer service is a foreign concept to her. Which makes no sense to me, since customer service and Christianity go hand in hand. Sometimes I wonder when people hide behind the idea of Christianity, if they really know what they stand for. So many parents have left this school because of how they treat and talk to parents. They change the rules at the last minute and expect parents to be understanding. In facts parents are not even given the opportunity to express their opinions on any school policies. There is a lack of leadership and organization. Its sad to see that «Christians» are the one’s that are most lacking in treating others with love and compassion. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this school in my opinion should not be called Christian at all. It is a business that fails to listen to the voice of the very people that it serves. Its sad to say that International Christian school won’t be around long, especially when they lack any evidence of being Christ like. I would encourage the administration to study what the fruits of the Spirit are and actually require the staff to study it, practice it and teach it. I used to go to this school. I was looking forward to my son coming to this school as well. Now i’m glad my son will not experience the opposite of what it means to be Christ like.

The only reason why I chose to give two stars instead of one is because I did learn way more during my time there than other people I knew at the same grade level. I went to ICS for eleven years. From the age of 3 up until I was 13. The problem with this school is not the education, or their way of teaching the word of God, it is their blatant disrespect for those of African American descent. During my time there it was very clear that although the majority of their school was made up of minority students they did not care much about the history and importance of black Americans which was hard to deal with as a child. Being told that because of my skin color I was cursed and Martin Luther King Jr. did not do much for black people. At that time MKJ day wasn’t even given as a holiday but every other national holiday was. Although these statements were made by one teacher, he was high up and is a minority himself, which shows the level of hatred that lies in this school. I do not think this is the kind of message that should ever be sent from a «Christian» school. Honestly going to a public high school gave me way more opportunities than staying there for high school ever could. Hopefully they have changed but hate like that seems to linger.

My sons both graduated from International Christian School. The quality education they received has helped them get a great start in life and career. The timeless Bible truths they learned helped develop a character that has helped them in the work place and in their own families.
