The selection is inspired and the window always draws me in. Lots of eco-friendly choices, but unfriendly service. They look at you like you don’t belong there and then act like you’re bothering them when you ask a question. I always go in intending to buy some cute thing and then decide not to out of spite.

I’ve bought some adorable bowls and placemats here. Little things. You can never tell when it’s going to be open though, and the service is a bit lackluster. I came here with my mom once, and she fell in love with a lavender satin quilt. We asked the saleslady how much it was, and she said it wasn’t for sale. Why was it out on display then? So odd. But I keep going back because they have unique stuff.

I bought a nice baby gift in here once and it seemed like they had cute stuff. Recently I tried to go back to buy the same gift for another friend and twice during the week and twice on the weekend(I live close enough to walk by on my way out) they were closed even though their posted hours stated that they should be open. So I decided to call ahead first, but when I arrived the person inside was locking up even though it was a half hour before the time they told me they would be closing! I certainly don’t need to give my business to a place that clearly couldn’t care less whether I shop there or not, there are plenty of «gifty» type stores in Brooklyn. I will definitely not be going into this place again.

This store is definitely cute, but some of the linens and covers are way too overpriced. $ 85 for a small throw pillow cover? Come on… Yes, H&H has some very eclectic goods for various rooms in your home, but some of the things for sale are very ikea-esque. And maybe it was just an off day, but me and my friend were the only ones in the store and the lady behind the counter(don’t know if she’s the owner or just employee) did not even put down her phone for 1 second to greet us. Never even a look in the eye and a nod. Nothing. If you are going to charge that much for housewares, at least acknowledge that I am in your store.

Home & Haven has a nice variety of household items and random other stuff. I’ve bought a few things here and I was happy with their quality and design. The employees that I’ve met have always been very kind but not bothersome(they say hello and answer and questions you may have). The one thing that does bother me here is the prices are rarely on the items. I’ve always had to ask. Some things have prices but apparently nothing I’m ever interested in. I think that the things they probably have the most of are towels, shower curtains, and pillows. I would definitely go back here.
