I love this place. It’s pay by the pound and the meat costs more so i separate veggies from meat in my container. Freshest around lunchtime. I always get the beef stew, plantains, spinach and chick peas but it’s fun to try new West Indian stuff. The Mac and cheese is great. The cooks are friendly. Only wish the food was labelled so I knew what I was eating. You can eat inside or take to go. Def a neighborhood staple.

What a gem, such delicious food — I was working in the area and tried this place for lunch 4 – 5 times. Each time was heaven. It doesn’t look like much but it is clean and the buffet selection of meats fish and rice, beans etc were all delicious. They also have a delicious ginger lemon and pineapple drink that is made fresh each day.

I love this place. Their buffet is delicious. I think I will buy food from here once a week from now on. I add the oxtails, curry chicken, rice, plantains and cabbage. I need to switch it up more. The food is the absolute best I’ve tasted. Man, I should’ve tried this a long time ago. My brother and his friend tried it. They spoke to me about it and then they told me to try it. Love it.

Food was good but, leave the barbecued chicken. It’s too sweet, my son says it tastes like the sauce you get with sweet and sour chicken. Curried Chicken, Oxtail, beef, rice and peas. All was good.

Blue Nile has great West Indian food from curries to fried plantain to bakes and even Chinese style. A true gem that beats back probably 98% of caribbean restaurants in NYC. Open late.

Cheap and good West Indies eats. The stew chicken is pretty awesome. The one star review is not completely accurate. Nothing there is sitting around marinating all day, it’s busy for lunch n dinner, I live on the corner I know. I also frequent there for sides to add to my meal at home. Awesome sweet potatoes and greens. Pretty easy to look at this place and brush it off but it’s just a simple place with good food, no light or whistles attached. Enjoy. PS the fresh fruit juices and banana bread pudding is really good too.

Blue Nile really is a hidden gem out in the open. Simple food with great flavor. In between the gamey tasting curry goat with attached bone marrow, and the oxtails, where the fat tastes as good as the meat, and the blade lamb chops: which are marinated with vinegar and garlic and then char grilled, you can’t seem to go wrong. Please be aware that the lamb is put out between 2:30p &3:30p. All of the sides such as macs n’ cheese, chana, greens, etc are well cooked and seasoned.

Shall never return! My friends and I were in a bind, so we paced back and forth on Flatbush. There are no appealing late night restaurants in this area. So we finally settled on this buffet of atrocity. A lot of the food was presumably marinating for quite a while under heated lamps. The selection was very limited for pescetarians/vegetarians. I recall settling on some mac n’ cheese, rice amongst unmemorable things. My friend had problems digesting the food, so her body immediately rejected it if you know what I mean.
