Hair For U Coney Island’s Finest

I Love this place!
I took my daughter here to have her hair washed and cut and stylist did an amazing job!
My daughter had terrible knots amd more than 5inchss was cut off and its super short but it looks gorgeous if it wasnt for this stylist (forgot her name but shes a senior stylist) my daughters hair wouldnt look as beautiful as it does now!
We will be back for a wash and set very soon!

LOVE COMING HERE! I live all the way on the east end of Long Island and come all the way to Coney Island Brooklyn to get my hair done… That should tell you something.
I’ve been coming here since I was eight years old, I’m 22 now, and I rarely ever go anywhere else.
I have never colored my hair so I can’t speak on that but I get my hair washed and set here; I also get a perms here. The blow outs make my hair look as if I have gotten a perm. If I come here every week-​two weeks my hair can last about 6 months without a perm. Granted, I bring my own products so understand if you bring your own products too and they are crappy your going to get crappy results!
With every establishment I feel that there are always things that could be worked on to make the business better :
— Cosmo, the owner, it would help if he were a little more friendly to the customers.
— He has three stylist working in the salon but only one can really manage African American hair. The other two are good at working with hair of a softer texture. It would be nice to have more stylist that can work with coarser textured hair.
— Offer better specials so business can pick up for them during the week.
— stop changing prices. For me it really doesn’t matter because I don’t trust anyone else with my hair but for others that will go any where in Brooklyn to get their hair done it is frustrating to be offered a different price for the same service every time you come in.
Overall I love coming here and would highly recommend. They have their flaws but what business doesn’t. I rather deal with their flaws then go to a hair salon and my hair doesn’t look the way I want it to.

Wow — when it comes to doing hair, what can I say. Naiya is the one. She does a tremendous and outstanding job. I don’t have to tell her what I want, she already knows. This is one reason why I do not let anyone else do my hair. If i say that I don’t want a particular product in my hair she doesn’t use it, where the others are persistant and want to use it. Cosmo is a cool guy. He sometimes sees that it crowded he will help out in either washing your hair (which I have to tell him to use force) or taking the rollers out to move the process along a little faster. Once in a while which is seldom do I let any of the others do my hair.

I go to this salon regularly. There is only one woman in there who can actually do hair and her name is Nyra. As of recently she only comes in Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s usually very packed on those days so you need to come before the salon opens which is 10am m-​f and 9am sat & sun. The other stylists are TERRIBLE!!! There are always new girls getting hired every month. The owner is rude and gets even more rude and nasty when he realizes everyone in the salon is waiting for Nyra and none of the other stylist. Overall I like the price and i’ve been going here for about 10 years but the owner needs to get more qualified stylists.
