UHG, I can’t win. I was super impressed with this place the first time I got it. The second time it was just OK. I got sesame chicken and it had no flavor and very odd pieces. I actually liked the free pint of sweet and sour chicken best… I hardly ate any of my sesame chicken — it was just OK. Overall, I would probably order from here again, but just for the cheese wontons and sweet & sour chicken.

Discovered Great Wall by accident April of 2015. Have not eaten in the restaurant but order delivery .I give it a 5 star because I live in Concord village and I get my order in at least 15 minutes. The delivery person is extremely courteous and the food is very hot when it arrives. It is always savory. I order from this restaurant at least 3 times a month. Extremely satisfied with the food, the variety of options and price. It is just awesome . Thank You Great Wall !!!

I tried the general chicken here and was not disappointed. Generous portions and friendly staff. I love finding great hole in the wall restaurants and I know this will be one I return to often.

This typical place is typically the most typical place in Typicalville. The food is cheap and hot if you just need that Chinese takeout in your stomach to get the bowels movin’. No, I won’t complain. They have made some strides toward improvement, I think. If you’re looking for authentic or special Chinese food you’ll be sad. If you like the sugar, salt, soy sauceness of Americanized Chinese you’re in for a treat. And by treat I mean eeeeeeeverything that you’re used to in a basic Chinese spot. *Slow clap*

It’s been a few years now that I’ve lived in Brooklyn Heights, and the first few times I tried this place were just okay. Fast forward to the present, and I break down and try the Great Wall again. After all, it’s just a block from my house. But, boy, I’m glad I did b/c this place has changed… for the better! Not sure what happened(new owner? new management? or what?), but the food was sooooo delicious and fresh! I had the chicken and broccoli meal, and the broccoli was super crispy and perfectly sautéed… and the white meat chicken was tender and succulent. Also really tasty was the egg roll that accompanied my meal. YUM! By the way, the staff is über friendly. There appeared to be a well-dressed manager(owner?) supervising the cook staff and counter staff, and he was overly attentive, super nice, and very appreciative of my business. The counter staff girl was also very friendly and attentive. Oh, and I must also comment on the wait time for a to go order – it’s super short, which is awesome! Thank you Great Wall for all the changes! They are changes for the best, and I’ll be back to visit you soon!

After eating lunch at this place I got food poisoning from an under cooked chicken. Never eating here again. I dont know how this place has an A rating. I highly recommend staying away.

Didn’t expect much and was disappointed. I ordered a General Tso’s chicken. $ 10 for one serving. Kind of pricey for a hole in the wall, but I’ll bite. The cashier took my money from me and grabbed a handful of broccoli without washing his hands. It’s okay, I’m sure the ratty tens and twenties he’s been shoving into the register all day were perfectly clean. The sauce on the chicken tasted like ketchup. All salt and vinegar with no flavor. Like I said, I wasn’t expecting a lot, but I’ve certainly had better for less money. The broccoli was okay.

Yeah, no. Why o why is it so hard to find good chinese take-out? It used to be that almost every NYC hole in the wall had a good wonton soup, egg roll, ribs and chicken and broc. Not too hard. Now almost impossible. This place was horrible. All the positive reviews are either fake or from folks who never had good chinese take out.

Decent, cheap Chinese fair. They have very good lunch special prices, and serve plenty of food.

A hole in the wall(hardly a Great one) serving, well, what you’d normally find in a shitty hole on a not-so-great wall. Overcooked chicken, salty sauce, lots of sadness. Fun times.

I think this is my new spot for delivery because there was no minimum order. I work in the area so tried it for the first time today. Delivery was quick. Have still yet to rate the taste because of dietary restrictions I am now on.

Welcome to Chinese Takeout places. I honestly gave this place an extra star simply because it tastes better than Fortune House, the joint down the road. I had the chicken with broccoli dinner combo one night and I will say that it’s a lot of food. They do delivery and they cook the food quite quickly I suppose. Unfortunately, it’s greasy and you don’t feel fantastic after eating it. Let’s just say that I probably wouldn’t come here unless I really really craved some greasy chinese takeout.

The only reason I’m giving this otherwise gross takeout Americanized«Chinese» joint 3 stars is because it’s close to the subway and on my route home. Otherwise, there’s no reason to bother. The staff can be loud and rude, especially the loan woman who works there. The only time she cracked a smile was the day I tripped walking through the door, and then she couldn’t stop laughing. I usually order the spare ribs with bones in. Or the usual fried calorie bombs, with sesame chicken being the most common. Ask for a fortune cookie or you won’t get one, no matter how pretty you think you are. This place was closed briefly by the health department a few months back. I saw it coming, but since then it’s a lot cleaner and you can now bet that whatever meat you choose on the menu will correspond to what you’re eating.

Had lunch here and it was not that great. I liked the option of having brown rice, but it was undercooked and hard in the center. The roast pork over rice was also a bit oiler than I would have liked. Very cheap though, with $ 6 lunch specials

This is a typical old-fashioned NYC Chinese takeout place. No surprises. I like to order steamed vegetables from here every now and then when I am unable to cook myself healthy meals. Their vegetables are fresh and the price is cheap. Place is old and needs renovations but you can see the whole kitchen and it looks fairly clean.

Cheap, fast and reliable delivery. But… The food is just not that good. What can we do with the chinese delivery options being so limited in DUMBO??? Their Singapore noodle is the best bet!

Greasy, rubbery broccoli. Chicken that tastes like it’s lived through World War II. And sauce that’s 55% oil and 45% soy. I exhibit withdrawal symptoms if I don’t eat Chinese food for more than two weeks at a time, and I still wouldn’t touch this place. A poor rip-off imitation of Panda Express, which itself is a poor rip-off imitation of Chinese food. So imagine if somebody tried to knock off a knock-off iPhone. This is the food equivalent. At least it’s cheap.

This has been my chinese place while living in brooklyn heights. It is take out but the food is so much more. If you love shrimp get the shrimp and broccoli, it is cooked perfectly and it is one of my favorite dishes. Also the portions are great so if you get the lunch you will not be left hungry. So if you want great chinese food at a good price come here.

They do all this yelling and then they sell you rubber chicken and raw wonton skins.
