We chanced in on this little very local hole in the wall restaurant on our way to Brooklyn College. It is very plainly decorated, and there were not many choices at 7 pm on a Saturday night. But the women were very hospitable, telling us of the 3 mains that were available. We had griot, which is fried pork chunks, and fried chicken. Each order came with tostones, white rice and yellow rice, and salad. This pork was delectable! Tender, well-seasoned and delicious. Both the yellow and white rices were perfect! The dark meat chicken was crisp, non-greasy, and also tasty. Fresh salad, including slivers of onion, tomatoes and lettuce. In the Spanish-speaking countries, we call mashed fried plantain«tostones» but I don’t know know what it is called in French Creole. Also very non-greasy and well seasoned. The food was phenomenal! Go find this little restaurant. Order take-out or eat in… you will not be disappointed.
