Very racist. I’m a professional and I was treated like a criminal because I asked for Timberland Brand. As a matter of fact his exact words were«only criminals wear timberlands»

I was in the market for a pair of comfortable work boots and came to the right place. Marty and his friendly staff greeted us right away and spent a considerable amount of time with us showing me several pairs that fit my needs. I couldn’t make up my mind so we went for lunch to mull it over and came back to buy a pair of Bates which were the same price online– minus the wait. Go there when you are not in a hurry because Marty has some interesting stories to tell and gave us a brief history of the store and neighborhood.

Made a Unilocal account just to review these guys. Marty and Co are incredibly nice and helpful, and they very likely have the best deals on Red Wings that you will find anywhere, online or in retail stores around Brooklyn/Manhattan. Frankel’s is, by all accounts, an institution(founded in 1890) and still run by the same family. They have a great selection of work clothes and boots, everything Carhartt, Chippewa, Red Wing, etc. Seriously, do yourself a favor and take the D/N down to 36th and 4th, walk a couple blocks over and check these guys out.

We were looking for the Red Wing Heritage Boot and we saw someone who was wearing them in Brooklyn and asked where they got them. He said at FrankelsNY. I thought we would just go to the store but I called first to make sure they had them in stock. The man I spoke with said they don’t have them in the store only online. Their website is not clear at all and when I clicked on the Red Wing it says they were unavailable. The person I spoke with tried to direct me to their Ebay site. Once on Ebay he told me to look them up but after about 5 minutes of putting in EXACTLY what he said it was still not finding his Ebay site. We tried this with their Amazon site too with the same results. I finally just Googled it and found it. Once on the Ebay site I asked him how do I search for the specific boot I was looking for at that point he says, «I don’t have time for this, it is the holidays and I have shopping.» He just lost a potential life long customer. Not good business. I was very calm the whole time and even being lighthearted about the fact that we couldn’t find his Amazon or Ebay sites. I was surprised to see the comments on how friendly they were. Not the experience I just had.

Marty and staff were absolutely great as soon as we walked in the store… and my wife and I walked out happy customers. Looking for a good price on boots, then ask John about the«odds & ends» section. We made out great. Wish we had the $$ to grab some Red Wings, but the Carhartt and Chippewa work boots we picked up are great(and cheap!) We’ll be back.

Frankel’s is awesome! I bought some Red Wing boots for close to $ 80 off the closest competitor. When I walked in there was a very friendly greeting and the staff was so helpful. I would highly recommend going here.

So I ordered from Frankel’s from Ebay(it was my frist time and I dont usually trust things like that but the price was unbeatable) I was thrilled when the UPS tracker said my boots had been shipped the same day I ordered them! Unfortunately the boots dont fit me BUT I called over there and they told me I could bring them back for a full refund! I am so impressed by the service and friendlieness of the sales associate on the phone and I just wanted to give them a Unilocal

You will be overwhelmed by a friendly greeting from Marty(the owner) when you walk in. His personality is enough to convince you to buy everything from work boots to cowboy hats. It has been around for over a hundred years and worth making the trek to experience a piece of Brooklyn history… and to get some great boots!
