This is my favorite pizza place in Carroll Gardens! The pizza is perfect — no other way to describe. We always get an extra side of sauce because it’s literally good enough to drink. The staff is so friendly, they always remember the extra sauce and have it ready for us! The Caesar salad is amazing as are the specialty salads. Oh and the meatballs are great! Sometimes we get 3 meatballs for dinner with a salad and they give you a huge hunk of fresh bread to go with it too. Never disappointed with Francescos!

Great no-nonsense neighborhood Italian eats — which is vital in an old Italian neighborhood. A few times a week, the wife and I have been walking down the street to grab a few slices and a sandwich for dinner for the kids. The prices are extremely reasonable, the pie is very good, the sandwiches are large, tasty, and filling, the meatballs are perf, and the pasta is damn good. Great ‘hood shop.

To a native Brooklynite, this place is old school. Great Italian basics, no nonsense, reasonable prices. The rice balls and grandma pie are especially good. And the counter guys like to watch TV sometimes when you’re ready to order.

Hands down the best meat balls I’ve ever eaten, and the red sauce almost mirrors the sauce that took my breath away in Florence. I could just eat the red sauce and bread for days, but add the appetizer meatballs and a loaf of bread for $ 6, and it’s the best meal around Carroll Gardens for a decent price. The 20 minute delivery also is amazing. I am grateful that I live in Francesco’s neighborhood, though I should probably stop ordering the bread for my Paleo diet.

Good pizza – not great. Stuff from the steam tables varies. None of it’s cooked to order which is a minus. It basically becomes Italian cafeteria food, which is fine if that’s what you want.

Eh. Not so good. Large portions of indifferent grub. It did not speak to my inner Italian.

Nice restaurant, food was good. We were just surprised by the amount of waste/trash produced here. We specifically asked for real plates as we were staying at a table but got disposable ones. And the waitress directly tossed in the trash our leftovers and perfectly good bread in front of us without asking we wanted it wrapped.

I remember this spot when it was Nino’s Pizzeria. I ordered the eggplant parm hero along with two potato croquettes. I wanted to to like it since my options for quality Italian sandwiches have become scarce. The eggplant parm hero was«slop», it completely falls apart and you can’t even hold the hero. The potato croquettes were greasy and tasted like joint compound/spackle.

The veal parm sandwich was chewy and looked like it came out of a microwave. Very disappointed.

Our goto spot was closed and we gave Francesco’s a call for some eggplant parm. Wow! Absolutely delicious and quickly delivered. Eggplant was nicely maid, not soggy at all. The cheese, sauce, all delicious. Give them a call

Terrible service. Ordered on Seamless with an indicated wait of 30−45min. An hour past and I enquired — they told me they were backed up and it would be another 30 minutes. A little annoying, but figured I made it this far so another 30 minutes wouldn’t hurt. but An hour and 40 minutes in and still no food! I called again and they rudely and unapologetically said it would be another 30 minutes! Needless to say, I promptly cancelled. Skip this choice — there is no shortage of excellent Italian choices in Carroll Gardens that provide amazing food AND terrific service.

We’ve eaten here a few times and never had a good experience. Once they gave me a slice that was cold in the middle. Another time I ordered a Greek salad and when I came to pick it up, they informed me that they don’t make Greek salads but they made me a house salad. Really? Maybe I’m just unlucky because other reviewers seem to like this place. Whatever. There are better pizza places in the area.

I eat here on average, two times a week. I love love love Francesco’s. The staff is so friendly and it just feels so homey, clean and comfy inside. They are very generous with their portions and you can’t beat the price. Their rice balls and potato croquettes are delish as well as their soups, broccoli rabe, chicken francese and everything else they have available. Especially their sauce. Warm Mazola bread is served upon request when you dine in. Everything about this neighborhood eatery is wonderful :)

I dined in for the first time Saturday night. My friend and I shared a small margarita pizza(6 big slices), the arugula salad(which had delicious lemon dressing) and we each had a coke. Bill came to $ 28. Our waitress was friendly and service was fast. Everything was really great, especially the sauce and the crust. Everything was exactly as a night out for pizza should be, no frills but no disappointments either.

We found Francesco’s passing by not knowing where to eat. It looked like an old time brooklyn restaurant which are very hard to find anymore. We sat down in the small dining area and was given fresh toasted italian bread to start. We ordered a house salad, 2 chicken Parmesan sandwiches on a roll, a grilled chicken panini, and a Parnell special. The house salad was fresh with a nice light dressing. The chicken Parmesans were covered with delicious rich tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. The grilled chicken was excellent, topped with grilled eggplant, tomato, and fresh mozzarella. The parnell special was okay– not the best i had but still enjoyable. Overall, Francesco’s is a great place to eat especially if you are looking for something quick to eat for an affordable price.

Another super-solid pizza joint in Carroll gardens. Great pie throughout the menu, but the Sicilian squares are killer, in part because the olive oil soaking the dough was so tasty. I’ve also tried the regular slice. It’s good, but the others are much better. A special note on service. We sat outside on a nice sunmer’s day. The lady serving us fell in love with our baby, helped amuse him, and even brought him a little treat. That’s the kind of place this is. An old school vestige of the Carroll gardens that was.

Francesco’s isn’t amazing, but it’s a good local spot for a basic slice. They also have a pretty good eggplant parm on a seeded roll, and some interesting slices. I recently had a vodka slice with really good sauce, and a serious layer of cheese hiding under the sauce. I also liked the broccoli spinach slice. They have manahattan specials here which I love. There is plenty of seating, and an extra room although it is more of a ‘to-go’ place for me. I enjoy the tip jar labeled ‘retirement fund,’ almost enough to tip. Almost.

Stopped here late night on the recommendation from a friend to try it out. I always loved the area, grew up playing ball down here but never tried it out. When I walked in and saw the sausage slice, I knew thats what I wanted. The crust was just how I like it… crispy enough that when you fold, it keeps its shape. I been to so many pizza spots in my life that most ny ones taste the same. I wasn’t blown away from the slices, but they do serve other Italian meals hot n ready so when Im back in the Columbia Heights area, I’ll def stop by and bring a bigger appetite.

Yo! Another member of the family represented in the name of a pizzeria, what an incredible shock! The good thing is, this time, I have only positive things to say. (Uncle) Francesco’s pizza is affordable, delivery is fast and the most important thing: the pizza is really, really damn good. As in mother effin’ delicious. As in, please save me from eating the entire pie because I’ll hate myself in the morning, good. Oh and do try the garlicky broccoli rabe. Really, do it! It’ll make you less likely to eat the entire ‘za and it’s way healthier for you. Thank you, Uncle Frankie from saving me from having to hit up Uncle Sal again(he can keep his lousy pizza). You’re up there with Cousin Vinny, hell, even better, though I think he’s a cheaper pie. Anyway, he’s further away from where we needed him the other night.
