I love this place. The service is great and they make a seafood pizza that is awesome! Their delivery is really good and fast. Definitely a step above regular pizza!

My friend who lived in the area hyped this place up as though it was going to be the best pizza that I’ve tasted in awhile; and I WASSTARVING!!! It was not that great. The pizza can use a decent amount of more sauce. I had a slice of something with a lot of meat and extra cheese topped on it and a slice of spicy buffalo chicken pizza. The slices, especially, the meaty one, were quite dry. And then, them putting the slices into the oven to heat them up did nothing but turned them to toast topped with dried out cheese. I do like the flavor of the buffalo chicken slice, but I’ve still had much better slices for cheaper at other more well-known pizza spots. I will say that, the slices are pretty large in NY style fashion, so that’s a plus. I’d enjoy it more after a night of heavy drinking if they are indeed open late. I have no plans to go back when I’m in the area, but I could stumble in again unknowingly *shrugs*

Close to residential — very convenient! Spacious, with lots of tables and chairs. They actually do table service, and bring out checks rather than make you pay upfront! The staff were nice. Prices are so-so. Their vegetable slice with fancy fake meat stuff was $ 4.

This is sad to write because I live in the neighborhood and I want to like my local pizzeria, but I just can’t. Seems like a nice family run business and there’s no reason they can’t make good food. But somehow, they just don’t. I have been here a number of times and had delivery once or twice. Every single time its a huge disappointment. Overall, the feedback is simple — the food tastes bland. This is not delicious, balanced, high quality pizza. This is boring, under-achieving, low-quality ingredients, cardboard crust pizza. WHY??? It starts with the dough — its either too hard and cracking or undercooked. Every time. Clearly nobody is paying attention to rising times, storage temperature, etc… its not any better than freezer quality dough. It needs some salt, some flavor and good flour to begin with. Next the sauce — bland again. And not much of it. I didn’t even know it was there. Where’s the acidity and the wonderful basil and herb aroma that any good sauce gives off? Not here. The cheese? Also pretty flavorless. I guess its the best part since its close to other pizzerias. Not impressive. AND the grease. Its just a greasy pizza and you certainly don’t taste fresh olive oil or herbs. Especially if you order pepperoni, which is soft, and not crispy at all the way it should be after it comes out of the oven and onto your plate. There’s another pizzeria down the block and they are considerably better even though they don’t look as nice inside. And the competitor’s pizza still doesn’t get more than 3 starts in comparison, so that says a lot. In addition, the guys are always looking at you like you are stupid or looking around condescendingly. Its as if they hate their customers, or maybe just everything. This is new york city, so I get that. But if you run a restaurant you better be cultivating relationships with clients and hiding your scowls or you will be rewarded with an empty restaurant. It all goes to show that service and quality are king — if your product is inferior, people are going to stop coming to you. Just being there isn’t good enough. I heard they own the building, so they should be making enough from the apartments to invest properly in quality ingredients. I wonder why they don’t do it.

They’re on seamless, so that’s convenient. But not a fan of the pizza :(Too much bread, not enough sauce and cheese.

I’d agree with Unilocalers that say that this place is cleaner than most pizza joints. The food was alright. I like that the cheese patty was literally open faced and drizzled with melted mozzarella. The fries and pizza were pretty standard.

This used to be my FAVORITE pizza place in the area. Not anymore. I tried to order pizza through the phone & was met with a veryyy impatient man who identified himself as the owner. I tried to ignore his rudeness and proceed with my order but he interrupted me & said very rudely I need to give my address first. I then told him never mind-I don’t want to order anymore because he was rude & he actually called me a «fucking bitch.» I was speechless. They have lost a loyal customer.

I can’t write this review fast enough, as I am violently ill for the SECOND time after getting delivery from here. After the first time I decided to assume it was a fluke and not the fault of the food, but now I’m sure. My advice is STAYAWAY!

I’m a fan of both Fortunata’s and Tony’s pizza on Buschwick but I have to say that for my taste; Fortunata’s makes better pizza while Tony’s has better garlic knots. Their slices start @ $ 2 and adding a topping is a buck more. The times that I’ve gone to Fortunata’s(even before my Unilocaling days) They have always been packed with people eating a wide variety of their pizza’s, a popullar one seems to be the eggplant pizza. Yes, you read right, eggplant pizza, but I was craving pepperoni, but that is what i’ll try the next time I’m up in NY.

The pizza is pretty decent here, the service is okay and its really clean. Cleaner than most pizza places I’ve been too. I don’t get the bad reviews, the food seemed good and people were coming in and out while I was here … even if it’s run by the mob, they have good pizza.

Its a shame that the food here is so delicious(for my taste), cause when you need to get it delivered, the service is AWFUL! They really don’t know how to communicate with each other, i once canceled a pending order, and they«forgot» to cancel it, so they came to my door and complained to no end that its MY fault. Then at a different time, I ordered online and then later had to call to check the status on my order, and supposedly their fax machine ran out of ink so the order wasn’t processed. I mean. WTF?! Then the owner cried and complained on the phone about how its not working out with their online processing websites, blah blah blah. Im sorry, im a very patient person, but I AM also starving, at this point. Just please, get my order to me or I will cancel. I recommend against this place, unfortunately.

yucky = not yummy = Fortunata’s II Pizza Restaurant i used to go here with the ex when we were hungry, wanted pizza and just too damned lazy to go anywhere farther than 3 blocks. So far, we’ve eaten pizza from here probably a total of 12 times over the course of a year and a half. despite it being yucky, thick, chewy doughed pizza(cheese, toppings and the rest are fine, but the dough is so thick, soft and chewy) we keep going back. why? because we are damn lazy folk and have a cheese craving that needs a fix. and yes, whenever we overcome the lazy attitude, we always opt to go somewhere freakin’ else, as Fortunata’s(i will reiterate) is yucky.

I’m convinced this place is a front for the Mob. The pizza is not really great and the staff all seem like customers are an annoyance. Yet they have one of the cleanest, biggest dining areas of any restaurant for miles around. There’s no way they’re turning that much profit on their food. Go down a couple blocks to Tony’s; they’re smaller and their selection’s a little more limited, but it’s cheaper and the pizza’s ten times better. I did enjoy the coffee ice cream milk shakes in summertime though. Occasionally, the old guy behind the counter would make one that he added espresso to. That was an awesome shake and the only reason this review is not one star.

I heard that this was the spot. It’s a fair price. The nice thing was that they gave me this sauce to pour on my slice myself. They had some tasty spinach thing too. The décor leaves much to be desired. It’s cleaner/newer than most pizzerias but kind of douche-baggy with a flat screen toward the back. It makes me think that most of these pizza shops would like to look like the olive garden if they had the money. And that is a sad thought.

Literally just got a large mushroom and sausage pizza delivered. Where to start. The mushrooms are canned, the pizza is under cooked and chewy. It is so salty it is almost uneatable. I do not understand how something can me salty and at the same time have no flavor. The sausce lacks any depth or complexity in flavor, ketchup on a poptart would have been better. This is by far the worst pizza I have ever had.

My favorite pizza place in the neighborhood, although I’ve recently noticed some inconsistencies in the sauce(sometimes its great, sometimes it needs more salt, etc.). Décor is clean, well-lit, humble. Staff is friendly. I get take-out so I dunno how quick the delivery is. I had what the Italian guys behind the counter told me was an «original» sicilian slice there once; Sicilian crust, tomato sauce, roasted sweet onions and breadcrumbs(no cheese). It was really good. Their plain cheese is on point. I didn’t like the Hawaiian slice I had once though. 9⁄10 times the pizza’s been great though.

This unexpected gem is pure pizza delight — the regular pies are so huge, i cannot imagine what a large must look like. they are generous with their toppings, and the garlic knots are among the best. git some!
