I found Ella Harris to be helpful in her sessions in guiding me think through several of the issues in my life(alcoholism in the family, anxiety, etc.)leading me to depression. She presents herself as open and caring, non-intimidating, I felt able to discuss my issues with her freely. She is a little scattered and does her appointments old-school style in a little notebook, but otherwise I would recommend her. The office is small but warmly decorated.

I needed to see a therapist because I have been experiencing some normal human issues that need addressing. I found Ms. Harris and was blown away by her experience and multiple titles, so I decided to call and make an appointment with her. I called and left a message with someone who sounded more upset than professional; she told me that I would receive a call within the next 24 hours… I waited for about three or four days, no call. I called again and left a message, no return call. I really wanted to see this therapist, so I decided to wait, until finally! two days later, she called me. She sounded very nice on the phone and we made an appointment… I was very excited about this and looked forward to having my firs session all weekend. The day of the appointment came, I got ready, left very happy and got there right on time. I ran the bell and this woman opened the door; she looked at me like she had just seen a ghost and said nothing. I told her I had an appointment with Ms. Ellis and she said«she stepped out and I don’t know where she went». She went back in and closed the door on my face. I did not know what to make of it, so I decided to wait… I waited, and waited, and waited for about thirty minutes. At that time I decided that this lady was not going to come back any time soon. I called her office number(which I could hear ringing from where I was) and there was not even an answer machine. I called her cell phone and left a message letting her know that I had been there waiting, but she never called back. As I left the building I was so upset, on the way out I got my arm stuck between the door and the wall and I hurt it pretty badly. She never called me to return my message, to let me know what happened or at least to apologize. What she did was very unprofessional. I am also a social worker and I would never treat a client like that. For starters, I would not step out when a client is about to come see me, and if for some reason I have to miss an appointment, I will call in advance and let them know. If for some crazy reason I forget to call, I will call after and apologize and do my best to accommodate them.
