The sandwiches are good and they have a good selection of drinks including beer. The guys that work there are really friendly and the cat will accept as many scratches as you can spare.

You know, I actually like living in Bushwick. There’s good pizza. Tacos. Various options for booze. TWO sushi places. And art aplenty(some good, some less so). And yet amidst all this cultural bounty, not a damn bank in sight. Sure, there are ridiculously expensive ATMs all over the place. There’s one about 30 seconds from my building, in fact. But I hate paying freaking ATM fees. I don’t have that much money to begin with. And $ 4 could be dinner from the Olive Valley. Coupled with this banking wasteland, a bunch of places around here are cash only. Oh, the Narrows! How much more I might drink if I didn’t run out of money… All right, I suppose in that case the cash only policy is a good thing. So, what in the name of Almighty Gachnar does this have to do with this random deli? They’ve got an ATM… that I can use for free. Sure, it’s out of the way(for me). I’d never even walked further than the Associated Foods until I changed banks and then discovered that the ATM at El Mercadito randomly is the closest free ATM. So for that, 5*. Now if ING could work out a deal with that ATM sitting outside of Roberta’s, I’d be incredibly happy. I actually have no need to use El Mercadito as a deli. I’ve never purchased anything from here. So, maybe not 5* if you’re not an Electric Orange customer(since this is not an ATM that is randomly free, but on randomly free for ING customers, of which I am one). But if you are, go crazy! And with the $ 4 you just saved on ATM fees, you can buy some HoHos on your way out the door.
