I never write reviews but this is totally necessary. I ordered from here yesterday morning, at around 11am. Got the Erin Brockovich sandwich and hand-cut fries. Sandwich was soggy, over-stuffed with lettuce, hardly had any brocoli or cauliflower. The fries were just plain out DISGUSTING. Cold, way too salty, BLACK, and BURNTTO A CRISP so much that I swore they took whatever fries were left over the night before and just re-fried them! Those were def. not fresh. I couldn’t even eat them. I was really disappointed. I figure maybe they were having a late, hungover start to their Saturday morning or something. But whatever the case, I won’t be ordering from here again.

Nope. Come on. First it took over an hour. Cost $ 15 and turns out the rocky IV is little more that a mashed potato sandwich. The guy told me it’s all weighed out and assured me this is the way the sandwiches are. Look at my pic. That’s all the meat there on top. I took a couple bites and realized there was nothing on it.

I don’t understand how this place has bad reviews at all. This is an amazing sandwich place and I hope it survives. You can tell the owner, who also makes all the food, has a real passion for sandwiches. Does that sound silly? I mean it shouldn’t if you own a sandwich shop, right? LOTS of attention to detail. Great bread, creative fillings, and everything is seasoned. I’m a vegetarian and I love how creative and filling the vegetarian/vegan options are. I got a vegan sandwich and added cheese. You can add/substitute anything too. Didn’t try any of the sides but I would, they all sounded great. Did I mention the chip selection? My favorite kettle brands with all the flavors. Also, Voodoo chips!(If you haven’t had them, try them). The owner is also super nice. The door was sticking and he was very concerned I’d be cold and kept shutting it for me. Probably cause Unilocal is the worst and someone would give him stars off for that. In short, if you consider yourself a fan of sandwiches you will also be a fan of this place.

I held off on ordering here for quite some time and I wish I hadn’t. I ordered one mommy dearest with roast beef and a home for the holidays sandwich. Both were absolutely amazing, and up there as some of the better sandwiches I have had. The bread is fantastic, the sandwiches huge, and the ingredients fresh. The delivery guy was also super friendly. A+

The food is AMAZING. Ordered two sandwiches, and was able to sub things with no hassle. Incredibly friendly owner and nice clean atmosphere.

First time, sandwiches were delicious! Not a place for a first date, but if you’re looking for a great sandwich, this is for you. Had the Dolce Vita and Down By Law with a side of Run Lola Run. All delicious. We’ll be back to try more ;)

Pretty cool sandwich shop with some unique fare. I had the Rocky IV and my girlfriend had the down by law. The rocky was great but could’ve used more roast beef. The down by law tasted great but the bread was a little thick for our taste. I like that turkey bacon is a staple ingredient on the menu, and staff seemed fairly nice and affable. Price is a little high but the sandwiches were made with care, and were well composed. I will be back to try some of the other sandwiches and will always check in to see for any new additions to the menu.

I really really wanted to like this place but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. So I ordered the the Rocky IV& this is a sandwich that they recommended to be really good. It’s pretty much a mashed potato hero. There was hardly any meat & the meat that was there had no flavor, mash was dry, hardly any carrots, provolone had no flavor & overall just a super dry sandwich with a pound of mash. I woulda gave them one star but I ordered the chili & it’s pretty good. I like my chili spicy but I understand most people aren’t into spicy foods. The chili wasn’t super oily & has a good balance of flavor. They include small pieces of garlic bread which work really nice as a scoop for the chili. The staff is really nice. Just please step it up. I would like to try other sandwiches but I’m kinda turned off. Hopefully they can improve the flavor.

I had the down by law(which is a movie i’ve never heard of, wikipedia describes it as a «film centers on the arrest, incarceration, and escape from jail of three men. It discards jailbreak film conventions by focusing on the interaction between the convicts rather than on the mechanics of the escape») which was a solid sandwich. It’s a mix of turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato, and cheese on fluffy sourdough. Bread makes a sandwich and this bread is good. I’d definitely go back to try some of their other fairly creative choices.

You will not leave this place unsatisfied. The owner, chef, maitre d’, and cashier was the same guy. Have a problem? He’ll take care of you. Good service, friendly staff, tasty and unique sandwiches, good chip selection too. They could use a diet soda selection, but I’m not complaining :)

Authentic and creative local sandwiches! A real treat! The menu is cute and the movie theme is intriguing. They do put turkey bacon in a lot of sandwiches, but they have vegetarian and vegan options which is a plus. I ordered the Erin Brokovich which is vegan and as a meat eater, I thoroughly enjoyed how filling and delicious the sandwich was. The crew put a lot of heart into their sandwiches and they make many homemade items from whipped cream to sauces. A fun choice and I hope it stays afloat. Give it a chance next time you’re in Brooklyn.

Awesome choice if you’re up for a heavy duty sandwich with some deliciously unconventional ingredient combos. I come here every week to try and work my way through the menu — but I keep getting sidetracked by my favorites! Safe choice: The Superbad. You won’t regret it.

I had a $ 5 cert and it appeared that Drive in sandwiches no longer wanted to be affiliated with them; however, the gentleman making the sandwiches in the back came out and was gracious enough to accept it. I ordered the top item on the menu, the Rocky 4(roast beef, provolone, with mashed potatoes, onions and carrots on a baguette) for around $ 10 + tax. The sandwich was good and huge. It’s pretty messy though, so make sure to have napkins handy. Worth a try if you’re in the neighborhood. My fave roast beef sandwich is still Defontes. Apropos of nothing, it was a very humid day and they didn’t have air conditioning on. So if you were planning on eating there, you may want to choose a more pleasant day. Also, better take a pass on the certs, as it was my impression that Drive in sandwiches probably won’t honor any future ones.

Stopped by to grab a dinner sandwich on Tuesday. I had the Home for the Holidays(turkey sandwich) and the Ghostbusters(mashed potatoes). The sandwich wasn’t as good as I was expecting(the baguette was a little off), but the mashed potatoes hit the spot. The owner and I chatted for a bit and he mentioned that the combination I got was what he used to eat while dreaming up this place. He recommended dipping the sandwich in the mashed potatoes and that tasted like heaven. Usually I’d give the place a 4 because of the sandwich being sub par(geddit?) but the customer service is incredivle and I’d love to see this place take off. Definitely going back for another round soon.

I had a sandwich was truly excellent here yesterday. Eggs, bacon, and sricacha, but it was only deceptively simple and modest. It was DELICIOUS. The staff seemed genuinely excited for us to be patronizing their shop. Great find! I’ll get sandwiches from here plenty more times in the future!

My boyfriend and I stopped in here late one Sunday night while heading to the train. Both being huge sandwich people, we knew we were going to be in for a treat. Each entrée/side or dessert is named after a movie. I chose the Down by Law. Anything with avocado I die for. I also ordered a side of the fries or a.k.a The Usual Suspects. Which happens to be one of my favorite movies as well. I chose it with Rosemary-Parmesan. My boyfriend got a new sandwich on the menu. Which, please forgive me but I don’t remember the name of it. As we placed our orders to the lovely lady at the counter who was above and beyond customer service. She was so helpful. We had such a blast chatting with her. When our food was ready the chef came out to chat with us as well and was kind enough to offer us some side sauces that he makes all in house to add to our sandwiches and fries if we like. Yes please! As we were waiting for our train we couldn’t resist to start digging in. The fries or shall I say The Usual Suspects with Rosemary and Parmesan were beyond delicious. They were also perfectly fried. Not soggy at all. My Down by Law sandwich was delish. I’m one of those people that don’t really like eating on the subway or the subway platform. But that flew out the window. Same with my boyfriend. We devoured them both along with the fries. Will we becoming back here again? Absolutely!!! Thank you so much for the delicious food.

When you’re trying to find a new unique sandwich — this is honestly the place to go! I’m a constant order out guy whom too often gets Turkey Clubs delivered from Kellogg’s Diner. That’s all very good and all, but its basic. Very basic. But this place. It gives a fresh take on sandwiches. I was delighted to see that the menu wasn’t overwhelming and that there were options for both meat lovers and meat haters. I myself love me some meat(as Michael Scott would say — thats what she said). So I went with the Home for the Holidays. It was so tasty that I would want to order it again next time I went — though, I can’t because I MUST try other sandwiches on the menu. I’d give the sandwich a 8⁄10 — other losing those 2 points due to no other reasoning than I must leave room to rate the other sandwiches higher! My husband got the Natural, which is a fantastic take on grilled cheese. He got it with bacon which popped that sucker up to a 8.5. The home made«hot sauce» is a treat! It’s got a kick but damn is it good. We talked to the front-of-the-house man about deliveries and I *think* we talked him into delivering to us(we’re 15 minutes walk but quick bike ride). So we’ll def be ordering some take out in the future. I highly suggest heading here for a quick bite, and also suggest if you’re with someone trying out 2 different sandwiches and splitting(they’re pretty big!).

Awesome sandwiches! My friend and I decided to check it out for lunch and I’m glad that we did! The movie themed names are so clever. I had Home for the Holiday(turkey sandwich on a baguette with turkey bacon) and the Usual Suspects(french fries… I had the cajun) and they were delicious. The portions were perfect for the price. I can’t wait to go back to try the other sandwiches and fries! I highly recommend this new spot.

Was in the nabe to see a friend, and have heard some good buzz about this place so I stopped in to check it out. It’s pretty adorable inside, drive in movie themed. After a lot of debate(it all looks good) I decided on the ‘Down by Law’(cheese, guac, turkey bacon), and some lemon pepper fries. The Rocky sounded great too, and I kind of wish I had gone with a friend so we could have gotten both and shared. Next time! Anyhoo, DAYUM those fries were DELICIOUS. And the sandwich was just the right balance of gooey salty and crisp. Totally recommended. Good portions, and great ingredients. I am still dreaming about those fries. I’ll for sure be back!

Greasy sandwiches and movies are two of my favorite things ever, so I was excited to try this new little spot with a movie-inspired menu of sandwiches and sides. All of the sandwiches(Feature Presentations), sides(Shorts) and desserts(Credits) are named after movies or related terminology. We went with The Natural($ 6), which is their version of a grilled cheese, and the Back To The Future($ 12). The grilled cheese was pretty delicious, the super gooey, melty kind, on a fluffy, crispy sourdough bread. The Back To The Future on the other hand was not great. Consisting of roasted turkey, turkey bacon, cheddar, an over easy egg and«srirachup»(?), the baguette it was all placed on was the major problem. The bread felt like it was straight from the supermarket, with no real taste or texture that was enjoyable. Also, everything here seem to have turkey bacon on it. It’s not like the stuff is healthy or meat-free, so they should really just do the right thing and use real bacon to vastly improve these sandwiches. We also got The Usual Suspects($ 4.25), which are their fries. We got them Cajun style, and they are served in a Chinese takeout container, which might actually have made them worse, as the first few were decent and crispy, but they quickly became super soggy and unpleasant. I kinda wanted to get The Ghostbusters, because I like that movie, but I didn’t want to get it because it was mashed potatoes. Lastly, we tried one of the desserts, which was extra disappointing given how good it sounded: The Peanut Butter Solution($ 7), consisting of peanut butter, chocolate, bananas and that damn turkey bacon again, on french toast. There wasn’t enough peanut butter and the bread was really weak again, and the turkey bacon of course wasn’t doing anybody any favors. This was a real missed opportunity, as the possibilities are endless with cool things to do with sandwiches and junk food related to movies, and the food here just misses the mark.
