I have tasted different Chinese food take out places and this place was my least favorite for a few reasons and it sucks too because I live so close to it. The food is EXTREMELY Greasy and yes I am aware some Chinese food is greasy but this one is too the next level. Who wants to pick up a noodle with all grease slipping off?! Not me lol The food also didn’t really have a taste too me. I’ve tried chicken and broccoli or like General tso chicken and the chicken had no taste. A few times the chicken tastes like rubber too and it was GROSS! The General tso sauce wasn’t spicy at all and had no taste and was just very gooey. I also got sick from here and tried to give it another try and it was just nasty. After a few times of bad experiences I am never trying it again. Again it’s a shame because it’s right in my area.

I always tell my friends that I hate ordering from these Americanized«Chinese» restaurants because the food that they serve is not authentic Chinese food! But honestly, I do find myself ordering from them from time to time whenever I can’t think of anything else I want to eat lol. Double Happy is my go-to since it’s like a 5 min. walk from my house. It looks just like every other«Chinese» take-out restaurant. I noticed that other reviewers say that the lady in charge is rude but I personally never had a problem with her. The fried chicken here is really good and is usually what I order here! I prefer fried chicken from take-out restaurants as opposed to Popeye’s/KFC because it’s not as salty and doesn’t have the breading on it. The skin is really crispy and the meat isn’t dry either! I’ve also tried the beef and broccoli over pork fried rice and found it to be good as well. The broccoli tasted great when mixed with the sauce but I didn’t really care for the beef. The pork fried rice tasted standard. Overall, I would say this is a pretty great take-out restaurant in the neighborhood!

This place is great. The décor could use some updating but really, no one eats in here. The owners’ kids are usually sitting at the table eating their after school snack and doing their homework. You know, the usual for the American Chinese take out upbringing. Sometimes you’ll catch them outside playing ball. The lady who gets all the orders is a no frills lady. She takes your order and offers no small talk in return. It’s very simple. Her English isn’t that great so if there’s a rush, you might have to listen more intently to understand her. I personally think the food here is great because their rice, both brown and white, are cooked to perfection. When I mean perfection, I really mean to Chinese perfection. It’s exactly the same rice I eat at home. It’s not that American long grain white rice that breaks apart and tastes like soap in other restaurants. This is the stuff I eat at home. That’s why when I’m too lazy to cook, I come here. The broccoli is always cooked to perfection here as well. I never have that MSG overload of thirst when I eat their food. I think that also says something about this place. This is your typical Chinese take out place in every way except they use better ingredients in most of the stuff I order like the usual chicken and broccoli. You can’t expect entirely home cooked meals here. It’s processed to a certain extent. Great food nonetheless.

I used to order food here all the time when I was younger since it was the closest to where I lived. Throughout the years the front person(the ones that you would see when you pick up the food and/or when you come in to order in person) had changed often. Most of them are nice and I remember this one lady she always smiled(and no, after awhile I did not order here as often like every weekend XP so she did not see me often) and super friendly, like someone that did not hate their job(always love that) So anyways about the food– I usually order chicken and broccoli with white rice. Before their chicken used be a bit dry and even the sauce was different. And it’s always a miss or hit when I ordered this because depending on who cooked it, the chicken AND broccoli won’t taste as good. BUT!!! this Friday I ordered… you guessed !! chicken and broccoli with wonton soup since it was the lunch special. OH! apparently they had 6 different soups to choose from! WHATTT??? Idk about you but usually at Chinese fast foods there won’t be much choices for soups maybe 2, 3 at most. The chicken was tender! and the broccoli wasn’t overcooked nor under cook plus they had lots of sauce!!! The sauce isn’t salty or overpowering so it’s totally okay when I am saying that they had lots of sauce. I love that there was actually enough sauce to mix all your white rice(although I didn’t do it cause I’m cutting on my carbs -.-) The wonton soup was… ehhhh …kinda bland .but then again what do you expect from a chinese fast food? They had big pieces of wanton tho! which was the reason I got the wonton soup.
