I received what is by far the worst haircut that I have ever experienced during my time on this planet here. To preface things, I am a black man from the south side of Chicago and as such am pretty sure that I know what a good haircut looks like. If you are also black/non-white and value what your hair looks like then please do not go here. Not only did the«barber» push my lining incredibly far back in the front but he also did so in the back. As a result, I broke out with razor bumps so bad that I was forced to see a dermatologist and have been waiting for what is now 3 weeks for them to disappear so that I can find someone who knows how to cut hair. Also, the ambiance was deplorable. The guy was singing along to the Spanish music that was blasting from the loud speakers directly into my ear. He also never even asked my name or spoke during the entire experience. When I reluctantly handed him what he asked for and more, he rolled his eyes. Please never ever go here, if I had time I would try to get the place closed myself.

I’m new to the neighborhood and did not want to go all the way uptown for a haircut. I walked into this shop and no one paid attention to me. These guys were sitting in their chairs and did not want to cut me. I was thinking to myself I’m going to leave because honestly it was not the cleanest barbershop I’ve been to before. In fact, I’ve been to much swankier places than this. Because this place was a dump. So I was annoyed that I was being ignored, but wait! I was leaving and then jay walked in and asked me if I was being helped. I said no one was helping me and I was about to leave! He gave me a cut! It was sharp and he was very professional! Well an hour ago I come in there to see Jay because I have been going to him for haircuts for the last month or so. They tell me that he is no longer there and never said were he went! They were kind of rude about it once again. Well anyway I started walking back to my car when I walked into Jay! Yay!!! Anyway, he is at Mingo Barbershop at 721 Washington Street down the street from this place. You can also reach him at 718.638.1800.

Excellent cuts here for past 4 years. I’ve been cut by at least 4 different barbers, all talented. Great with clippers, great with scissors, even once had an intricate design cut into my head — took about 2 hours and cost only $ 35.

Walked in to this place, kind of randomly. Needed a hair cut, way overdue. Jay was really professional, asked me what I wanted, and then went to town. There was some loud music, and some character who’s job it seemed to be is to shout a long-winded story about the music to everyone else, it was quite entertaining, since I didn’t understand a word of it, but had to infer from tone. I walked in a hairy mop, and came out trimmed, feeling great. Ask for Jay.

Awesome neighborhood spot. We took our 4-year-old son here to get his first real haircut(we used to cut his hair at home) and Fabian did a great job and was really nice to him. Then, he cleaned up my hair, too. The prices are very good. And it’s usually busy, which is a good sign.

New to the neighborhood. Needed a nice tidy buzz, as I was starting up work at a new spot. It had been a while. So I followed the Unilocal advice and gave a shot to this place. Great service. These guys really know what theyre doing and really want to do the job right. Even a simple buzz took 15 minutes with all the fine detail and edge-cleaning(using a straight razor to get those lines tight is definitely new to me). Would definitely come back here again.

Dope barbers in this place. Robert is my man. Its always pretty stressful trying to find a new barber when you move to a different area but there were a couple good reviews about this place so I decided to try it out. I asked for a low fade with a fadeout on the back to skin. Robert did it perfectly in pretty good time. I waited less than 20 mins for a cut and it took him about 20 do my low fade and a shave. The only thing that irked me was the terrible music. I’m not hating on Dominican music, but this stuff was pretty bad, I might even try to find a different barbershop just to avoid it haha. If you need a solid cut though and don’t mind some awful music, this place is your spot.

The best cut hands down! I’ve been to a lot of places in BK — many are over-priced and provide very poor service, but this place has consistently delivered very nice cuts.
