Terrific store with a old style general store feel. Expensive and noosa yogurt is twice the price as anywhere else. However the product and the local produce as well as décor has a great ambiance.

Tasty sandwich but it’s more than $ 10 for a tiny sliver of a sandwich that’s pretty light on the ingredients. I tried the pastrami and I’ve had the prosciutto. The are a lot of places where $ 10 will get you a larger sandwich that is higher quality and a side. If it was the only place around I might go again but with so many other options it is absolutely not worth going. Cider doughnut was also bad. I didn’t know cider doughnuts could be bad.

This place seems wonderful, but it is extremely over priced. The staff seems like a bunch of chickens running around with no heads, not very helpful at all and there are always 30 people back there doing who-knows-what. Just spent 10 minutes in line, in order for a typical Williamsburg-ite to skip me in line and then wait again, then for the staff to of course, be unhelpful.

I live around the corner so obviously when I’m craving morning coffee and croissants, Depanneur is a no brainer. I’ve had great experiences here but today I had a terrible one that leaves me asking myself, do I really need to get my morning coffee here? I went in to grab some pastries before going home, nothing difficult about that task. Asked the guy at the register for a ham & cheese and 2 chocolate croissants. He then charges me $ 15 which I find weirdly expensive for 3 items. I asked how it came out to be $ 15 and he said, «Oh because you ordered 2 ham and cheese and 2 chocolate croissants.»…No I did not. After correcting him he RETORTS«Yes you did order 2.» As a person who works in customer service, that is NOT what you tell a paying customer. He had to have another colleague step in to refund me the money and then he continues to just give me one of each after that entire ordeal. I then told him I ordered 2 chocolate and he lazily throws it into a paper bag like I did something wrong. I’ve never experienced such disrespect(including no apologies) from the staff here. Goodbye Depanneur you are NOT worth it whatsoever.

tl;dr– great food but for the price, you need to value taste over speed and polite staff. Depanneur would get 5 stars if the review criteria were limited to the quality of selection and taste of its food. The sandwiches are really great and the variety of fine grocery items is solid. However, Depanneur loses one star because the staff is pretty unfriendly. Sometimes it’s to the point where you might think to apologize to the person taking your order for having inconvenienced him/her. Definitely uncomfortable and basically has left ordering from Depanneur only through Seamless. The other lost star is a result of the speed — really, the lack of speed. An order for a single cold sandwich placed at their counter can take 15 – 20 mins after 2 pm. I can’t imagine what the 12 – 2 wait time is like.

I don’t really know what to say about Depanneur except that I wish I could eat here every day until I die. The fig spread, prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich makes me ridiculously happy every. single. time.

The quality cannot justify the expense. Almost $ 5 for a decent iced coffee, $ 10 for a sandwich with less than a quarter inch of meat. Go somewhere where your dollar is valued.

A grocery that carries White Mustache yogurt and Short Stack Editions is a dream. One that serves coffee and sandwiches, too, is even better. I only wish that I could take Depanneur and transplant it in Chicago.

Pretty darn good sandwiches. I have never visited in person — just gotten delivery — but the boiled egg and beet sandwich is a favorite of mine. The only downside is that, for some reason, they always seem to take forever to deliver! Knowing that, though, ordering well in advance of being hungry helps with that issue.

How have I lived around the corner from Depanneur for the last 5 months and never been until today?! I walk my dog past it every single day, but it wasn’t until my roommate told me to try their turkey sandwich that I actually walked in. I went about half an hour before closing, and was there just in time to order a sandwich. It was absolutely delicious, and I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu. A little on the pricy side, but their ingredients are super high quality, and the service is great as well. Kind of scared, now that I know they’re so close by…

I have been living in this neighborhood for several years and have enjoyed having Depanneur here. I preferred the pastries when they were getting them from Roberta’s and have not been as impressed with the current selection, although it is quite large. I LOVETHATTHEYCARRYJENI’S ICECREAM. This is one of the only reasons that I still go to Depanneur. Now that there are more grocery stores in the area, I frequent Depanneur much less because of the exorbitant pricing. I also really love the card selection that they carry!

Coffee is delicious here! Sometimes the lines are a little long sometimes but the wait is worth it. The croissants are delicious ! They have a lot of different products to purchase. Particularly for making mixed drinks. Like ginger beer, spiced old fashioned mix etc. The cheese section makes me so hungry even when I’m full!

The vibe in this adorable corner store is unreal! The staff is very friendly and takes care of their neighbors. It is pricey, but you have to keep in mind you are buying the best of the best Almond butters, olive oils, organic raw chocolate. I happen to stop in on my way home from work the other night and was offered any of the baked goods they had left over from the day. So for locals who love buttery deliciousness, make sure to stop in around closing for FREESTUFF! you’re welcome ;D

Nothing is bad in taste here but everything is over priced for how I personally would like Brooklyn to be. It is not a café but it is basically grocery and deli place and not ment to be stay and seat and to have some relaxed time. The menu is well considered and taste good, but many items here is also sold in other part of wiliamsburg. Somehow you can find Mast Brother’s chocolates while the mast brother;s is only few blocks away. Their brewed coffee tastes same as the Modca which was the closest café from this location. It is sour and less aroma compared to café Oslo or verb(which is unfortunately ran out their business). According to my friend, their iced coffee was okay.

I always wanted to find a place where I could buy a la carte laundry detergent! While I do find some of the items they sell ridiculous and ridiculously overpriced, I get it, it’s Brooklyn. You’re going to pay a little extra for the location and the quality of the food they are serving. I must say that the cheese selection was very impressive for a small corner store away from 6th and all the craziness of that area. The coffee is solid. I’ve had a few of the breakfast pastries and they have been pretty good as well. Small but high quality to-go beer selection in the coolers towards the back. The staff is generally friendly. Overall this place is A-Ok. I wouldn’t do my regular shopping here, but it’s nice if you need something in a pinch or want to treat yourself.

Fabulous little hipster corner deli! Fine and unique foods for cooking and consuming immediately. Always a line. If you can find a table, sit outside under the awning! I ordered the #4, lady says it’s the best!

A friend visiting from London was majorly craving a deli sandwich — apparently those are hard to find across the pond. But instead of taking our chances on a sketchy bodega, we decided to class it up a bit and go to this fancy version of a corner store. Before noon on a Saturday there was already a long line winding down the store of people wanting these delicious sandos. I got the turkey and the roast beef to share with my husband, and I have to say that I wish I got two turkeys because it was SO good! But there’s much more to this place than sandwiches. They have every fancy food item you never knew you wanted: upscale Bloody Mary mix, designer chocolates, and beautiful pastries behind the counter. The one downside was the cranky guy manning the espresso machine who barked at us to step away from him(even though there was a counter separating us) as we were waiting for our orders. That, and the sandwiches took a long time to make, though I don’t truly blame them for that because like I said it was a very busy day. Small detractions from an otherwise pleasant and very delicious experience.

DePanneur is a small corner store that has a lot to pack in. If you are seeking local artisan — mostly Brooklyn-made — food, then look no further. From Owl’s Brew mixers, to Mast Brothers chocolate and many other local foods, DePanneur has much to offer. But, they aren’t just a market. They offer a full coffee bar, including espresso, coffee, mochas and more, and a full selection of decadent sandwiches. The sandwiches aren’t just thrown together and take time to make, so if you can, order in advance on Seamless(when you get there, you can skip the line to pick up and go). Try the #4 Turkey Sandwich on Multi-Grain(you have to request it). That’s our usual and unless there’s a special of the day that looks appetizing, I rarely steer away from it. If you’re looking for the sandwich special, it’s on their Facebook page. They also carry a daily variety of soups so definitely stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

I love specialty stores that serve delicious food and have wide selections. The local products are a nice Brooklyn touch. I rode my Citi bike here this summer and parked directly across the street. That was a nice bonus. There are great sandwiches made to order, charcuterie, cheeses, coffees, cookbooks, and cleaning products. Come in for some nice gourmet items, have a coffee and grab a yummy sandwich. Oh, their boquerones are wonderful too.
