Potentially nice, but often annoying. The service is consistently good; solicitous but not in-your-face, which should be commended. I also like the food OK – consistent sandwich-and-greens type deals with fresh bread – but am incensed that they just raised all the prices by $ 2 – 4 for basic bistro dishes that just don’t warrant a $ 20+ sit-down experience. Couleur is a loud, shabby-chic(to put it generously!) café on a somewhat charmless stretch of 7th Avenue, but still charges a restaurant-level $ 16 for a salad. It’s insane that you can buy a good bottle of wine across the street for less than you’d pay for a sandwich here. Also, the acoustics are a friggin’ nightmare! Gabbing mommies-who-lunch raise their voices to a yell above the clanging dishes and espresso machine. No offense to them, but it makes you feel like you’re sitting in their living room, rather than paying to be at a café. Moreover, no conversations are private. You might be trying to relax with a coffee, but instead find yourself embedded in someone’s sales pitch, awkward date, or gossip sesh. They need to seriously consider carpets!

Cute and local. Very small, kitchen is tiny so if they are busy it may take a while to get your order. Service is usually good. Food and coffee are pretty good as well. This place represents Park Slope so much, it’s always full of kids and strollers.

What a terrific local café! The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, with fresh produce and delicious bread. Very nice ambiance, with a similarly nice staff. It’s great to have this café in the neighborhood.

It’s a cute little place. Only came here for desserts. Had their crepes and it was pretty good.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, and since I had a random Friday off I decided to stop in for breakfast. Cute place, good music. The floor staff is a little scattered. But who in the world puts deli ham on Eggs Benedict?! Not worth the $ 12. I’ll stick with Dizzy’s

Go here. Just, go here. Their food is wonderful: fresh and delicious. I bring people here for brunch often and have always been well taken care of by the servers and totally pleased with my whole experience. Chèvre salad is great and the drinks are amazing.

Love this place for breakfasts. Simple, fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced. Cute space. Friendly service. Feels European in a Brooklyn kind of way. It’s not a diner.

I really like Couleur Café — the food, ambiance, staff is all great. Once in a blue moon some wait staff isn’t the most friendly but overall I go there once a week right now. It’s a great place to work, eat and have a date. They are open at night and THAT Is a GREAT time to go. GREAT music, ambiance and all!

Love the vibe, food and coffee. A casual and quaint spot, it’s one of my favorite places for weekend brunch. I only gave them a 4 because I feel some of their food items are a bit overpriced.

It’s adorable and the pastries are fantastic, but everything is so over-priced! A crossiant with egg and cheese for $ 12.45? I’m sorry, but there are so many places of equal quality that charge half of that for the same thing. I seriously just had sticker shock at this place and will not be returning.

Cozy, but this place is really over-priced for what it is. Come on guys, your food is not $ 16 – 18 per dish worthy.

Certainly my neighborhood favorite. Food is delicious, prepared hot, service is very good. At times they have freshly baked good(haven’t tried them but smells good). There are often Park Slope family there, which includes toddlers, so your experience may vary :)

This place is absolutely adorable. Service is great. Nutella mocha will make you swoon. Had the eggs florentine for the first time and all I can say is I’m definitely coming back here again. Soon.

I like this place, it’s very cute, cozy and the service was great. Came here for breakfast just last week and we enjoyed our food. The place is small so come early and grab a table, seat yourself and someone will come by with a menu. We went on a weekday, so it wasn’t crowded but I can only imagine the chaos on weekend brunch! Food: we got eggs benedict and crepes(Latin quarter, crêpe w Nutella and banana), plain croissant and chai tea latte, and a French press coffee. Food was decent but really weak coffee. We’ve had better eggs benedict and crepes elsewhere but this place has a very intimate homely feel to it. Service was very nice, the waitress forgot our croissant and gave it to us on the house. I would come back for Brunch!

I had such a great time! Its warm atmosphere(bistrot décor with some homy details), lovely music, and delicious food made this rainy cold evening a more pleasant one! I was alone, and it felt good being there by myselg. I will certainly come back!

This place is fantastic. The egg croissant is redic. They use mostly organic ingredients and make their own soups and baked goods. Coffee is great also. The owners passion for the food and what he does really shows. I heard him collaborating with someone over new menu items and I can’t wait to see what they come up with. Lucky to have this place in the hood.

Coffee was excellent: eggs benedict were not, at least not by my standards. The hollandaise-the heart of the dish-was thin, almost watery. Meant to be a rich, thick sauce.

Overdue review. I have stopped by Couleur Café almost every morning after my morning run for some hot or iced coffee. As the weather started turning nice in April, I came here more often for both breakfast and lunch. The ambiance is great, very low key yet cute. It is an excellent place to go for some coffee and food while getting work done. The service is great. I haven’t had to wait very long for any of my orders. I also have to say that the coffee served here is probably close to the best I have had in Park Slope. I also like the European touch on their food, big portions but not filling. The only complaint I have, on behalf of my Parisian roommate, is that the menu has a lot of grammar errors. I never would have noticed. The first meal I had here was the grilled cheese with fresh fruit. Let’s just say I wasn’t feeling very great that day(Sunday around brunch time). But the grilled cheese was good. Better than I first expected. The second time I had the Ham And Swiss Cheese Croissant Sandwich, which also was good. The prices were very reasonable. If you are in Park Slope and simply looking for something quick to eat and don’t want to go to Starbucks or the other local coffee stores filled with pastries, Couleur Café is for you!

My friend and I were walking along 7th ave. We wanted salads. So we stopped by here. Very cute ambience. On the pricier side… it was 14 $ for a fairly small chicken salad. Small, but delicious and beautifully plated. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Chicken breast, Swiss cheese, tomato, avocado, arugula, red pepper. I’ll go back when I’m in the area.

Adorable spot. No outlets. Good coffee. Awesome feel :) Great service. I sat doing work and I felt very comfortable. There’s also food and booze. The only thing I wasn’t happy about is how long my crêpe took… Crepes are usually made really quickly… But they were delicious! Worth the wait. Also, the salmon croissant sandwich is unbelievable. I was in heaven!!! Wow.

I come here mostly for their sweet ass honey chai latte, but I have also been here for coffee and food and everything is pretty solid. A perfect sandwich and a cuppa kinda café. They serve drinks in like big ol ceramic bowls and it kind of makes me uncomfortable because maybe I’m more OCD than I ever realized, but then again it makes me feel like I’m getting more bang for my buck so, well played Couleur Café. Usually a chill atmosphere with not too many bratty kids, a good mix of adults who are just trying to read a paper and well behaved kids for the most part. At night the place has a slightly more romantic vibe– not exactly fancy but sandwiches by candlelight kinda thing. Staff is always friendly but not up in your business, I can appreciate that as well. Points for the Serge Gainsbourg reference name.

Ehhhhh, wanted to spend the day with my mom. And I just moved into the neighborhood and just stumbled upon this café. Nice décor, friendly staff but other than that, nothing exciting. My mom loved her food but my grilled cheese was cold.

The food is really good, totally worth the money. I got to say that the atmosphere is a little to small and tables are to close to each other, which makes it uncomfortable because you could be having brunch with a complete stranger that decided to sit next to you’re table. Other then that very good quality of food and defiantly looking forward to go back again

This place is the bomb. I had passed it a few times before so of course I turned to Unilocal to see what the word was. It read good so I stopped by with my best friend. The place is beautiful. The décor is fantastic and the old rustic architecture is stunning. The hardy wood tables and old fashioned chairs are awesome. Now, to the food. Excellent. I had the salmon and cream cheese croissant, a coffee and than later a blush wine. Our server was pleasant, polite and checked on us regularly. They provide a fresh pitcher(glass bottle) of water so you can refresh as needed. I had a great time there and would love to come again, and again. The eye art work on the ceiling of the bathroom is weird though.
