Fast and affordable. I have found the soups with noodles and dumplings to be the secret stars on the menu. The portions are quite large, and the small size is quite enough for me. When I lived in Los Angeles, I missed places like this.

Food was made quickly and was less greasy than most fast food Chinese restaurants. Some of the dishes were one dimensional, but overall, a very good eating experience. Staff was very warm and welcoming, unlike most Chinese restaurants. Portions were generous for their price point. We will be returning.

This place have been around for at least 25 years … Reason? Good food and nice and big place for a party or a sit down dinner with normal prices(or cheap when you consider a good quality of their food). When I lived in the area — this was the place to go. Now I do make a extra trip from Queens just to order here. Wanton soup(delicate with greens inside) as well as Hot sour is great(just the way it should taste). General Tso Chicken is awesome … Take out always with utensils and sauces, that you do not need to ask for every time. They accept Amex and other cards. Other places could learn from this place … BUT then they would need to bring quality into their food… rather then just close /reopen under a new name …

When it comes to Chinese food in Greenpoint, it doesn’t get better than Chinese Musician. I’ve been ordering delivery from them from 3 years and never experienced any issues. The service is punctual, the combos are well-priced and delicious, and I almost never think about my estranged wife when I’m enjoying their delectable seseame chicken. The pork fried rice is very good and the dumplings are some of the best that I’ve ever had in the area. I’ve been going out to eat more since Jessica took the kids, and I have to say that the dining area is well-maintained. The lighting is a bit harsh and there’s not much in the way of decoration, but the staff is so welcoming and friendly that I would much rather be there than my suddenly empty home. All in all, I’m a big supporter of Chinese Musician, especially when it comes to take out. If you are a soup person, the lunch specials are definitely worth checking out. I stopped ordering the Lo Mein because, that’s what I was eating when my wife told me that she was leaving and I now associate the taste with the horrible memory of her revealing that my son might actually be someone named Burton’s, but I wish I hadn’t because the noodles are always cooked perfectly and the pieces of pork are pretty generously sized. 9.5÷10; should definitely be a delievery staple if you live in Greenpoint.

The food is consistently very good. Don’t believe the negative reviews. I eat here often and have never had a bad meal. Places like this are becoming increasingly rare in nyc due to gentrification, greenpoint in particular. Go there while you still can. Good food, moderate prices, nice atmosphere.

I hate to write bad reviews as the delivery guy was super nice and the person I spoke to on the phone. But the food is not good at all. New to the area and needing some takeout I thought we would give this a go as people int he area seem to think its ok, so took a stab and went for it. Before I start coming from Melbourne Australia and having lived previously in an ethnic neighborhood where chinese and vietnamese food were some of the best I have ever eaten world over I have high standards. I can’t understand how here in NY where there are so many ethnicities that the chinese and viet food here is sub par(that said I’m still yet to go to Flushing where I hear real chinese exists). It’s crazy. And this whole ‘American chinese’ food situation is rubbish, I’m sorry but it is. We ordered wonton soup(the blandest wonton soup I have ever had, I think the baby spinach they add to it adds to the flavor of what its not supposed to taste like. I didn’t even attempt a wonton I pretty much threw it all out. Shrimp toast, the only place in NYC so far that actually has shrimp toast on its menu, we were super excited as we love it and can never find it. It was horrible, dry and rubbery and not sure what the toast part was made of. We tried to eat a couple but threw the rest out. The general tso chicken was big chunks of battered chicken that was a bit too much, the sauce was nice enough and thats what we mainly ate. It came with roast pork fried rice, i have never seen fried rice look like this, it was yellow and dry and we couldn’t eat it. The sesame chicken was standard like the general one however the sauces pretty much tasted the same, something you would find in a food court but not from a restaurant, the broccoli underneath was dead and brown and gross. The egg roll was a massive frozen number and not worth mentioning. I wanted this place to be good but its not at all. We won’t eat from here again. If anyone thinks this is good food then they have a weird palate and don’t know what good again food really is. So still on the look out for some decent chinese food, back to the drawing board.

Currently going through a pretty intense Chinese food phase.(Have managed to eat it at LEAST3x/wk this whole month.) This place is great — delivery is always fast, the staff is always friendly, the food is good. Usually just alternate between basics — pepper steak & onions, and chicken & broccoli. The pan fried dumplings are pretty awesome. Not too many places I really care to get them at. Only issue I’ve had in the past is inconsistency in how they prepare certain dishes. Think it was the chicken with spinach and garlic sauce.

Delivery took a while. Ordered off grubhub and the food arrived about 1hr and 15 minutes later. They’re nice and there’s a lot of food. I got a large chicken noodle soup, dumplings, and a sesame chicken combo. It lasted me for 4 meals. And I enjoyed all of them.

Average Chinese food with a great delivery range, good prices and solid portion size. I would definitely drunkly order from this place again at midnight — that kind of place.

The food was average. I ordered sesame shrimp which is exactly what sesame chicken is just substitute meat. There was about 6 shrimp pieces and majority was broccoli. It tasted good but it was extremely disappointing that I had to fish out the shrimp and broccoli out of water… Yeah water, NOT sauce. I couldn’t even eat the broccoli because it was drowning in water and I am not sure why. Other than that I thought the food was ok but definitely not the best Chinese I’ve had

We were excited because the delivery was SO fast — only 25 mins! However, the Sesame Chicken was burnt(like totally black). I ordered brown rice and they sent white. The Steamed Bork Bun was so dry and tasted like paper — probably frozen and popped in a microwave. Egg roll had no texture — was just mushy! Won’t order again :/

I wish I can say great things about their food, since the proprietors are so nice, the prices are reasonable, the portions are large and there are comfortable booths to sit in(old school) — but I can’t. The only reason why I came in here was because I saw that they toted dim sum and a variety of Cantonese style dishes… and they allowed me to bring in my bike and park it next to me while I ate/surfed the web with their one hour free guest wi-fi(from TW). I ordered the Pan Fried Noodles with Seafood, Chicken and Beef. Pan fried noodles with Seafood is a traditional Cantonese style dish. Because most general non-regional Chinese restaurants prepare American Chinese food(similar to Wo Hop crap), the best way to determine the quality of the cooking is by ordering a well known, often prepared traditional dish of the proprietor’s/ chef’s region. Plus I like to play it safe and order something that I know wold be prepared well. Unfortunately my fool proof ordering plan was proven wrong. The server(a really amiable older Chinese guy) got the order wrong. He brought out beef over pan friend noodles(with thick brown sauce). Usually, Pan friend noodles come with a white or seafood sauce of some sort). But no worries– I let the owner know and he brought out an extra helping of seafood… in salty dark brown sauce. It was not appealing at all. Then the noodles– thin double pan fried noodles(similar to ramen noodles) — were obviously low quality. Sigh. Okay. I let it go and asked to take the food to go– Making sure to ask the server to get rid of all the sauce so it wouldn’t leak in my bag. Another mistake– I put the food in my bag and it leaked. It just got worse and worse. I actually gave the server a good tip– but honestly he got it because he was sweet and kind. But as a server, he pretty much sucks. I also wouldn’t order that dish again– I would stick with their lunch specials and leave it at that.

Chinese musician stands out in the crowd of lackluster american style chinese takout/delivery that is available in Greenpoint. Their prices are competitive yet their food quality is a bit higher than anyone else that will deliver. Delivery is fast. My favorites include the boneless spare ribs, cold noodles with peanut sauce, and string beans in brown sauce.

I have chinese food issues in NY, especially in non-Chinatown areas. How am I supposed to get my fix? Well, I’ve found a place that works pretty well. It’s the best Chinese I’ve found in the area anyway. I got the orange chicken and my boyfriend got beef and broccoli, but were delicious as they should be. Not amazing or anything but definitely delicious. Their white rice was awesome… like I made it at home myself awesome. It was hard, wasn’t too dry, wasn’t too crumbling, but just right. The price is right too. TLDR: If you’re looking for good chinese in the Williamsburg area, check out this place.

This place is just… okay. When I don’t have any cash(and, therefore, unable to order from other, closer Chinese take-out places), I’ll order from here since they take credit cards. I’ve gone to eat here a few times in the past and the service has always been very good when I choose to eat in. The past few times that I have ordered from here, though, the food has been pretty unremarkable. Their general tso’s tofu left a lot to be desired and was way too breaded and heavy for me. Their portions are quite large and delivery times are quite quick. I suppose they’ve been having a string of lackluster nights and I’d be willing to give them a try again.
