Come check out the new location. Used to be a casual hole in the wall on DeKalb and has moved next door into a beauty corner location. Not fine dining but more of a French comfort food concept. Everything on the menu is good and it’s a casual spot to spend a couple of hours. Service is friendly; a real neighborhood place.

Café Paulette is an adorable, intimate little French bistro in Fort Greene with a delicious weekend brunch. Though the menu is limited to just about 6 or 7 entrée options, that does not help narrow the selection. I almost always opt for lunch foods at brunch, so I recommend the burger. And the raspberry mimosa was so refreshing.

Brunch Sunday. Nothing extra ordinary. Very simple and small menu. I had omelette with kalemera and cheese with roasted potatoes. Three star for organic ingredients.

Spineless frog cried about an empty Starbucks cup of coffee I was finishing off when we walked in because«they sell coffee». Well needless to say we ate at Café Vino.

Had an lovely dinner here with friends. Packed, but we got a table in just a few minutes. I had a fresh, creamy anchovy & kale Caesar salad(so, so, so good). The olive plate appetizer was a bit more than the three of us could eat, but delicious. And the crème brûlée? Never have I tasted such an amazing CB. You could go just for that. But then you’d miss out on a yummy dinner and great wine.

Nice little place in Ft Greene section of Brooklyn. Visited this morning with my daughter for brunch. She had the Avocado Toast and I had the Omelette special. Both dishes were excellent. My only issue is that they had no cream for coffee, only whole or almond milk. Not sure how a place that specializes in brunch doesn’t have cream, but that was the case.

Great location, especially if you are attending a BAM performance, but definitely has a neighborhood feel to it. Fronts a park, also has sidewalk dining, great food. I especially loved the cheese plate in place of dessert. My SO did share one bite of her mousse. Service is attentive without being hovering or pushy.

Phenomenal brunch. Small cozy atmosphere. Raspberry mimosas hit the spot. I had an awesome avocado toast, poached egg, arugula, and roasted red peppers. My friend had an original eggs Benedict and insisted it was better than other places. It fills up quick. The food was Luke warm but the taste was amazing.

A charming small restaurant/café/bar at the edge of Ft. Greene Park. Jazz plays in background. I’ve been on several occasions. Hamburger excellent, but last night had the tomato garlic soup and the pork belly –crispy edges with tender insides covered w/radicchio, mesclun and what tasted like a ponzu sauce. Really good. Perfect for a cold night.

One bite into the steak au poivre and my eyes close reflexively, allowing my senses to focus solely on the play of perfect flavors on my tongue. Call me dramatic, but the last time this happened to me with French food was actually in France. Even the ambience at Café Paulette – homey, full of character and charm– was reminiscent of the small Parisian restaurant where I had this moment. It is evident that the one who prepares this food does so with experience, creativity, and love. To warm ourselves up we started with the winter special raclette: melted, gooey cheese paired with sweet pickled vegetables and cured meats. For mains we ordered the burger and the steak. While the burger was delicious and well-seasoned, it was my steak au poivre that stole the show. As a matter of fact, it’s pure cocaine. Tender meat and potatoes au gratin wading in light yet creamy peppercorn sauce, and accompanied by a genius medley of greens(red watercress, tarragon, chervil, and parsley) to set it all off. We fought with ourselves to order dessert, having gorged ourselves but not wanting to miss out. We were so happy we did because the coconut crème caramel was heaven. Ever sat down with an old friend in that unassuming little neighborhood restaurant and end up having one of the best meals ever? That, my friend, is the Café Paulette experience.

What a hidden gem ! Fantastic view, overlooking Fort Greene Park, we were transported in Paris. Small and intimate, perfect for a date with my wife. They have some really nice daily specials(try the raclette) and a very well curated list of natural wines. The staff was friendly and professional.

I had an amazing time at Café Paulette. Kale salad was delicious. Roasted chicken was tender, juicy. The owner(a funny guy) is very accommodating and makes you feel at home. Will definitely go back to try their steak frites.

My friend and I came here for brunch on a Sunday. The restaurant is quite small, so the tables are close together which makes you feel a little cramped. Regardless, the service was pleasant and swift. My friend had the Avocado Toast and I had the burger. Both were decently sized portions and very tasty. We also both had raspberry mimosas which were very refreshing. I’d recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a quaint, quiet brunch spot. Nothing spectacular, but I would return if I was in the neighborhood.

Pro: $ 1 oyster happy hour 4 – 6 pm daily Con: staff a bit rude — I have been there multiple times and they are never nice ALSO it took them 35 minutes to shuck a dozen oysters. That’s over 2 minutes an oyster. Unfortunate because we were planning on ordering more oysters(just starting slow to not overwhelm the kitchen) but by the time we got the first dozen I was ready to call it quits. Overall: the oysters were good but the owner needs to work on the staff, especially service.

At here last week and was so excited for this meal. Sadly, the only thing I walked away with was a buzz from the bottle of wine. My friends and I ordered the escargot, mussels, tuna Niçoise salad, and the salmon sandwich. –Escargot was a bit gritty but sauce was amazing and THEBREAD! –Mussels lacked some flavor but did the job. –tuna Niçoise salad was great but for the price it was small. — salmon sandwich was okay. It is a cute spot for a nice drink and maybe a small plate but don’t think I’ll dine there again for dinner

Nice brunch and nice little spot, but it was just okay. I have been to other spots around the neighborhood that I still remember what I had vividly unlike here. It’s same since it’s really cute, but I’m not dying to go back, especially given all the other options nearby.

The beautiful presentation of the photos posted on Unilocal were the reason we sought this place out for brunch. We were sorely mistaken. The Place: It was 90 degrees out and with windows open, flies and knats were roaming freely. We came not expecting Michelin star joint but that’s not how we wanted to start our Sunday brunch. The Food: The burger with roasted potatoes and pain perdu we ordered looked NOTHING like the photos. The pain perdu were 4 pieces of thinly sliced, soggy, underdone brioche French toast. Someone should explain to the chef that Pain Perdu is typically made with stale baguette, NOT brioche. The burger was average and does not warrant a $ 16 price tag… Btw we never got the roasted potatoes we specially requested. The Verdict: We came to this place hoping to find a hidden gem but left feeling deceived by the photos seen on Unilocal. One and done.

We stumbled into this restaurant after being turned down by several restaurants during their changeover period between brunch and dinner. Although this restaurant was going through the same changeover, they did offer oyster happy hour during this down hour. Being a lover of oysters and wine, this seemed like a solid solution while waiting to order full meals. The service was really friendly here, but somewhat confusing. To be such a small place, we had atleast 4 different staff members waiting on us during the visit. Quite frankly it felt like everyone was running with their heads chopped off for a while… and with all of the people we still didn’t receive our oysters for atleast 30 minutes(that’s likely an understatement) though we were the only people in the restaurant initially. That’s a bit long for shucking 12 oysters. I respect the changeover, but if you say that oysters are not effected by this period, I expect that they will actually be available in a timely fashion. If the timing is needed for cleaning and preparation, just don’t give the option. The positive from this was that the timing allowed us to order our main entrée and have it ready by the time we finished our oysters. Once the food came out and the kinks were fixed, the food was actually tasty. I had the mussels and my friend had the steak. It’s a small place and they turned a few people away because they had pending reservations. As a result I assume it’s best to get here early. Good addition to the neighborhood and perhaps once the Managament kinks are ironed out it will be a great place. This could easily be a 4 star place, but for now it’s difficult.

Had dinner last night at 8p w 4 ppl. The place was full which I was glad to see. We were seated immediately as I made a reservation(so would reco you book even though it used to be a quiet gem) They didn’t have the stuff tomato special but did have tilefish and chicken paillard. Not sure what happened during brunch but they were out of bread — I mean the good French kind and the buns for the burger. The food was still good but service was overwhelmed. The burgers were not cooked as ordered. Plates weren’t provided. My chicken was undercooked — i sent it back for reheating and when i looked today at my leftovers, chicken was still undercooked in the middle. I’m going to give this place one more chance bc they are really good but this is bad news for sure.

Had a Brunch date. Food is good. Was a little bit disappointed about the Chakchouka. It was not what i saw on the Unilocal picture. The place was cute. Love Fort Green. I liked the atmosphere. It’s a small menu for Brunch. I’m putting a 5⁄5 because my date was really cool. Otherwise I would have put a little 4.

Cute little hole in the wall at the mouth of fort green. When we first stopped by they had a three piece jazz band playing and several people chilling out at the bar. We had Poulet piccata with arugula and tomato and the organic grass fed burger with potatoes. The chicken piccata was huuuuge and a touch on the acidic side. Maybe a touch more butter to temper the lemon juice Would balance it a bit more. Eating the chicken on its own was difficult, but balanced well with the addition of the arugula. Also when I say the chicks was huge I mean I had a whole butterflied chicken breast on my plate. Good value for what we paid($ 17) but still pretty overwhelming when it first arrives at the table, Husbands burger was ordered mid-rare and cooked to perfection. Served with a roast garlic aioli and cheddar it was definitely rich but delicious. My only complaint here would be that it may have been a touch over seasoned — it was pretty salty. We both finished our meals however and had the sweetest little server who was so friendly and kept our waters filled. Cutest receipts on postcards. Definitely worth checking out, and below the price point of the rest of the neighbourhood. Love it

The first time I came here, it was awful. I would have given the place one star. However, I’m giving it four. I returned only because a friend whose tastes I trust highly told me to go back and give them another try. I’m glad I did. Why it was awful the first time I don’t exactly remember, but I do know the server was a bit rude and unattentive(I haven’t seen her since so maybe she was fired) and the food seemed lackluster on that day. But ever since I’ve been going back, I am reminded that it must have been an off-day. This place is otherwise fantastic– super charming and cozy. The french owners /staff are really funny and warm and friendly. And the food is quite good, and they have a small but solid and affordable well-curated wine list. Definitely a very authentic French vibe; it’s obvious as I often hear French speakers hanging out there having a glass of wine, so it seems to be the hot spot for French people and Francophiles like myself. ;) The atmosphere is something special– the kind of place you’ll see friends greeting each other over a glass of wine and smiling and then a little ember will ignite in your heart reminding you that it’s good to be alive. Ya know? One last thing: the burger is amazing! I can’t call it the best in NYC only because it’s a different experience: it definitely has a French spin on it that makes it unique and different from all the rest. But it’s really. damn. good. And trust me, I am a burger connoisseur.(And to my dearest vegetarians: they have some fantastic veggie dishes as well!) And come on, patio seating right across from Fort Greene park? Could you be more damn cute? I’ll take it.
