This place has really changed. I’m writing this review while currently waiting 25 min and counting for my entrée. Last year I came here and loved it. You could order pancakes anytime etc. The menu changes are no big deal. My problem is, there are currently 6 tables of people. A group that came in 10 min ago has just been served and I’m still waiting. Great pancakes and all but I will Not return. I’m extremely disappointed. Last year I came. Enjoyed the service, met the owner etc. Now idk what happened, there’s no crowd and service sucks. If you guys like drinking on an empty stomach, having a salad, then waiting 40 minutes for an entrée come here! It was empty when I got here. There’s a 2hr maximum on parking and I’ve had to add time. Completely disgusted and. disappointed.

Had brunch there for my daughter’s birthday recently. The food was excellent! Especially the pancakes – and I’m a pancake snob! They also have a very nice garden in the back for al fresco dining. My only negative comment is that they’re skimpy on the serving of Iced Coffee. They put it in a wine glass full of ice, seemed like a measly 4oz of coffee. You hear that LULUc? Step up your Iced Coffee game! ;-) But that won’t stop me from returning. In fact, I can’t wait!

Another for the French toast list(see my profile for all of the spots in NYC that have FT worth eating)! The Nutella French toast here is on point, and I loved the pancakes as well, which had perfectly fried edges. If you manage to finish the portions here by yourself, I salute you. For my friends and I, it couldn’t be done, though we wanted to feast on these carbs for eternity. Great sangria and mimosas, too.

This place was quite a nice breakfast spot. Not too busy for a Sunday brunch, but it was a holiday weekend, so maybe the usual crowd was out of town. My only regret is not getting the pancakes(though the scrambled eggs with salmon was quite good, I had a taste of my wife’s pancakes and those were definitely the real stand-out).

I tried this place with my husband a couple years ago and then popped by again a few months ago with my parents, grandmother, and sister for a quick lunch. Although it was a weekday, the place was packed at lunchtime, but once we were added to the list, it moved fairly quickly. As others have emphasized, the pancakes are fluffy, delectable – excellent. We all ordered entrée salads but also got a single pancake to share. I highly recommend this plan. Of the salads, the chickpea and grilled tiger shrimp salads were big hits, but my tuna Niçoise salad basically had canned tuna and was fairly underwhelming. Pros: delicious pancake and most salads, food came out very quickly. Cons: Niçoise salad. Overall, a more delicious experience than the last time we came here a few years ago, but still not a place I would make an effort to come back to again and again. If I were in the area, though, and needed a fairly quick lunch(OR A PANCAKE), this would be a safe bet.

This place was AWESOME. I had an omelette and my dad had some of the best butteriest pancakes I have ever had. Definitely coming back to try everything else on the menu. Oh and the food came in literally 10 minutes.

Really wonderful café and restaurant. They are open early, even on the weekends! And there was no line at 8:30am on a Sunday. The brunch, the lunch, and the dinner menus are all great. I had a salmon dish with the most delicate ravioli layered at the bottom. Steak and fries were good and definitely try the escargot for an appetizer! Eggs are fluffy served with a substantial and refreshing side salad and fries. Try their salads(like the chickpea salad) and sandwiches for lunch — you feel like you ate something healthy and delicious and you leave feeling full. I have to go back to try their pancakes that everyone is raving about.

My kid loves it here so do I. The panacakes are done well and so fluffy. The sausage are always nice and hot and the eggs i always get them fried. Only been there for brunch. The drinks are good and you leave out of there full. Its always crowded there for brunch. Its a small but the wait is never that long and there’s never really a rush to get you up once you are seated. The waffles are good too. Good place to go whether with your kid or on a date and prices are afforadble. Take cash because credit cards are not accepted

I’m not a big pancake person but their pancakes are seriously THEBEST. It’s sweet and crunchy on the outside with a pillowy soft texture on the inside. You really don’t even need any syrup or butter because they’re just as good naked. Their steak with pomme frites is also wonderful and this place is great for intimate dinners with a small group of friends or for date night. It looks and feels like a typical café in Paris minus the chain smoking Parisian patrons. Service is good and their prices are on par with the other establishments in the neighborhood. Definitely try and go for breakfast just to have their pancakes… You will not be disappointed.

fantastic food, long lines, cash only, slow and spotty service but its worth the wait as long as you’re not anal retentive and on a time crunch. lattes made with love and the fries are out of this world. not crazy about the egg mixture they use for omelets. seems like a mixture of real egg and carton eggs. I’d get scrambled eggs next time. pancakes are on point. we ordered a nicoise salad which never came, only got two glasses for a table of four. I didn’t complain, some things in life just aren’t worth complaining about. Come here for the food! its fantastic!

I came here for the pancakes! They were fluffy with crispy edges. Not quite what my southern grandma use to make but they were quite filling. It is a hearty pancake that sinks in your stomach. The space is small and cozy but warms your heart with its nostalgia. Have patience as it can get pretty busy if you don’t arrive before 12pm.

I’m newly fond of this place. Charming environment, reasonable prices, great special nights and happy hours. I’ve only had the spinach ravioli in browned butter sage sauce and the tortellini with the mushrooms but both were great and I’m looking forward to more trips. The only thing they could do better is offer more options for including vegetables in your meal without ordering expensive side dishes. What about a small extra charge for including broccoli, asparagus or haricots betts in a pasta dish? Cash only but there is an ATM directly across the street.

Friend of mind recommended this spot for their infamous pancakes. I’m pretty picky when it comes to pancakes, but I’m always down to try something new. I ordered the usual eggs and sausage with pancakes. They only have one type of pancake, which is your basic buttermilk pancake. When it was served to me, it definitely looked like your average breakfast food. But let me tell you, this has got to be the BEST tasting buttermilk pancake in town. The outer parts of it was crispy with a touch of softness in the middle. Basic never tasted soooooo good! Seriously melts in your mouth like butter! Def. a MUSTTRY. The eggs and sausage were good. Maybe it was too good because I was hungry AF! But my friend made a comment saying my eggs tasted better.(Btw, I’m a professional sunny side up egg maker. LOL). Place wasn’t packed, considering I went on a Monday. I heard this place gets packed on weekends. Employees are attentive. Also, CASHONLY.

Once again a case of my disappearing Unilocal reviews so rather than wasting time rewriting will cut to the chase. Best pancakes ANYWHERE. Skip everything else and get the pancakes. 5 stars for them 3 stars for everything else. If you come here and don’t get the pancakes you are an idiot.

My 2nd attempt to come here and I’ve decided it’s best you come here alone or when you’re not starving. If you come here by yourself you can try catching a seat at the bar and if you aren’t ASHUNGRY you won’t mind the 45 – 60 minutes wait either. I can’t even remember why I had Café Luluc bookmarked but I’m so glad I did. Nothing beats a place that has the following: 1. Fast service 2. Delicious food 3. AMAZING staff 4. Reasonable prices I didn’t even know what I wanted so I decided to read the reviews to see what’s their signature dish. People were raving about their pancakes and yes they have EVERYFREAKINGREASONTO! I really think these may be the best pancakes I’ve had at a brunch/café spot. THIS is how you make pancakes! Buttery, crispy on the edges, fluffy on the inside… just so perfect you don’t even care about any flaws. I didn’t even want pancakes coming here but I was like I must try them after reading the reviews. Even at the bar my experience was a pleasant one, I didn’t feel as though I was missing out on anything like how most bar experiences make you feel at a restaurant. The bellini was perfectly portioned as well(Nuff champagne). I’m coming back here again and yes… alone. I just want some more rounds… of those pancakes that is! I just REALLY feel that this place needs a waiting area. I hate how it looks when people are forced to wait outside of a restaurant especially for a long period of time.

I don’t travel to Brooklyn often, if at all. However, with the amount of reviews for Café Lulac’s pancakes, my friend and I finally made the trek to Brooklyn to experience these pillows of joy. We arrived at 1:20 pm on a Saturday and were quoted a 40 minute wait for a party of two. Luckily for us, the wait actually wasn’t too bad and turned out to be 20 minutes instead, so come with a small party and wait it out. Another option would be to come early or to come after 3 pm as the crowds died down and restaurant emptied out when we were leaving at 3 pm. My friend and I split the pancakes and the Nutella stuffed French toast. The 1,000+ reviews for the pancakes are so real. It’s even more real when the waiter comes to take orders for the table and automatically goes pancakes? before anyone even says anything. Then when the pancakes arrive, you’re in awe of the size and the height of the pancakes. You then take pictures to document this moment and dig right in. The pancakes are so soft that you don’t even need a knife to cut into the pancakes. They’re also so flavorful by itself that you don’t need syrup, but a little syrup goes a long way. My favorite part was the exterior of the pancake as the edges were crispy and tasted like cornbread cooked in a cast iron skillet, yum. The Nutella stuffed French toast on the other hand wasn’t anything spectacular for $ 13 — it literally was two slices of bread with Nutella spread in the center. I wish the Nutella was evenly disbursed to cover the corners of the bread as well because those bites were blandish. However, once you got to the center of the French toast, there were copious amounts of Nutella, making it sweet chocolate heaven. Whenever I’m craving pancakes, I’ll be back at Café Lulac.

Another usual brunch spot but I love how it is in Park Slope(one of my favorite neighborhoods) Friend of mine heard about the rave reviews so we thought we should check it out. She ordered the Philly Cheese steak Sandwich, I had the salmon eggs Benedict(my usual) and we had an order of the pancakes! Pancakes were great, sandwich was delicious and my Benedict was mediocre. Here is the BEST part– shortly after we left, my tummy started hurting… it was so bad I had to sit down for an hour or so at a café but thankfully a cup of mint tea saved the day! I probably would not be coming back to dine here sorry but I am not trying to walk out again with another tummy ache.

Famous for their amazing pancakes, I wasted no time in heading over to Luluc for a Saturday brunch. The restaurant is very interestingly decorated with a diner like feel. Lots of red all over. Not sure I loved that. The few times I have passed, I saw long lines outside but luckily they had an available table and we were seated right away. Water and menus were brought along with that. The waiters were quite friendly and definitely knew the menu and what to recommend for us. We ordered and did not wait too long for the food to come out. Aside for the pancakes the other dishes were quite underwhelming and really nothing to write home about. I think it’s more about the hype that people flock there. The pancakes definitely were super fluffy, soft and super tasty. I loved that the outside had the crisp edges. My biggest pet peeve struck when the bill came. THEY’RECASHONLY! Ugh, it is so bothersome to have a meal at a restaurant and then only once the bill comes realize it’s cash only. So that goes into my rating and they definitely lose a star for that. It dampens the mood. Overall it was a pretty mediocre brunch with not much to write home about.

I think this place is a solid four. It’s a little hole in the wall in Brooklyn, which I found purely through Unilocal upon arriving in Brooklyn. I really just wanted to enjoy some brunch and chose this place based on solid reviews. The place was quite crowded when I arrived at about 1pm. They quoted us a wait time of about an hour, but it was actually only about 25 minutes. The reviews for this place are pretty well written, so based on those, I had to order the pancakes with fruit and syrup. I also had the chance to try the poached egg with salmon. The pancakes are not oversold by these reviews. They were soooooooo good and definitely the most fluffy, yet perfectly crispy pancakes I have ever had. They tasted so good with the syrup and fruit. I split two plates with a friend, so I had the chance to try the poached egg with salmon. These were pretty good, and it was nice that one of the plates was salty and one was sweet, but the salmon in the dish was incredibly over salted. I wasn’t sure if that was how it was meant to be, but I kind of wished it was a little less saltier and a little more flavorful. Overall, great experience. I think this is a very cute local brunch place to visit when craving some pancakes and a variety of other brunch plates.

Not impressed with this place. Went here on a Friday for brunch. I was seated right away and looking at the menu made me salivate, I absolutely love brunch food! Food came rather quickly. I ordered the poached eggs with gravlax salmon on an english muffin with hollandaise sauce and did not enjoy it. The salmon was way too salty, it overpowered everything. Not to mention that I bit into the egg shell which was not peeled and removed, gross! The fries that came with it on the side were too crunchy for my liking and not even warm. Place is cash only as well, so make sure to go to the Chase across the street. There are a few other brunch places around this one which are better, I wouldn’t recommend going to this one.
