Not having been here before I decided to give it a try, as our current nearest supermarket(Met supermarket on smith) is closing down, and I have had this bee in my bonnet recently about affordable food shopping in the area. In fairness this is an ok alternative for everyday items. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing place to come to but it does the job. Yes, the meat might not be of the quality cuts you’ll see at Paisanos, the vegetables not of the supreme quality of K & Y and it’s lacking the artisanal cheese you’ll find in Stinky(and I admire and shop in all of these places also) but if you need the basics it’s perfectly adequate and clean and at a much lower price than some other«high end» stores in the area. Oh and please don’t put any credence on previous reviews, it’s really nowhere as Armageddon like as others have made out. The main drawback is that although nearby, this location is not somewhere I would feel really comfortable walking around alone after dark.

Foul. Vile. I just reported them to NY Dept of Agriculture & Markets(who apparently don’t care of a market sells stuff way past its expiration date). Last night I found THIRTY loaves of furry green bread, as well as a whole shelf of eggs two weeks past their sell-by date.

Lol oh gosh. I honestly can’t tell you how bad this place is… but I’ll try. So one day my mum and I decide to head on down to Ctown located on Bond Street. We usually shop at Met Foods since it’s closer, but we got«adventurous». Okay… so when I walk in, it is kind of small, but I think«Whatever, I’ll just get my stuff and go.» This place pretty much sucks. I looked around for fresh fruit and veggies… but there are none. Can you please tell me how a supermarket would leave out a decent produce section? I thought maybe I was looking in the wrong section, but I wasn’t. No vegetable. I needed some fresh green beans but couldn’t find that. No corn, no apples, no grapes. Nothing. What happened?! Anyway my mom and I were so frustrated that we decided to leave and go back to Met Foods. The aisle… oh my. The aisles are so small and cramped, people are forced to lean on each other. As I was walking, there was a guy(who worked there) on the floor and a bag of nuts spilled out next to him. Milk was everywhere and some was even leaking from the container. Wtf? Never going here again…
