Stopped by this cozy joint after taking a barre class in the LIC area. My friend insisted on taking the train(only a 15 min ride) to Brooklyn to check out this spot because we were both craving post workout juices. She had heard about this place before and had bought turmerics(for healing & immunity boosts) from their apothecary online so she wanted to check out their physical location. I’ve always been a bit skeptical with juices and how much I’m willing to pay for them but I went with their Get High juice which has coconut water & matcha as well as a few other healthy things. A 16 oz is $ 9 which is a hefty price tag but you’re getting what you’re paying for and that is a chockfull of vitamins and all the good tasty but healthy things in life. My friend got the Cold Cocktail which had a blend of like 10 vitamins and veggies(def more worth) w the flavor focusing on ginger and garlic so if you’re a fan of either, definitely give that one a try. I personally liked hers more than mine. Nothing like a ginger juice to really defunk and warm up in the winter. But the real reason I’m here to review(which I rarely do) for this place is their Macro Bowl(solid $ 11). I’m not the type of gal who orders salads at a restaurant/café. I enjoy getting in my greens but I’m a bigger carnivore for sure. So when I browsed their menu I was disappointed at the lack of protein in the form of chicken or any meat(my ignorance at forgetting this is a vegan + organic café/juicery). But man, this macro bowl blew me away. You’re getting protein through the kitchari(hummus type mashed potato looking thing) and the pumpkin seed. You’re probably thinking that sounds kinda gross. Just greens w hummus and pumpkin seeds w some nori seaweed? It surprised me how well everything tasted combined together. The cashew cream they used as the salad dressing tastes yogurty and slightly tangy BUTHEALTHY. I scraped the bowl clean thinking wow, I’m actually full and satisfied. If you’re in the greenpoint area and you need a green fix(whether in liquid or salad form), definitely give this spot a go. They sell turmerics and other healthy liquid boosters for those interested in supplements ranging in sleep aid to flu/cold prevention/healing. Would definitely go back for the macro bowl and maybe a smoothie next time!

Had one of the tacos… think it was the Green Taco but I am bad at remembering. The taco itself was as tasty as it was light, leaving me fulfilled but not heavy or bloated. So thankful for that as I almost went to another veggie spot that would have done the latter. The service was also very good, a component that would make me return here in a minute. I definitely want to try one of the juices as they have some of the mixes on display with the descriptions on how they aid you in an easy to understand manner. That’s good business.

Such a cool place! It’s expensive, but worth it. I got the Love Handles tonic. It was strong, but tasted great and made me feel great. My friend also loved her smoothie, iced coffee, and banana chocolate muffin slice(why do they only sell them in tiny pieces? Weird). The art work is so lovely in the back. They also have great deals on classes, though I didn’t take one.

The quality of the product and kindness of the service allowed this skeptic to put his criticisms aside and enjoy the offerings here. Vitamin C juice w pomegranate and lots of turmeric plus a shot of the ‘brain’ elixir. Dunno if I felt a brain boost but the recipe and quality was spectacular. Also, the lack of oils/fats in the ‘roll’ I had really allowed me to enjoy the flavors of the individual ingredients, tied together by the dreamy texture of avocado. Will be coming here again to expand my knowledge of their offerings.

3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars for food quality and chill atmosphere. Came here with an Amazon Local deal. When I arrived, I remembered being there before back when it was the Awakening Café. Awakening Spa, their neighbor in the space, moved the letters on the storefront to their side of the space. They still share an interior, and being that the café, now called Botica & Co, shares a space with Awakening wellness center, it sets a tranquil mood upon entry. The décor is simple and natural with some seats in the front and more the back. The dishes my date and I ordered were very similar. They both come with kale, pomegranate seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashew cream and a tangy dressing. _KALE TAHINISALAD($ 9.50) had raw sliced onions, _MACRO BOWL($ 10.50) comes with Kitchari(red lentils, basmati, turmeric, wild rice, fresh herbs) and dried seaweed. I suggest getting the heartier Macro Bowl over the salad. For the serving size, both could come down in price by a couple of dollars, and use a bit less dressing. Tasty, but a bit small and tangy. Also had a _FUERZA SMOOTHIE($ 10): raw cashew milk, Qi superfoods, cacao, coconut meat, banana. This could also come down in price. Refreshing but again a bit small. All refreshing for a summer day so I might return then.(It’s close to McCarren Park.)

This is by far my favorite place to get a green juice! I like adding ginger to it — you can tell all the ingredients are very fresh and high quality. I love that their juices are on tap. Very unique! The décor is so cute and charming as well. It’s a cozy place to hang out and relax. They also sell amazing tea and other things to take home. I even did a little Christmas shopping here. Everyone who works at Botica is extremely nice and helpful! Their food is delicious and super healthy as well. I recommend the sandwich with kale, and the macro bowl. So good! I’m definitely a regular!

The art of herbal distillation is alive and well here at Botica & Co. where Elixirs, Flower Essences and Extracts from Rainforest Herbs are 100% organic and vegan. Herbal tonics and cold pressed, raw organic juice on tap. Formulas include Lucid Dreaming for insomnia, Curam for detox healing, Eros aphrodisiac, Cerebrum brain tonic, Love Handles fat blaster, Soma immune protection and Palo Santo Myst an anti-bacterial and anti-microbial that also relinquishes Bad Vibes. I love that NYC finally has a true Herbal Apothecary. Kudos to the priestess of health who knows that food is medicine.
