Bench Sports Bar

My friend threw his bday bash here and with the 40 dollars unlimited all you can drink beer, hennessy and certain brands how can you go wrong? I took away a star because it’s pretty small and the kitchen had the entire bar smelling like grease. I had a great time and the music was pretty good. They had a dj around 10pm. By midnight the entire bar was pretty packed and with one bartender, you were def waiting a while for a drink. But the drinks were great and strong. I will def be swinging by again.

Great place to watch a game. They have lots of TVs, only great views, and, like any real sports bar should do, they play the sound from the games as well. It reopened a couple of months ago after it was shutdown for a while and the neighborhood is definitely better off for it.
I might have given five stars, but I just can’t. Last time I was there I ordered nachos and I got chips covered in marinara sauce. WTF?

Great sports bar in Bay Ridge. What else do you need? Lots of TVs, you’re never craning your neck to get a better look at the game. Great vibe, friendly bartenders, awesome place to watch the game with friends. I didn’t get any food but everyone around me seemed to enjoy the mac n cheese, the wings, and the ribs. Playoff season is upon us, I’ll probably be back here tomorrow!

You want to watch sports? This is your place. They had both the Mets and the Rangers game on all of the tvs with sound.
Waitress was friendly, although she told us she quit and came back, which was weird.
Menus were paper (like xeroxed), so Thursday special roast beef with mozzarella sandwich $ 9. Sweet, I’ll get that. Nope. No specials, the menu is in transition.. Okay I’ll have the roasted veggie wrap, nope. Cant have that either. Waitress recommended the chicken pita sandwich, which was grilled chicken and fresh avocado and delicious.
Apparently the freezer broke, so there was a delay on my food and beer. They did the right thing and bought us a round which we appreciated.
Happy accident we walked in here.

Came in a slow Monday night, bartender was super nice. Some salads on the menu were not available but we had the wings and sweet potatoe fries and they were great. They have Angry Orchard on tap which is another plus. Will be back!

We were visiting from AZ and had the pleasure of stumbling upon this place. We wanted to watch the u of a game and the bartender was nice enough to put it on for us, even with the sound (we were also the only customers) we got there right when they opened the doors. The food was surprisingly good. We had the Mac and cheese and wings. The bartender was really friendly, really nice, and really helpful for us.

I want to start by saying I’m a regular around the Bay Ridge bars. Bench is fairly new so my friends and I decided to try it the other night. My experience was beyond unpleasant. I cannot seem to understand how the bartender with curly hair and glasses has a job. If I were to call her unnecessarily rude, snotty, unpleasant and unprofessional that would just be an understatement. I’m not sure how she landed her bartending position at Bench but I feel sorry for the management that has to continue to pay her while she single handedly loses them plenty of business. Will not go into detail but my friends and I will never return solely because of her.
Avoid Saturday night that is when she is there.

Great Place! When walking in to this sports bar, it feels like you are inside a VIP Room in a baseball field. They have great looking girls working at the bar, the pricing on drinks is definitely cheap, which allows you to have much more than one or two. The food here is amazing. When you go to a sports bar you think of the basic chicken wings and burgers, but Bench has so many choices on their menu, every time I come in they add more and more choices. I probably tried almost everything on the menu and can tell you that it feels like I went to a restaurant in manhattan. So many tvs and great surround sound system, it is a great place to come watch any sports game or fight.

I’ll start off by saying that I’m not a sports or a sports bar fan, but this place was fun regardless. The bartender Christ was super friendly, had great recommendations on drinks/​food. I don’t even remember what we ate or drank (it was that kind of night) but I remember having a great time. Would definitely come back.

Friendly bar guy with quick and good service. Sliders were awesome. Plenty of screens. No complaints about letting me see the red sox.

it was ok. The place was pretty empty but they did a nice job with modernizing the place, and putting TVs everywhere. I got a vodka cran and it was mixed well, I have to say. But the stools were uncomfortable, so I’d have to pass the next time.

Let me preface this review by saying, I am rating this as a person who ate here with her husband and 2 little ones. we didn’t come to watch the game or drink at the bar… ok, with that said, if you’re still reading then you’re probably not going to like this place much more than we did.
I know lots of pubs are actually quite kid friendly during early evening hours so when I saw a Goupon for Bench and we were in the area for a drs appt, I looked up their menu and saw a kid’s section figuring this would be an ok place to try. I really wanted to like the place… it was 5pm and we were the only diners sans 2 guys sitting at the bar… they didn’t have a high chair, but the super friendly bartender/​waitress/​hostess told us she would call another restaurant and have one brought over. SUPER! It was unnecessary, but definitely appreciated… we sat, placed our order and waited. we ordered mac and cheese for one of our sons and a cook came out and told us that they haven’t received an order for mac and cheese in so long, he couldn’t make it… not sure if he didn’t have the ingredients or didn’t know how or what… but he offered the mac and cheese balls and that sounded fine… a bit later the mac and cheese balls came out and 1 son ate, a while later my other son’s dish came out and he ate. we waited… a while later my dish came out and I ate… my husband never got his meal and by the time the rest of us were done eating, the kids were getting restless and he still didn’t have his meal (a grilled cheese with bacon). The reason for 2 stars… the food was decent… my short rib sliders were down right tasty… if you’re coming to sit at the bar and distracted enough to not realize how long your food was taking, this would be a good fit for you… but there really isn’t any excuse for sending out food one by one like that and then forgetting an entrée all together… we ended up taking it to go and my husband ended up with a soggy meal.

I’m really confused by the good reviews here. Very misleading! I came here to watch a game and left to go somewhere else…
The website promotes a great place to watch the game and eat unique food. We ordered nachos to start. Out came a plate of chips from the dollar store with cold cheese slopped on top. We wanted meals so I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich and my boyfriend ordered Chicken Fingers and fries. The waitress told us that the kitchen couldn’t make either items and that they were waiting on their food order. What?
The only reason why we decided to come here was because of the awesome reviews and photos. I would never recommend this place or return.

Nice selection of beers and killer fried pickles! My friend had the wings (medium) and he said they came out perfect. Audio for the game. Too many TVs to count. Friendly staff with just the right amount of Brooklyn accent (sass/​attitude included). Great experience, even for A Philadelphia sports fan.

This place is a very good sports bar. Oh man, love it! The food is good and with 14 screens for your sports needs, you can’t go wrong!

I Love this place! More specifically, I LOVE the food! OMG, this is a sports bar?
The pastrami is some of the best that I’ve had and the thick — slab bacon, WOW! Don’t forget the Sweat Potato Croquettes and the Short Rib is awesome! The atmosphere and the drinks complete the package. Great job guys! I’ll be back soon.

a SOLID new addition to bars in Bay Ridge. As an avid Kettle bar visitor, it hurts me to say that it really is not a sports bar. Bench ALWAYS plays sound for games and has a gazllion sharp picture tv’s to watch. Food wise, I was pleasantly surprised.

Onion Rings (I get it with ranch)
Sweet potato croquettes *how have I never had these before?
Mac & Cheese balls — AMAZEBALLS
Sirloin sliders
Wings were good but I just liked everything else so much better. Definitely a great new spot with quality food and a super nice staff. Gotta love when the owners walk around making sure everything is going good!

I been to Bench several times already, the food and atmosphere is outstanding. Love the wings and fried pickles. Definitely a great place to relax and watch a game, I am going to be a regular here during football season! I also couldn’t ask for better service.

5-​stars for staff! Owner, manager, bartender, bouncer & waitress all ROCK-​so nice, so friendly, so accommodating. Went on a Sunday afternoon (the day after Kentucky Derby, because I tried a tasty but deadly Kentucky Punch) and the front windows were open; space small but comfortable, plenty of seating (bar stools and tables, as well as booths in the back). Awesome high-​tech jukebox. Delicious fried pickles and sweet potato fries with MARSHMALLOW DIPPING SAUCE!!! They have a dozen different exciting dips and sauces. Perfect place to watch a game.

Great atmosphere, great staff, and the owners greeted me at the door to welcome me to this new spot. I’m loving it. Come over, have a drink and watch «the game»
