Turned away my at least $ 200 catering order because I was unable to come into the store to order it. Refused to take be flexible to take the order over the phone or online, once I told them I lived in NJ and wanted the order for an event being held on Saturday in Brooklyn, just 4 mins from the restaurant. I offered to come into the store on Friday evening to place my order for a luncheon on Saturday, as this would be my 1st opportunity to be in Brooklyn. I was told that they would not be able to make my order in time for my event. I’ve never tasted the food but based on the service I don’t think it would be worth it. Please do not go to them for catering.

Service sucks! in order for you to place an order for pick up your number has to already be in there system stored with your name if not you have to go there an place an order for takeout and then wait. They are also very rude.!The manager should hire friendlier people with hospitality because clearly this is what your business lacks.

Bedstuy fish fry is good but they need a little work on their desserts and their fries lobster. They also have a bar but no liquor. I loved the prices and the flavor of the food. The fried lobster was good, but somewhat over fried. And the red velvet cake tasted like food coloring. The strawberry lemonade Is great. I’d give them another try.

Smh!!! Nasty. I went in here for the first time today because I was starving and it was recommended by the nail tech who did my nails a few blocks down… I ordered to takeout. First of all service is unprofessional. I ordered fried chicken, collard greens, and yams. I got four of the smallest wings I’ve ever received in my life with the smallest of the four wings tucked under the rest at the bottom of the tray, two tablespoons full of yams, and some terrible extra spicy collard greens that burned my mouth for $ 11.00 + tax. I ordered to go home and eat and when I got home was disappointed with the amount and quality but ate it because I was starving and had to rush to go pick up my son. No bueno. Went straight to the bathroom an hour later. The food was nasty, overpriced, and the smallest plate of soul food I’ve ever received. oh and forgot to mention it was cold but Its also cold outside so that may have been my fault. Will never be back.

I must admit, this is one of my favorite places to go in the neighborhood for soul food and fried fish. Their prices are great, they have large TVs and a great amount of space. The ambiance is very casual and well kept, as I said earlier the food is delicious and for the most part fresh. My only minor complaint is the food takes a long time to get to you, and the serving Staff is very inexperienced. Depending on who you get. But either way slow through a few drinks. I think they have new management, and new employees so things are turning around. This is just my experience with this restaurant. It doesn’t stop me from going because I love it so much.

If you’re in the mood to completely WASTE your time, be talked down to and receive shabby customer service this is your place! I placed an online order at 6:00pm and paid via the website by inputting my card info(or so I thought). I arrive to the location at 6:30pm after having taken the train there straight from work. I’m told that my credit card payment on their mobile site did not go through and they only take the card number on the site to start your order(red flag #1). I gave them my card to pay for my order in person. Over the next 20 minutes I wait in the small, dark & cold vestibule. The first time I asked for the status of my order I was told(without the host even checking) that it wasn’t ready yet. The second time, she radioed back to ask for it and received no response from kitchen staff(red flag #2). At this point it’s been over an hour since I placed the order and over 30 minutes since I’ve been standing in the restaurant waiting. I asked to speak with a manager who I realized was totally ill equipped for the job as she was a shabby waitress to me when I dined in prior(totally lackadaisical, unprofessional body language, etc.). The manager goes to the back where the kitchen is to check on my order(finally someone is physically checking!). She comes back and says to me, and I quote, «we ran out of jerk chicken and have to go get some… it’ll be about a 15 minute wait»(red flag #3, 4, 5…). Instead of screaming and acting in way that my mother did not raise me I told them I’d be taking my money back. If restaurant staff is so incompetent as to not inform me at 6pm when I placed my order that they did not have what I wanted rather than have me waiting an hour & a half until 7:30pm for it they do not deserve my business. I demanded a refund and got it. Save your time, your coin and your sanity. I am the BIGGEST supporter of local & black-run business, but this place here is mess. MESS. I hope they close soon.

I went to the location on Halsey Street and their service sucks, the smaller take out one on Schermerhorn Street and they were okay, however this one on Fulton Street your service is ATROCIOUS! The restaurant is empty except for 3 seated at a table and the take out area is packed, they have one computer that isnt working and the other computer the worker just walks away as people enter to order!!! Behind the bar there are 4 workers staring at the the tv watching vh1 soul!!! You guys are ridiculous and I stopped in here because the one up the block from my house on Schermerhorn was closed. I never have seen such poor service. I walked out after 5 minutes of not being acknowledged and the couple in front of me as well. SMH, never again!!!

SERVICESUCKS! It’s a real disappointment cause the food is a true gem! However the service is unbearable… probably has something to with the fact that they’re severely understaffed. They have so much traffic not enough hostesses, waiters, or chefs and management is nonexistent. Regardless I find myself ordering pick up and every time I’m waiting over 45 minutes in a crowded poorly lit freezing cold restaurant waiting around staff who hate their job and aren’t afraid to make you feel like a bother. If you could deal with the horrible service, unbelievable wait, and nasty attitudes I would recommend the stuffed lobster tails, shrimp Alfredo, crab cakes, yams and the Mac and cheese(only sometimes) for PICKUPONLY. They have a really great lunch special but only cause no one would probably sit in with this staff if it wasn’t half price. Let me reiterate where is the management, customer service, and professionalism when you need it!

DONOTORDERDELIVERY… and if you’re going to sit down– allot yourself copious time:-(the food is good but it takes forever! We ordered almost 2 hours ago and the food still hasn’t gotten here. The delivery guy won’t even answer the restaurants calls! We had to cancel our order and actually go out to eat. I’ve also sat there and ordered as an in-house guest and still waited forever. So whatever you do… give abundant lead time or just go out to eat somewhere. We could’ve eaten and come back home by now.

I was very disappointed in BSFF. I had heard a lot about the good food before I finally went, and I HATE when people hype a place & it’s horrid. Well, the service was horrid. We waited 10 minutes before our orders were taken, and then an additional almost 40 minutes before the food came out. There was only one person taking orders in the front, and it took forever to get her attention. When we finally received our orders, there were no forks and napkins in the bag, my friend was missing the soda she ordered, and I was given the wrong side order. I was so hungry by then that I didn’t even bother to rectify the situation. I’m not sure that I would be in a rush to return here. Not to mention, it’s cash only!!!

DOBETTER… Do Better. I’ve been to the downtown Bk location, RUDE! The girls always act like they don’t need your business, but the food is so good I let it slide. Now this location the attitudes were better BUT can y’all staff a little better. I read the reviews on delivery so I decided to walk over and get take out since I live a block or two away, I called first to place my order but no answer. I walk over wait in line & get ready to order. One girl is walking around checking on the one table that’s seated and maybe packing food for delivery. The phone is ringing non stop & the girl at the register is clearly frazzled(Not her fault she answered about 20 calls & took orders of the walk in customers while Ms. walks around, walked around & occasionally yelled at her to answer the phone). It’s my turn to order, Half the things I want they are out of(it’s cool, its delicious why wouldn’t it be sold out) But after she takes my order she tells me & hr and a half wait… Insert head tilt… ok I’ll go to the ATM since I’ve got time for a walk. Nope we cant put in your order until you pay. Moral of the story is I had pizza. I’ll definitely give them another try because most of the fault lay with me BUT Do Better Bedstuy fish fry. DO. BETTER.

If you are willing to wait at least 1hr for a simple dinner take out order during hours when the restaurant is virtually empty, then yes, this is the place for you. I went there and ordered two dinners. There were about three people dining in at the time so there was no reason I should have waited 1 ½ hrs for my food. I ended up walking out with a refund. I saw people come and go over and over yet I kept being told I needed to wait a few more minutes. At first I couldn’t understand what the problem was, then i realized how they prioritized orders. They take care of catered orders and deliveries first then deal with in-store patrons. After 45mins of waiting, I noticed that they implemented a new delivery system using Grub Hub. I don’t think they have a handle on prioritizing in store orders versus online orders. Lastly, they only take cash which in this day is nothing other than an inconvenience to customers and a work around government taxes for the owners.

This is my second time ordering from here. The food was good the first time I ordered from here a few months ago, but today it wasn’t so great. My delivery came late, and it came out of the bag. Like they were speeding, or throwing the bag around the car because my honey mustard chicken wasn’t honey mustard anymore, it was just fried chicken. I had to call the restaurant and asked them what happen to my order-she looked it up and said it was already delivered when it was not, in fact it was on its way to my house. The food did not come hot. It came cold/lukewarm.

Ordered delivery via grub hub was waiting 30 mins for my good then called grub hub and turns out the feel they are too busy to deliver. Why go through not one but two delivery companies if you can’t fulfill the request of a customers going through a company you opted to work with. This place was so good, but the delivery took way too long :( Chicken and waffles were amazing, but they only had wings. I loved the waffle. It was very dense, unlike the light waffles you’ll find in Denny’s or something. RASTAPASTAWASAMAZING! Definitely get the rasta pasta! And they know their mac and cheese. This is the spot. Worst experience ever… not returning! It is currently 11:15pm and I ordered my food at 7.4pm, however the delivery man JUST arrived. Now this business MIGHT have received a 2−3star rating if the food was good but the fish and chips were soggy and disgusting. After calling SEVERAL times questioning the manager, I was ensured my food would be hot and its«on its way». Although the manager was very apologetic she explained there was only one delivery driver which caused my 3 hour delay. The food was bad and the service wasn’t great at all. Maybe pickup is better.

My friend I came to this location on a Friday night to have dinner. We were seated promptly by our waitress. Our waitress was very friendly and personable, the food so it took about ten or 15 minutes for our food to be prepared. While we were waiting for our dishes, I picked up my silverware and noticed that it was spotty and/or dirty, so was my friend’s so we had the waitress bring up two new sets. Our food finally arrived to the table and it was delicious. It came time to pay and my friend and I usually go Dutch when we go out to eat. I asked the cashier if she could split the the bill, she had an attitude and told me that they don’t do that. So I stood there and figured out what each of us owed on my phone. At this point there was another cashier at the counter, I asked her for change and she also had an attitude, but she gave my friend and I change. The food was great, but when the employees that are responsible for making the last impression on your customer(s) have sour attitudes that’s what they’ll remember. I think some of them in that place need some cystine service training, because that isn’t the first time Very experienced an employee with an attitude problem.
