AT&T

I was an ATT customer since 2003. This store’s wildly deceitful staff led me to switch carriers. They lied about my monthly plan price by more than $ 20. They added an insurance plan without asking me. They lied to me about being able to use data while in Canada. They lied to me about the length of my installment plan. They totally ignored my calls and emails trying to speak with a manager to clear things up. After all this, I returned my phone and cancelled within the 14 day window – only to find out today that they didn’t tell att corporate that I returned the phone. So I’m getting billed $ 650 for it. Fun! Kept my receipt and am going back to dispute; next step, Bettrr Business Bureau. Seriously, just the worst customer service experience of my entire life… Evil? Can I use that word when we’re not talking about like, murder? Because that’s what springs to mind…

Worst customer service in the world. Came in to buy a iphone 6 and they were out of stock and said no other stores had it. They failed to mentioned that Target, Best Buy, and Apple all had it in stock and told me to buy the 6 plus and then exchange it the next week. The 6 plus that I bought was defective and a week later was cracking at the edges. I came in to exchange for regular 6 and they wouldn’t take it back. Even after corporate said they had to take it back they didn’t. The manager Daniel was a complete shady a**hole who said corporate told him not to take it back even though they said they had to.
Literally only interested in commission and not customer service DO NOT VISIT! if you have to go to a store come to the one on Fulton Mall. They are SOOOO helpful and understanding.

I went there to get a new phone and worked with Jenny Lee. She was extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the store!

This place is AWFUL. Completely lied to — was about to walk out of the store with my new iphone 6 (which I bought with the NEXT upgrade plan only so that I could upgrade without binding myself to another dreaded two years with this AT & T service) and as I was about to leave the store, was told I got a FREE tablet. I asked why and she said because LG was struggling and needed exposure and she did not mention ONCE that I would be charged an activation fee and a new charge every month. I have ZERO desire for a tablet but she insisted it was free and I could use it while at home on wifi and I figured I should take the only free thing this dreadful company has ever offered me. It has been a month since and when I finally saw the charge on my bill, I immediately called in and was told to simply return the unopened tablet that I had no clue I was paying for. The store would not allow me to return as it had been over the 14 days and they now want to charge me to break a contract that I never even signed for. Apparently signing a receipt here is a binding two year commitment. The manager would not take it back, would not help and instructed I called corporate. I called corporate and after 90 minutes on the phone, the manager on the phone told me I actually needed to deal with the store. The store manager then told me, after he saw me in there for 90 minutes on the phone, that yes it was him who needed to deal with this. He said «it is now 8:30 and I am closing and cannot call the area manager at this time.» So now I need to go back in today and make sure the area manager was called to see if anything is going to be done. Every rep in there is rude, the manager, Nolon is terrible and my rep, Kendra, should not be allowed to sell anything.

The managers here and inept and frustrating! Unfortunately this is my neighborhood store.
First visit: Waited over 1 hour with 2 small kids after manager Alfonsia said they have my phone in stock and the wait is only 35 min. Once the sales rep started helping us he told us in two minutes they don’t have ANY iPhone 6s in stock. I talked to Alfonsia who got a big attitude and claimed to only say that she *might* have it in stock and that all products are subject to availability! Of course they are, but you could have told me one hour earlier!
Second visit: sales person Geri was awesome but his manager wouldn’t let him sell me the phone until he reassessed my service plan. I told him three times I just reassessed my plan with ATT customer service. Twice he went into the back to get my phone and came back empty handed to talk to me again about my plan. The third time his manager came back with him and told me he wants me to be «fully informed» before proceeding. I had to listen to the manager’s spiel before buying the phone.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this store. Better yet, go to the Apple Store where everything is more efficient!

AT&T would not drop an early termination fee on my deceased father’s cell-​phone account. I like to think that Alexander Graham Bell would be appalled.
My terrible experience has nothing to do with the store at 160 Montague Street. I didn’t find a page on Unilocal to review AT&T Wireless Corporate.
I’ve switched to Consumer Cellular which receives signals from multiple nationwide service providers including AT&T. The monthly bill is considerably lower and their customer service policies are advantageous for subscribers. For example, Consumer Cellular will allow you to change your plan every month up until the day the billing cycle ends.

Funny how the company «policy» of opening the door for customers is only in effect if said customer is not anywhere near the brown persuasion.
Will not ever frequent this location again since the other policy is to go out of their way to not help.

I went in here with a friend of mine last week because he was having trouble with his iPhone. A guy named Geri helped us, did a factory reset on his phone, which didn’t fix the problem – which was fine, it was an old phone – and then got him set up with a new phone all in less than 20 minutes. We had been dreading the whole process. Now if only AT&T would buy TWC and put Geri in charge, life in New York would be so much easier.

i went just before the store was closing. And they didnt give me any attitude. Rather they were extremely friendly and quick in activating my phone and giving me a new sim. No hassle AT ALL. Great service!

I’ve been to this store a whole lot recently for various issues with my family’s phones, and I’ve been really impressed. The staff, especially jennie-​lee, kendra, and jose, have been unfailingly knowledgeable, competent, and nice. I think they do a really good job.

These guys have apparently made huge improvements in the last few months because i had zero problems with getting a new SIM card at Montague AT&T. Me: Out of contract, grumpy, phone was stolen, had a loaner phone. Prepared for long wait (lunch time), plus expecting shop folks to give me problems and/​or try to sell me into another two year contract.
What happened: i walked in the store and was immediately added to a walk-​in waitlist by greeter at the door. 2. The list is updated on a large flatscreen so you can see how long you have to wait. 3. I waited approximately 10 minutes for it to me my turn. 4. The folks there were friendly, sympathetic and gave me a new card with no hassle.
I wouldn’t exactly call it a 4-​star experience (i mean, going to the store after your phone was stolen has a high baseline level of suck, after all) — but these guys did not make it worse. Also, there are *two* charging stations for out-​of-​juice mobile devices, if you happen to run out of battery on montague. 3.5 stars.

Unless your a blonde with boobs and in distress, you will be ignored. GO TO RADIO SHACK, they were willing to go out and get it from another store that same day!!!

Went in to just inquire about a wireless hotspot for two-​day trip I was taking. Salesperson (Miguel Cotto) convinces me that I could get a device for $ 150 and a plan that I could turn on and off since I really didn’t need regularly. After a month I tried to turn the plan off only to find you were still charged $ 50 a month regardless and that I could not return the device because it was past 30 days. AT&T itself told me that the salesperson was wrong because all I had to do was pay an extra $ 25 a month to turn my iPhone into a wireless hotspot, so I never needed the device. They told me to complain to the store where I mr Cotto admitted that I had «been screwed» and would use his «personal credit» to fix the problem — but would have to get back to me.
Not only have I never heard back from Mr. Cotto but he will no longer take my calls and shields himself with other customers when I go in. AT&T itself has had no interest in helping me remedy.

I definitely agree with Shelley! I came to this location to exchange my phone. Waited on line for 20 minutes. The 2 reps behind the counter saw me standing there. When Abagail finally finished with the guy she was assisting, i walked up to her. She asks me if my name was on the list. What list? She tells me there is a queued list of walk in customers. Wtf!!! Why didnt someone tell me this during the 20 minutes I was standing there??? So she puts my name in «the list». After I waited 15 more minutes, a guy came to me just to tell me I needed to bring everything in to exchange the phone. Wasted 35 minutes and accomplished nothing.

Worst customer service anywhere, ever.
Ordered a phone from them which did not arrive. Fedex directed me to AT&T, AT&T directed me to Fedex. Etc.
Hidden fees attached to everything. I suggested that I pay full price for a brand new phone and then return it once the refurbished phone I ordered (with the upgrade discount) arrived — they told me there would be a $ 35 restocking fee, which they would not waive. I asked if they would sell me a refurbished phone OR a new phone and apply the upgrade discount to it – nada. I asked if they could give Fedex permission to deliver to a different address, as Fedex suggested — nope. Their one solution was a hard sell on a prepaid phone, which I refused to purchase after repeated pushiness.
Completely unhelpful and condescending conversation.
Employees are trained to ask customers weird personal questions — i.e.:
Me: I am traveling this weekend and need to leave here with a phone today.
Them: Oh, wow, where are you going?
I heard another customer in the store say she needed small bills for the bus. «Oh, the bus! Where are you taking the bus to?»
Unhappy manager, employees, and customers. Ridiculous giant corporation which has us all by the balls. Walked out without a phone.
