Anna’s Best Gourmet Deli

Anna’s best deli, is located on the corner of my block. I walk by here everyday several times. But I refuse to give this arrogant and unfriendly business owner any of my cash.
I’ve never walked back in after realizing the owner is not very helpful or accommodating, he’s even been rude at times. So I make the walk down one more block to the other deli/​bodega on the corner of Dekalb.
Here’s a list of things I encountered.
Lack of customer service skills, if a customer isn’t happy make an effort to adjust or correct the situation.
Very limited selection, I’m not sure what they really mean by «gourmet» but everything is canned and boxed food. They have a hot food buffet but this is also very limited. And in my opinion not very good.
Lack of consistency, if your sign says you close at 7pm… please do so.
650pm is not 7pm. I couldn’t believe when I walked up to the front door and this jerk gives me a good old flick of the wrist to go away and locks the door in my face. This incident was what made me flip my lid.
I’m done here. But hey who knows try it for yourself you may have a different experience, perhaps he just didn’t like the way I look.

Great coffee spot… great sandwiches. .All boarshead cold cuts… The owner is friendly and easy to talk to .my favorite dish there is the western omelet. .amazing taste…

certainly not anna’s «best». limited junky canned goods. extensive ramen selection, if you want that. I went in the evening and asked for an egg sandwich– no grill after 1pm. :(
they feature a salad/​hot food bar which i haven’t tried, but most likely is popular for the wyckoff heights hospital crew.

Mr. and Mrs. Anna and the entire Anna family (as my husband and I lovingly refer to them) operate such a clean, spacious, and well-​lit outfit that it is completely undeserving of the title bodega. Anna’s Best makes delicious sandwiches with Boar’s Head cold cuts, homemade tuna, chicken and egg salads, and fresh vegetable accoutrements (lettuce and tomato). They offer an excellent salad bar/​hot buffet, comprised of food made on the premises daily by Mr. and Mrs. Anna themselves, and fresh bagels, muffins, rolls, and breads. Their bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches are to die for! They carry all kinds of groceries and conveniences, and while the beer selection is extremely limited, it’s not that pricy. Go in a few times, and Mr. and Mrs. Anna will grow to recognize you as well as your typical order… more than 10 times and you’ll be BFF.
