I went in for a card, went to the cashier and she was very rude. Refused to say Hello or anything for that matter. Can’t stand people who take out their frustrations on customers.

American Greeting Card Shop is my usual go to spot when I am seeking cards for special people or occasions. These days those forays are numbered with the grand parents being gone and my only really focusing on the immediate family outside of Christmas cards but I digress. This store is spacious and has a lot of everything. I cannot remember a time that I walked in there needing something and not finding it when I looked around. Kudos to that for sure. The staff is friendly and helpful and I always enjoy the brief chit chat that I make with them at the counter when completing the purchase. As a photographer and blogger, I love visiting this store during various seasons for some visual inspiration. They have a myriad of great sidelines for sale and I am meaning stuffed characters and themed decorations. I don’t buy them all of course but do make sure to photograph them for blogs that aim at these occasions. Price wise, well, paper is costly and depending on what your card is like in terms of size or enhancements then it can be expensive. Especially if you need a handful of cards but honestly don’t let that sway you because its the thought and the words that matter the most with cards. I am happy to report that I have read every single inside phrase on any card that I have sent out to make sure it impacts the most. That is worth an extra buck or three at the end of the day. Good place, check it out if you are in Bay Ridge.

This is my backup card store when Hallmark or Rite Aid does not have what i’m looking for. It’s a big location that also has lots of trinkets, bears, calendars and other gift options for you, especially if you are looking for something quick and inexpensive. Workers are attentive and will quickly help you with anything you need. Tough to find parking in this part of Bay Ridge
