I boarded the amberjack V for 4th of july. I was disappointed with some of the service during the ride. Granted there were more good things about the boat than not however the one thing was important. Our boat ride tickets included open bar but also dinner. When boarding all passengers received tickets for dinner collection. When dinner finally got started a line formed quickly and my husband and I along with a few other passengers decided to wait till the line got shorter to redeem our tickets. Little did we know that the tickets didn’t mean much. When we finally did decided to redeem them most of the food was gone. The kitchen staff had nothing but smash potatoes and pasta left. According to the staff people had already served themselves more than once. It was really disappointing for us because we were actually hungry and had saved our appetites for the meal we thought we were going to get. I tried to talk to someone about the issue and they stated food was only being served for a period of time however that time was never stated on the receipt and an itinerary was not given. On a good note, the boat ride is a nice event. The views of the city are beautiful during the sunset, another reason we waited to eat. The passengers on the boat were very nice and it wasn’t too crowded. Everyone we met during the event was in good spirits and were enjoying themselves. The fireworks were a little farther away than we expected, but we are guessing that was for safety reasons. All in all its a nice tour however not worth the money. For the amount we paid we could have had a very nice dinner in the city and seen the same fireworks somewhere else. I guess its a boat ride that maybe more worth it for tourist who are interested in the view more than anything else.

Its a little intimidating to just board a boat even if it is a restaurant, but once you do, Amberjack V is a really great experience. The staff is friendly and courteous, the food is good and the views are amazing. It is a perfect date spot. When leaving, we were told they have live music on Thursday nights — mix of English and Russian. Sounds like a party. I’ll definitely be back.

Amberjack V is now a Restaurant. Its dockside, so no fear of getting sea sick. Delicious fresh food, great service, very family friendly and the views to die for.

I went on their 4th of July cruise last week, and have to say I’m fairly satisfied. My boyfriend and I were searching for reasonably priced cruises but didn’t want to be around a bunch of obnoxious and drunk kids. The Amberjack V had a good mix of young adults, families and older generations. I liked the fact that the DJ was on one floor only, so once the music got too loud you could escape to the lower floor or outside for some peace and quiet. However, I agree with the last reviewer about snacks. We were starving when we boarded and the first seating didn’t begin until an hour after. There should have been some cheese and crackers at the very least, and in my opinion — sodas should have been free as well. I also found it odd that the next seating was called 20 minutes before the fireworks began. My only other complaint was not the crew’s fault, but with the fellow passengers. One annoying woman brought a portable radio on board and played it at full blast during the fireworks show. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the audio quality wasn’t so poor and ringing in my ears. Hopefully the Amberjack V crew will make it a rule for people to not add their own soundtrack(at such a high volume). In short, the crew was nice(family-owned), the food was decent, and the views of the fireworks were great — just make sure you get on deck early to save yourself a good spot. I won’t do this cruise again, but I’m happy I tried it.

Just went on their July 4 fireworks cruise which I tried to cancel because of the threat of heavy rain… I’m so glad I didn’t. Now I’m going to sound like a relative of the captain but let me tell you, it was worth every cent. The food was plentiful and sooooo good. Music was upstairs but we had my friends Mom with us and she could not walk the stairs so we didn’t dance or go upstairs. The music did not penetrate downstairs to break the peace… you can only hear it faintly. The crew. You couldn’t have hand picked a better crew. They were respectful, always around to help and one had a feeling of safety onboard. The facilities are clean and the seating comfortable. I didn’t like smoking onboard even though I knew it was only on the outside… well, not that many smokers and I never felt chocked upon. They had a nice mix of people… like a smorgesboard. I believe, because of the attitude of the staff, the people were totally thoughtful and polite. I’m going again next year. Someone I was talking to said she planned to have her wedding onboard… That’s my review 5 Stars Barbara PS The fireworks were awesome
