Went in for breakfast at around 10:30. I was one of two people there, and ordered a bacon and cheddar omelette. Took about twenty minutes to arrive. Not bad, but certainly not worth that wait. The staff was disinterested at best. The décor was nice, but while I have no problem with hip-hop, the soundtrack seemed really incongruous with the southern homestyle surroundings. All in all it was a bit of a disappointment. I will say, though, that the cowboy fries were very good.

Love love love Alice’s Arbor! The food is amazing, staff is awesome and friendly, and the atmosphere is casual and unpretentious. I’ve only come here once for dinner and once for brunch, but both were great. I preferred dinner over brunch though. They have nice outdoor seating(and quickly helped my friend and I get inside when it started pouring). Unfortunately, I don’t remember what I had for dinner since it was a while ago, but I do remember that I thought it was delicious. The one negative about brunch was that the coffee we had was way too bitter(hopefully it was just a bad pot!). I really love that it feels like a neighborhood place and you have to get dressed up or anything.

Had a delicious dinner with the wife at this restaurant last night. We ordered the cheese plate, pretty small for the price, but the truffle honey more than made up for it. I could put this on anything and it would be amazing. We are both vegetarian, so we split a bunch of small plates. We had Brussels sprouts(maple syrup glazed w/out the bacon), cauliflower(seemed like it was in some type of lemon sauce with capers), black eye pea bean salad(really yummy), and cowboy fries(wife had to remind me not to eat them all so she could have a few). Overall, everything was on point, food, service and ambience. The only con I could mention is the pricing per portion, but it’s not unreasonable. If you want a great meal and your in Bed-Stuy, definitely worth giving this place a try.

Oh Alice’s Arbor… what has happened to you??? When I moved to this neighborhood 2 years ago, this was one of my favorite spots for brunch. Reliable, hip, cool music, great service… just a solid, solid spot. Well, based on the brunch I just had, none of that remains. We waited 30 minutes while 7 tables were — and remained — open. The hostess then sat us, failing to bring menus. 10 minutes later, after I had to flag someone down, a waitress came over and said, can I help you? Um, yes. The whole menu thing? Right, we need them. Just a total disaster of a place now. The food was mediocre, and the portions were minuscule. One of our party got the Caesar salad. For $ 12, it consisted of one handful of lettuce, 2 anchovies and a couple of croutons. We actually had to ask if perhaps they brought a side salad on mistake? Oh no, we were assured, that was the entrée size. Overall, it was a train wreck. Pains me to say this, but we will not be coming back, and I would definitely steer people clear of here until it gets its crap back together. Bummer.

Alice’s is a gem in the neighborhood. Brunch here is awesome, and i’ve never had a bad entrée. The vibe is casual and rustic, and there are several tables outside. I’ve been obsessed with The Cubano on french toast since the first time we had it, but sadly we are late brunchers and they have been out of french toast the past few visits. Order it and it will blow your mind. The seared scallops are a must try, and the burger and cowboy fries are steller. The roast chicken is perfectly done, and not over seasoned like many chicken dishes I have tried. On Monday they have an amazing deal for $ 29 which includes an appetizer, entrée and wine or beer. Minus one star for the only problem with this place-that it gets so darn hot in the Summer. We would go a lot more if they got some decent AC.

Service: attentive, friendly, feels like home Atmosphere: unrefined organic quality with what looks like old wood, reclaimed materials, a raw metals. The large, airy space is decorated with antique farm-kitchen goods. Check out the unique, sliding barn door for the women’s bathroom(really should be gender neutral, so everyone can check it out). Food: We came for brunch and chose the $ 19 prix fixe, which includes an entrée, coffee/juice, and alcoholic breakfast beverage. The fresh OJ is great, and my husband loved his mimosa. The blood mary packs a punch. The omelets are huge, filling, and sub cowboy fries for free. I enjoyed the kale salad topped with 2 poached eggs– it’s a meal salad and does not leave you wanting(avocado, nuts, fruit, tangy dressing, very well-balanced). Plus: Plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options!

This is a pretty cool spot! Been here several times. The food is great and the ambiance just as enjoyable. My husband wasn’t crazy about his long Island ice tea but I’ve always enjoyed the drinks I’ve had there. My favorite food item would have to be the macaroni and cheese. Though I have to say I was devastated when they removed the lobster as an add on to the Mac and cheese, in fact they removed quite a few of the add ons which kinda stinks! However it is still good in itself. The kale salad is awesome! 1 dollar oysters at happy hour couldn’t be better. They have a kids menu which is great. The strip steak was just«ok» The service is pretty good(I’ve liked most of the servers) and I’ve never felt rushed the times I’ve been there. It’s nice to have a cool little spot like this right here in my neighborhood. I plan to try it out for brunch, but I’ve been told that’s good as well. Bottom line this is a cute, trendy, easy to chill and make yourself at home spot. With actual quality food. The first time I came my girlfriend and I stayed hours and were never made to feel bad. If they still had the lobster add on it would have 5 stars! Lol

Great farm to table food. The brunch is amazing. The dinner is good — and not too over priced. The ambiance is really cool and trendy. No reservations allowed, so plan a little time to wait for weekend brunch. It is well worth it :)

Went here for brunch with friends yesterday and I’m definitely a fan. We sat outside, and got to sit near the cutest puppy ever so that was a plus and a great start to my Saturday. Our server was great and the prix fixe deal was definitely worth it. I had the kale salad because I was ~trying to be healthy~ despite spending the rest of the day eating and drinking like shit. Alas, the salad was delicious and actually very filling.

I rolled in by myself at like 11:40 before the kitchen closed. The place was still jamming with a dv and like 1⁄3rd of the tables full. The interior is designed pretty hip and definitely has a more date-type feel at night. For my party of one, I ordered the Wood Oven Roasted cChicken and a side of brussels sprouts w/bacon. The chicken was done pretty perfectly. The skin was crispy and the meat moist. You get the thigh/leg and part of the side of the chicken I think. Whereas the chicken was good, the stuffing wasn’t that impressive. I took a star off because the«black barley with celery root, parsnip, turnips, celery, carrots, parsley, sunchokes, rosemary chicken jus» stuffing wasn’t really that good… The brussels sprouts were pretty amazing though. These were cooked in some sort of maple syrup and the bacon were tiny small chunks, definitely flavorful. I would recommend this side with everything.

I had a fantastic brunch at Alice’s Arbor– the menu is lovely, with slightly hipster twists on classic brunch dishes. Definitely recommend the crab hash with poached eggs. I’ve been searching for it in Manhattan ever since. We made a ‘reservation’ by ringing in advance– they don’t actually take reservations for Brunch but they said they would keep an eye on a table for us since we were such a big group(7 of us). Leisurely service, but I quite enjoyed it– some places feel like they are rushing you out, which didn’t happen, although they had plenty of people waiting for our table. They did do a typical annoying American thing though, which is take the plates of the people who had finished whilst others in the group were still eating. Heads up– Brits(and any Europeans, actually) HATE this. Waitresses in Britain would be fired for this. But Alice’s Arbor isn’t the only place this has happened, so I can’t be too down on them about it… Overall, nice, friendly vibe with nice décor in a fairly large space(plenty of seating). Would I go back– no, but only because it’s so out of the way. That’s good though, because no Touristy vibe– for those tourists looking to ‘live like a local’, I recommend this place.

I’m glad I found this spot! I needed coffee and wifi and ended up spending hours here. My servers were really nice and laid back. Great cappuccino and I’m obsessed with the toast with goat cheese and honey, it was perfection. The lemonade, not so much. I should’ve gone for wine as their list looked pretty quality but I wasn’t in the mood to drink for once so I went with it. ;) I’ll be back for dinner, drinks, and maybe other laptop nights! Their wifi password is their phone number.

One of the best gin cocktails I’ve ever had(The Cloud Break), and fries that hit the spot when you’re drinking. Oysters were 86’d though the place looked empty(maybe dinner crowd wiped them out?). Our server was a little strange, and the cheese and charcuterie plate left much to be desired. It was yummy, but I’ve never seen such tiny slivers of cheese on a cheese & charcuterie board!

A group of us came in for Sunday Brunch. Surprisingly, we were seated right away, even though we were there at prime brunch time. I ordered the Crab Hash and was so happy with my choice — the large chunks of crab meat, the crispy potato pancake over greens, and perfectly poached eggs all were perfect. It was a great indulgent brunch plate without feeling overly heavy or crazy. I left feeling perfectly full without feeling gross(a tough line to tread with brunch.) The coffee was hot and fresh, although many of our mugs were only half-filled when they were first poured. Our server was fantastic. She was funny, friendly, and gave a lot of helpful information to help us navigate/make our choices.

Came here for brunch and totally dug it. It’s cute and charming inside. Food wise, I got the frisée salad with poached egg, blue cheese, bacon and a bacon red wine vinaigrette. Small but amazing. Also, good Bloody Mary’s but they should put them in pint glasses.

Went here because I was way too early for my nail appointment at Very Polished nearby. Glad I did because I had a good experience. Can’t remember his name but he was friendly and always made sure if I need anything. It was very affordable breakfast meal, but coffee is a separate cost. Just so you know. Its also was nice to find a place I don’t have to feel awkward that I was myself enjoying my meal. The bathroom was clean and functional. The only thing is it was during the weekday, so I won’t be able to tell you how it is on the weekends. From the other reviews and pictures it seems a bit busier than the week. Love the atmosphere either way and looking forward to coming back. I would like to try the brunch menu next time.

Great staff, everyone pitched in-not just 1 assigned waitress/waiter assigned to a table. Cute décor and tasty food. We visitied for Sunday brunch and had the smoked salmon omelette, crab hash, cowboy fries and hibiscus tea. We’ll definitely be back for dinner in the near future.

The service here was good. My first time going but they delivered. I went for brunch I love the vibes very Afrocentric. If your hungover try a coffee with bourbon. I had the steak and eggs I just didn’t like the black bean sauce and my steak wasn’t medium rare it came out more well done but hey it was still tasty.

I feel like I have been here enough times to stand by my orginal review that the food is hit and miss. I mean with out fail every time something I order comes out janky. Today I ordered the exact same Turkey avacado with 2 medium fried eggs. After 21 minutes I get scrambled eggs or something that looked scrambled . My note to managment is get your kitchen staff on the same page. The service is still great and I still love you Alice but seriously, get it together.

We got there around 5:11pm on a Sunday and were told they weren’t serving meals as they were using this time to clean up after the lunch crowd and prepare for dinner service. I’ve never heard of this practice before(I usually get served no matter what time I enter a restaurant) but it seems a popular practice here because the spot next door said the same thing almost verbatim. The inside of AA(hahaha) is decorated chic(sheeek) and feels a tad bit busy from my view at the bar, yet manages to maintain a sweet chill, relaxed vibe. Loads of framed photos adorn the exposed brick walls. I’d recommend it to couples and friends. The bartender is very knowledgeable as well as pleasant and professional. He attended to us and even answered several almost intrusive questions from my friend who was busy making comparisons to his own bar business smh. Why do I let them out with me. Despite its glowing recommendation from Matteo R and the bartender encouraging us to put our food orders even before time, we had coffee, cider and left. Not because we didn’t like the spot, but we we opted for something else. I especially enjoyed the sidewalk seating area. AND I had fun eavesdropping on a couple’s first(seemed like it) date. Run when you see me y’all! Lol. Tight summer spot for sHure! The End.
