Well managed and carefully instructed practices. Both I(59) and my 6 year son love it.

Very knowledgeable and experienced staff, and very respectful and professional dojo members. If you ever thought of learning Aikido, Aikido of SOuth Brooklyn is the perfect place to start.

I began training at Aikido of South Brooklyn about 11 months ago. I’d had some martial arts study as a kid, but the prospect of re-starting at the age of 44 was daunting. I was apprehensive, hesitant at first — unsure I could learn this art or handle it, in terms of both mental discipline and physical fitness. I needn’t have worried. The people are talented, supportive, and focused. Each member of the dojo has encouraged me and helped push me to better understand and practice Aikido. Every class is a rewarding experience, and I each time I go, leave the dojo in a much better frame of mind than the one I was in when I arrived. I highly recommend it.

This place is the best! Great people, great atmosphere, excellent place for anyone interested in learning Aikido. I had always wanted to take Aikido classes, but was constantly putting it off because I let the daily grind get in the way– I’ll start when things calm down at work, I’ll start after renovating the kitchen, etc– Next thing you know, years pass and you wish you had started years ago. Of course, once you start, it takes years of training to learn. But that time will pass anyway, and you can either pass it while learning, or letting life get in the way. One year from now, you can either have regrets, or a belt. Aikido is a fascinating martial art, a great way to spend a couple of nights a week doing something completely beneficial for yourself outside of the norm. If you’re thinking about checking out Aikido, do it at Aikido of South Brooklyn. The instructors are excellent, everyone is extremely helpful and friendly– I always look forward to class, wish I could free up more time to get to this dojo more often.

I’ve been a student of Josh Paul Sensei’s for several years and I highly recommend his classes at Aikido of South Brooklyn. Classes are interesting to beginners and advanced students alike, and the dojo is a friendly community where members encourage each other in their training. If you are interested in trying aikido for the first time, I think it’s a good place to begin your training.
