Contractors get a terrible rap. We have worked with many general contractors over the years, and A&M has restored my faith in renovation humanity. Throughout our extensive home rehab project, the A&M team was attentive, honest, professional, trustworthy, friendly, communicative and reasonable. Our preliminary estimate was transparent, thorough and proved that Mike cares about his work and his clients’ needs. They were never late, often staying on site past normal business hours until a segment of the project was completed, and more than a few times showed up on weekends and holidays to help us with unforeseen obstacles. Every step of the process was discussed openly, all of our requests and concerns were met directly and promptly, and every aspect of our scope of work was accomplished with excellent quality and expert tradespeople. We are thrilled with the results and we will hire A&M again for all future projects.

Roof decks in NYC are amongst one of the most coveted amenities you could wish for in your apt or home.
I’d been fortunate to have one although I never got around to doing any more than laying AstroTurf on it and calling it a day.
So when I finally decided to upgrade I knew I wanted something killer. However my budget was moderate.
I must’ve gone through 5 estimates before I fell upon A & M building.
I immediately got the impression that they knew their stuff. More importantly, they knew how to work with the budget I had and to deliver a deck that looked better than the budget.
I’m ecstatic with the result.
I went with IPE wood, or more commonly called iron wood. It’s extremely hard wood as its name suggests, and difficult to work with, but it was handled expertly.
Finally, I just want to say that above the great work, I felt very comfortable with these guys and never doubted their honesty or terrific attitudes and work ethics. Hard to find these days

A HUGE thank you to Mike from A&M Building and remodeling for fixing a leak in my home that has been plaguing me and my family for years. We had actually hired A&M to redo our bathrooms and Mike and team did a beautiful job converting a half bath into a full bath and updating our outdated master bathroom with all new tiles, cabinets and fixtures. He was wonderful and easy to work with and on a whim, I asked him to take a look at the roof as well and I am so glad I did. We have had contractor after contractor come and assess the roof, «patch it» or strip it and seal it and still the leak persisted during heavy rain. Mike was the first and only person to suggest it might be the flashing against wall (where the roof and the wall meet) rather than the actual roof itself and for the first time in years we have not had a drop of water in home after a heavy rain! Now I have two beautiful new bathrooms and a ceiling that finally does not leak. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Highly recommend using A&M!

A&M Building and Remodeling are definitely worth the 5 Stars. I would have given them 10 Stars if Unilocal allowed it.
They installed new vinyl on my house. My house now looks beautiful (I’ll upload pictures later). The color that we chose looks very lux and expensive. One of our neighbors told us that they were quoted by another contractor a significantly higher price for the same color. Apparently the color that we chose was supposed to cost more but Mike gave us a really fair price.
To have finally found a GREAT contractor that wasn’t about doing a fast, cheap job, just to suck money out of us was amazing. They really did appreciate our business, and it showed in the quality of their work.
The Owner, Mike showed up every day and worked right alongside his team.
After making the deposit for our new vinyl, Mike continued to contact me regarding a time frame, logistics and the weather. It rained for 2 weeks straight and Mike called me every other day to give me an update. When the weather cleared up, and he was able to begin; he showed up on time every single day with a friendly and professional demeanor (his staff did as well). His team made sure to clean up the derby every day. I am pleased and very happy with my decision to hire Mike over the other overpriced contractor.
I will be using A&M Building and Remodeling again for multiple renovations that are needed in and around my home. It feels good to finally find a great contractor (who doesn’t look at you as a $). He is a really nice down to earth guy as well. Very humble.

Without question the best in the business. Initially, A&M installed a custom closet in my home which looks like something out of a magazine — absolutely amazing. My home was left cleaner than when they started and they were honest, reliable and easy to work with. I have since referred them to friends and relatives and they ended up re-​siding my mother’s house and she was as happy with their work as I was. So happy to have found a contractor I can trust!
