I tried this place last night and found it to be pretty good. I had the vegetable and egg noodles and thought it was a very nice touch that they actually bring out the fried egg to you and then put it in your soup. I agree with some of my fellow reviewers that indeed they do not skimp on the toppings and the broth is sweet. I found he sweetness of the broth(mixed with some hot sauce) to be the perfect combo. My few reservations about this place are: –cash only… –a little to simple for my liking… It’s probably not authentic but I’d rather have more diverse ingredients mixed in, –the spoons are too small for soup. Overall though I thought the place was great and best of all very affordable.

the menu looks great because there are so many kinds of noodles to choose. The beef tastes good and the vegetables are fresh. The most impressive thing is the pepper sauce — it has the same flavor as that in China. But there is still a shortcoming that the shrimps taste bad so I don’t recommend noodles containing shrimps.

Communication might be a problem but just bring a chinese friend. The noodles are simple and good. Particularly the beef stew chow mein hand pulled noodles. You get a soup on the side and stuff is not expensive for the portion you receive.

If I haven’t gone to this place more than once, I would have probably given it 4 stars. But because I’ve been here more like 4 – 5 times already, I’ve noticed the broth is actually quite sweet. which is a little unusual for this type of noodle soup. I was definitely blown away the first time having it. I ordered the hand-pull noodle with beef stew. The fried egg was a good addition. Also lots of vegetables. They are definitely not stingy with the ingredients. The second time I went there, tried the planed noodles. Eh. Not a huge fan. So I’ve stuck with the hang-pulled noodles since then. They have a great variety tho. You can choose duck, fish balls, any kind of seafood, and if you are Asian enough — intestines — with the noodles ;) Definitely add the hot oil + hot pepper that they have on the table. It actually adds a really nice flavor to the broth. I’m wondering if they actually make that hot sauce themselves. I was seriously contemplating on asking them if I could buy it… I think it’s a couple that runs that place. Nice people :) And every time I go it’s pretty empty(it’s a small place), so I never have to worry about waiting. Not bad for lunch hour away from the hospital :)

I take my son here atleast twice a week. Nothing fancy but good fresh noodle soup for $ 4.50. Don’t bother with any of the meat add ins. Basically your ordering meat bones or dry poor quality meat. Stick with the«Vegetable and Egg» Hang pull noodle soup. Comes with a yummy broth, spinach and a fried egg. Put the spicey stuff from the table in it too! Ok, so we now know the owners b/c we go there even in the dead of summer(tho they don’t speak a word of english, we muddle through!). They make the noodles right in front of your face which is an amazing thing to see! We bring people from all over the world for a little taste a Brooklyn on the REAL and they marvel. We can also look like big spenders for picking up the check ;-) The fried dumpling are GREATTOO!

Since the weather has turned cold I have been trying to find some nice hot soup places. Passed by this place a million times. Place is small with about 14 seats. I love the sound of noodle dough being banged on the wooden slab by the chef. And there is flour all over. I just love fresh noodles. Had the Hang-Pull Noodle with Squid. The soup came out quick, well there was nobody else in the place. I loved how there was two fried eggs floating in this wintery broth. The noodles were nice and fresh and there was just the right amount of squid to be found. I am going to continue my winter time journey on 8th avenue. Screw Cambells, Lipton, Chunky or whatever bullshit soups that come in a can. I am going to stick with the winners and 8th avenue has a bunch of winners.
