My favorite restaurant in park slope. The food is delicious and the bar is a great spot to hang in. Also love the cocktails! Would highly recommend this restaurant !

We often have drinks and dinner on the bar side of this establishment. There’s live music on Sunday evenings that we have enjoyed. Unfortunately it can also be very clique-y on these nights and we have experienced rude and aggressive behavior from other patrons. Not cool.

Very much a 3-star establishment. Service is good, food is disappointing, and prices are ridiculously high for what you’re getting. The menu makes the food sound very upscale as do the prices. Unfortunately what sounded delicious — brick oven pressed chicken w/pancetta, grilled artichoke hearts, garlic mashed potatoes, and lemon-Parmesan gravy — came out looking and tasting like cafeteria food. Two-thirds of my plate was filled with the mashed potatoes, there was no pancetta, and the artichokes«hearts» were bland and rubbery. If you’re going to eat here, keep it simple. Get a burger and fries w/a beer. In fact, that’s really what this place should be. Simple American food at a lower price point. Burgers, fries, Mac & cheese, sandwiches, etc. My date got the full entrée of gnocchi with asparagus. Poor guy only got 10 pieces of gnocchi and had to eat some of my mounds of potatoes to avoid leaving the restaurant hungry. $ 90(2 entrees/2 drinks) later, I left vowing to never return unless it’s for their $ 11 burger. Rip-to-the-off!

Had an early brunch in this restaurant/bar. The environment was very mellow and quiet which I liked. The service was definitely up to point. They checked in with us like about 5 times. The food was delicious, I ordered a chicken BLT which the waitress said was am awesome choice which in deed it was. With a glass of white wine. It was the perfect set off for my relaxing afternoon. Definitely coming back

Went for dinner and drinks. The food and drinks were delicious and fairly priced. The bartender and busboys were polite and on their A game. The reason I’m giving this restaurant three stars instead of four or five is because of our waitress. We ordered mussels and mac-and-cheese as appetizers — neither showed up before our meal. When we alerted a busboy about the issue our waitress came over and gave us an excuse as to why these items didn’t show up. People make mistakes and this would normally not be a big deal, but she just stood in the corner entire meal or hid in the kitchen. She didn’t check on our table or really apologize at all. She did send other people to fix the mistakes and barely looked at us when giving us the bill. Maybe she wasn’t having a good night or maybe she’s not a great waitress.

Went here for brunch and it was delicious! The Mussels are a must. They are served in a delicious curry broth and served with crunchy country bread. The omlette was very good too, so was the mimosa! All in all a very good local joint with nice staff and great food pairings. Highly recommend.

Attended a running meet up group here. We ran the trail near prospect park and returned here for brunch. The French toast was really, really good. The raspberry and banana served with the French toast was fresh although the banana could have been a bit ripper. The orange blood mimosa was deliciousness as well. I had ordered a side of eggs and it was such a huge portion, but I can’t complain about it being too much. Overall it was really good and I would def recommend it.

We have now eaten dinner at 12th Street Grill three times and been to the attached bar as well. On the whole, I really like it here and have yet to have a bad meal. Pluses: great music, excellent bartenders, bread is delicious and there are several choices, appetizers/salads are big enough for sharing, excellent and reasonably priced burger. Super plus: at least at dinner time, no small children — a rarity in Park Slope. Minuses: service, while always pleasant, can be lackluster — waitresses disappear for long stretches, menu is kind of standard for the neighborhood although some of the specials are very interesting, mains are very expensive. Frankly I am always astonished how empty the restaurant is on a weeknight.

Nothing objectionable, but nothing remarkable either. The food reminds me of standard Marriott lobby restaurant fare. Given all of the creativity in the neighborhood and the fact that it’s a nice space, I’m surprised they haven’t done more to modernize. Would love to see them bring in more seasonal fresh and local food.

Walked in on a Tuesday night because I had a coupon for a free bottle of wine with the purchase of 2 entrees that was good on monday and Tuesday nights. We were Seated right away; there was plenty of open seating. The ambiance is somewhat romantic, low lighting with icicle Christmas lights in the windows, high ceilings, waitstaff wearing all black. Shared the small sized gnocchi and a salad as an appetizer. Both were good. The salad was large, definitely enough for sharing and wouldn’t have needed an additional appetizer on top of it. The gnocchi was good too. For the entrée inhad the chicken and my husband had the trout. Both were just ok. The trout needed more seasoning. The chicken was fine but the accompaniments were very basic and uninteresting. The service was friendly but seemed like the service you would get at a red lobster or chillis. I don’t know how else to describe it besides they hadn’t really mastered the art of serving. For example, the waitress had to come back to the table a few times with follow up questions, two different people came to offer dessert menus after we declined dessert, we asked for the salad to come before the gnocchi but they came together(meaning the gnocchi was going to get cold if we are the salad first…), we had to specifically say who was ordering the salad(even though we were sharing it) because she needed to know how to indicate it in the computer… Little things but overall it showed lack of comfort/experience as a wait staff. Nothing to ruin the meal though. Overall it was a fine experience. I’m not jumping at the opportunity to go back, but nothing bad to say.

I really love this restaurant. I often bring people here for birthday dinners as the food is consistently good, the service is on point — not disruptive but not ignoring you either, and the price point is very good for the quality of the food. I’ve been coming here for about three years and have never been disappointed. I’ve tried several of the menu items and it’s often difficult for me to decide what to order given that I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever had. Nice ambiance as well. If you’re looking for an unpretentious and affordable restaurant that still offers a good dining experience I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in choosing 12th Street!

Although my boyfriend and I live close and come often, one visit in July stands out: our waitress was really attentive but busy & we quickly realized that she had every table in the packed restaurant! Obviously someone had called out sick, but she zig-zagged with a smile and fervent friendliness, ensuring every table was helped. I wish I had remembered her name, but it is a testament to the fine staff they hire– so important for a neighborhood place!

Another year round beets-n-goat cheese joint. I had a similar meal in the Kansas City Marriott restaurant earlier this week and liked it every bit as much.

For me this place is all about the Sunday brunch. This is a perfect place to stop by on the way to, or coming from, Prospect Park which makes this an amazing spot for brunch on Sundays. Sometimes it can get a little crowded because it’s not a huge space, but it’s never crazy busy. My wife and I can come in and get served usually with no wait, but a party of four or more might want to make reservations. The spot is great, perfect for an afternoon date, the food is good and the service is great. I should point out that the burgers from 12th street are damned good as well. You wouldn’t think it, but I would include this on the short list of the best burgers in Brooklyn. It’s just a nice and juicy patty that melts in your mouth. And fried onions… my favorite burger topping.

This place has gone SERIOUSLY down the slope! I stopped by the old watering hole for a late night drink. It’s been a while since I’ve paid the pub a visit(which is completely seperate from the restaurant, which I have eaten at more recently and is fine…) It used to have a cool, hip vibe. But this time, the moment I walked in I was hit by the foulest stench I’ve met in a public place in a LONG time: a nasal cocktail that resembles a combination of stale beer, terrible B.O., and death! To make matters worse I meet(or rather have to accost to get her attention) the bar mistress, your standard, attractive, uptight, Irish woman — as they all seem to be these days — who seems to hate all sorts of people, who finds pouring customers beer out of a tap to be the most brutal work on the planet, for which they demand to be paid top dollar… Notwithstanding; after I finally get her attention and ask if it’s okay for me to have one pint of beer, so that I can get drowsy enough to fall asleep, she says, Yes, pours me a pint, charges me, and I trip her generously for the service. Next thing I know, PIX11 nightly news is blasting obnoxiously at full volume. I can hardly hear myself think. Then, after less than 10 mintues, the bartender’s «mentor»(She must have been new, because she seemed to be coached by this man, who’s manner convinced me he was some sort of veteran employee of the establiahment) began extinguishing all the candles in the place and explaining how the mistress of the bar is from Staten Island and eager to get home and, blah, blah, blah… which is all fine and understandable, however: My vision of a bar — as an active patron — is one that makes one feel at home, invited, and if it’s closing time, let’s me know before I buy a beer, a place where I unload all of my problems to the bartender(and tip well for the trouble), not the depressing reverse. A note to management: perhaps it’s worth hiring someone in the neighborhood — or from the same borough — for the night shift, instead of some cranky commuter who is going to kill your business. Here’s hoping you get your vibe back!

Had a lovely dinner here few evenings ago. I was with a group of friends with kids. Children got their own menu with terrific choices. Our meal was tasty. We shared a delicious caprese salad, grownup eat salmon, steak, and tacos. Kids had mini burgers and pasta. Excellent cocktails and wine. Services was quick and polite. Restaurant is quiet, with good vibes. Loved the entrance’s big window, ’cause it filters amazing sunlight colors!

This is a review for the bar next door and not the restaurant(although the food comes from there). First, their BOGO happy hour is a fantastic deal. Second, the burger is damn good – super juicy and cooked perfectly. My only qualm was that the onions on the burger were obviously not flash fried to order and tasted a bit stale. That being said, I still ate the whole thing and it was delicious. Great crowd at all hours, although strangely, people bring their kids to this place when it’s a definitely a bar – that’s Park Slope for you :)

The first time I went there was wonderful. We popped in for a drink in the side bar and came back over to the restaurant for cocktails. Their mussels(not missiles according to autocorrect) were divine. Rich, buttery and super delicious curry sauce. We also ordered the truffle mac and cheese which was ok. I personally like mac and cheese to have a thicker sauce and leave you feeling a lot more guilty? Second time, we came in and sat in the both area to the side only to realize that there was an explosion of sticky sauce everywhere– booth seat, chair, table, napkins and even the glass mirror behind the booth. It even got on our bags and all over our clothing just from sitting for a brief moment. We moved to another spot and had a better time of it, although it was not a good start. Would you rather be sticky or itchy for the rest of your life? Hands down itchy. Again, the mussels were fabulous and they comped a drink for the sticky disaster. My friend ordered a burger medium but it was definitely on the medium rare side and she didn’t finish it. Hmm. I like this place and would come back again, but this second visit kinda cancels out the first especially when we stood up and walked out and I had to tell my friend she had sticky marks on the back of her pants and I realized my sweater and my bag had were sticky too. Yikes. Good food but we both wish we would have done a pat before we sat…

With the beautiful weather finally returning, I have been eager to go out more. Last night, we decided to check out this place as we passed it a while ago on a late night stroll. I had read lots about it on Unilocal before coming, and I saw there was a huge gap in people’s reviews. People were either very satisfied, or they did not care for this place at all. For my own experience, it was so-so. The location is absolutely gorgeous, and the ambiance is excellent. The décor is very trendy/modern, and I like how the bar is placed in the front with a great view towards the street. The restaurant is simple yet classy. Less is more, right? I had the Po Boy sandwich with sides of Mashed Potatoes. The side dish was completely unnecessary as the sandwich was enormous. It was, however, delicious. It is light food, not too filling. Maybe not a huge fan of their aioli, but other than that, everything was good. I also stole some fries from my roommate, and they were out of another world! For dessert, I had the chocolate truffle cake. Absolutely amazing! I would come back only for that. Regarding the food, I have no complaints. The staff was okay. I wouldn’t give them 5 stars, and they did not make me feel very welcome. They are the reason why this place only gets 3 stars. One of the girls who served us was very snappy with an attitude. They were slow with taking our orders and serving the food, but as we were in no rush, I didn’t have a problem with that. It took us, however, an hour to pay. That is, in my opinion, completely ridiculous. We had three different servers throughout the meal even though there were only three parties, which made the experience a tad unorganized. I am a firm believer in bad days and second chances. Maybe we just came in one of those days. I will definitely be back another time.

My family and I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. We come here out of convenience, and the food used to be consistent. Ever since the renovation, this restaurant has gone WAY down hill. The staff, and management is very rude. It comes to show how important hospitality is to give a restaurant a good review. The food is not terrible, but definitely overpriced for what it is. Brunch is disappointing. My Mother and sister had such a terrible experience here recently. They came in for dinner, and the staff wouldn’t seat them where they wanted to sit. They claimed they had a reservation(I guess they were a no show), and they seated an older couple there. The restaurant was not crowded at all. They weren’t given any flexibility on where to sit. It seems that this restaurant really only accommodates those that are above the age of 50. Before this incident, I ordered $ 100 worth of take out, and they put the mashed potatoes in the same container as the salmon(presentation was really messy). Almost all of my mussels were closed, and my grilled salmon had a white sauce spread all over the top(that I did not ask for). Again, the staff is strange, owner is always drinking in his own establishment(not professional to begin with), and I think his drinking reflects in his personality and decision making as a business owner. I wish I could write a full review about this place. Some things are better left unsaid. Park Slope offers an array beautiful restaurants with superb food. Go elsewhere.

Utterly Disappointed. Having previously had a lovely brunch experience at my first(and only other visit here), we received a coupon for«complimentary bottle of wine with purchase of 2 entrees, on Monday and Tuesday nights — at the grill only» I saved the the coupon, and came tonight, a Tuesday, at about 10pm for a late dinner with my husband. We were told at the grill to go to the bar next door where they were still serving dinner(same menu). Ok, no problem, different vibe but still cozy. At the bar, I ask the bartender(lovely gal) if the coupon would be honored; she said no, only at the grill, and after explaining our circumstance, she quickly ran to check again at the grill for us. We were told that the coupon for the bottle of wine would only be honored at the grill, no exceptions. Why advertise that the grill is open until 11pm, direct us to the bar to eat, and on top of it not honor the coupon on an off night? The least management could have done was honor the bottle at the bar where we would have happily eaten. I have worked in the food industry for 5 years and can tell you the best way to drive away customers is to not accommodate/honor your offer, especially when the fault is on you, the restaurant. Good luck driving traffic on off-nights, or at all, if this is how you treat patrons.
