So disappointed. Ugh. A friend of ours had a Groupon, so we went with a bunch of kiddos for the Sunday buffet. The good: The service was decent and the beverages kept coming. And that’s about it. Now: The bad. The pizza is NOT good. I don’t understand the loyalty to this place, but okay. They put out 4 mediocre pizzas. Chewy bland crust. Very skimpy toppings. There was a salad bar, which I honestly didn’t try. They had some pulled pork-type stuff that looked dry. I had 4 of the chicken drummies, and those were the best part of the buffet(which is sad). At the far end, they had the leftovers from brunch(?). There were rubbery pancakes, bacon, and dry blueberry mini-muffins. Here’s my huge beef with this place: My just-turned-3-year-old never eats much. He’s picky and always just eats off our plates. He’s 3. That’s what we did today. He had a few pieces of bacon, a couple small squares of said mediocre pizza, and part of a mini-muffin. And they charged us for a child’s buffet. SERIOUSLY?! Okay, I get that people take advantage of buffets and order and split and cheat. I get it. We did NOT order the buffet for my kid, knowing he wouldn’t eat much of anything, and we were charged anyway. Given the fact that the buffet is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced at $ 11.99 for adults for sub-par food… this really pissed me off. We weren’t taking advantage. The only thing remotely delicious were the warm chocolate chip cookies at the end. But that won’t make up for the +\- $ 36 we were charged. We won’t be back.

Not worth it. Even with a Groupon. Plenty of staff but with their lack of speed, training and efficiency, you would think they were understaffed. Food was average at best and under seasoned all around. I wouldn’t recommend and I most likely will never return. I honestly feel bad for the obvious regulars for their lack of sense for decent food and service.

Pregnant craving for Italian. My son got the kids pizza– very good, nice portion. Husband and I shared the fettuccine chicken Alfredo– chicken was white breast but did not seem freshly grilled. Overall it was decent. Would go again. Decently priced. Good for a quick Italian meal– but not 5 star

Decent pizza, lunch buffet that they do a good job keeping stocked. Servers are attentive enough. Have been here for dinner and almost always get a pasta dish, portions are large so we normally split it into two portions.

Meh. Ordered the Pasta Royal. Added salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes… And it was still… meh. I couldn’t fix it. $ 15.99 is highway robbery for a dish like this. My companion chose the soup rather than salad. Chicken wild rice. Despite being«starving» he left it almost untouched. I tried it, and it was sub par to what you could buy in a can. The service was excellent though.

Ordered two pizzas and some garlic cheese bread which came out to 70 dollars with tip for delivery. The order was guaranteed to be here in one hour, ended up being 2 hours and 10 minutes. The delivery man delivering it had to call to get the correct address because the one I have them apparently was too hard to figure out, mind you I did type it in correctly on the website with proof. One pizza was cut and divided, but the other was not. The worst of it all, both pizza boxes were flipped vertically, making all of the toppings shift to one end of the box, and folding over the crust and sauce in the process. This is the second time ive gotten food from this place in almost 10 years, and I can see why… The food is good, if it’s handled with respect, but the service has always been horrible at the brooklyn park location and coon rapids location. Not impressed

my hubby and I went there due to the lunch buffet coupon. We really enjoyed it. The buffet is not too large but overall it was a good experienced… Love their chicken wings selection though

Service was fine, but the lunch buffet food was absolute garbage. The pasta was cold, and everything tasted like it came straight out of a can. Not worth even ¼ of the $ 10 it costs.

I really want to like this place. We have been there twice with family. Both times I was underwhelmed by the food. Both times my pasta dishes were just bland. So bland that adding salt could not bring the flavors out. That’s not how pasta should be. Especially red sauces. There should be deep, developed, complex flavors. My wife did have a calzone which she said was ok. The service was good both times. Good beer selection. But their prices are high. Very high if you factor in the relatively low value of the food. I have not tried their pizzas yet, but I understand they are pretty good. At this point I am not very motivated to try them based on the rest of their menu.

I have to say I am picky about service and food(being in the restaurant business over 25 years) Every time I go to this establishment it has been a pleasant surprise, consistent, great service good food. I just ordered online and instead of choosing delivery I accidentally ordered carry out. After waiting and hour and 15 minutes I called. They immediately sent out a new hot order. Thank you Sammy’s– I am a fan and will always support you locally!

The large«Space for Lease» sign on the corner of Zane and Oak Grove Parkway, right outside of Sammy’s, has discouraged me from stopping before. Today I came around and saw they actually are still open — the spaces available are other storefronts on this complex. Great buffet, with pasta, bbq and buffalo chicken wings, fried chicken, salad bar, and, of course, pizza. The pizza on the buffet is all Minnesota thin crust, which I prefer, and square(instead of pie) cut, which I don’t. But it was all quite tasty. Service is a little slow, but it is lunch time. And you get a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie with your check!

I can’t say I was really impressed with this place. I went for the buffet and I feel it was over prced for the type of blah thin crust pizza I had. Service was meh, once I was reconginzed in my party since I arrived late. I know I can blend in with a crowd, but it was a small table.

Best Happy Hour prices in a 15 mile radius. Service is great too. Perfect for Target employees after work.

Well I have to agree with most of the other reviews here. The food tasted like it came right out the can and wasn’t even hot. Service was fairly good and friendly but that was the only bright spot of our visit.

My wife and I stopped by on a Friday night around 6, thanks to a Groupon deal for $ 15 for $ 30 of food and drink. We were greeted in a friendly manner by the young man at the host stand and were seated in the dining room. It was pretty much full given the time and day and tables turned over pretty frequently. We ordered wine and beer to start while we perused the menu. They do have liquor as well. In addition to pizza, they’ve got a selection of soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and such. As we had never been here previously, we decided to have the Hawaiian(kahuna?) pizza with a side salad. The salad was decent sized, enough so that my wife couldn’t finish it, so I being the human garbage disposal finished it off. It was a mix of spinach and iceberg with nice chunky croutons and thick shredded cheese – tasty enough. The pizza came out a few minutes later. I felt it was a little light on cheese and the crust was thinner and crispier than I prefer. We weren’t asked to customize when ordering, but I would be sure to request a thicker crust next time. Overall, it had good flavor thanks to the jalapeño and chicken on top of the usual Canadian bacon and pineapple. The parm-herb blend from the shaker table side added even more to it. I’d like to come back and try the deep dish meaty options. The waiter, Andrae(think that is what the receipt said-my wife thought he was pretty easy on the eyes), was on the ball with re-ups on drinks and checked in several times to ensure we had all that needed. I’m kinda surprised to have read so many reviews complaining about the service, since I saw nothing but smiles from the staff and they all looked to be working together smoothly with a full dining room. We wrapped up, headed out, and were wished a good night by several employees on the way out. All in all, a good experience.

I have always loved Sammy’s pizza, especially the Northern NN locations. The BP location has always had good food, and I would give higher stars for that alone. However, I can only give 2 stars due to the service. As a tip check your bill… The kids spaghetti comes with a soda and we were charged for 5 sodas. I never received my side salad but I was charged for that too. I also love the frozen take out pizza’s. I have a pizza oven at home and these are delish! It’s not very close to my house, but when I can I will stop for the pizza.

WAYOVERPRICED! This is not the same quality as the Sammy’s in Hibbing either. Still an okay pizza, but not for the price. They have a lunch buffet, which would be great, if it didn’t get overrun by the section 8 folks who come at lunchtime and hog the buffet line and will literally clean out all the pizza before people behind them get a turn. So you spend all lunch hour waiting for more pizza to come out. If you want to pay this much for a pizza, then go to Latuff’s on 55. They never forgot how to load up a good pizza!
