Yuko McColgan, MD

I found Dr. McColgan — «Dr. Yuko» as she and everyone in her office call her — a few years ago when my long-​term (17 yrs!) PCP in the same building was retiring. Since I tend to keep all of my professional relationships long-​term, realizing that I needed a new doctor was stressful.
Fortunately, the stress of changing doctors was easily resolved as Dr. Yuko and everyone in her office is great. I have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes past my scheduled appointment time (sometimes I am taken early) so for anyone who has ever waited 30 – 60 minutes for an appointment, it is like winning the lottery. She does not rush you either, will ask if you have any questions, and if you are sent for any tests (and nice that blood work is done in the same building), you will be called and given the results as soon as they have them.
I have had more appointments with her over the last few years than any normal adult should have with their doctor as I had a very bad accident which lead to even worse surgery. There have been a couple of times when I called to say «um, I need 3 – 5 referrals and need them right away» and everyone at the front desk has taken care of it.
She is affiliated with Beth Israel Hospital, and seems to take almost every insurance imaginable.
