As previous comments have said, I wish I would have checked out their reviews prior to ordering. I had Ozzies the first and last time tonight that is for sure. It was getting late and all other places were closed so I thought I’d give it a shot. The estimated time was an hour and it came over an hour late(2+ hours for delivery in total). For a salad and a gyro plate, that’s insane. The delivery man went to the wrong address and called over 3 times for directions until he finally wound up at my place. The food was disgusting– the lettuce in the salad was in whole pieces not chopped, the fries were cold and soggy, and pita for the gyro was stale. After reading previous reviews and after my experience I’m not quite sure how this place stays in business. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place.

How is this restaurant still open?! Ordered at 8:30, was supposed to get the food by 9:30 didn’t get the food 10:40. The people at the restaurant were rude, flakey and inaccurate. The food was sub-par. Think – frozen food reheated. DON’T order here. He said«next time it will be better,» we said«there won’t be a next time».

Like fools, decided to order soup from somewhere because my partner is laid up with an injury, and we are without groceries, I did not want to travel and leave my S.O. alone for long today. So — used foodler and ordered two soups with sides of «cheezy garlic bread» for delivery. 90 minutes later, we ended up with two pints of what I certainly recognize as Progresso canned soup, with dinner rolls. For $ 18 plus a $ 5 tip. Called the restaurant — they say it’s Foodler’s fault… menu error Foodler say’s they’ll kick us a $ 5 rebate toward a next order. I feel played, wasted money on not only bad food — we did not even get what we ordered… stinks.

Listen to the reviews before you order! This was the worst delivery experience I’ve ever had. I ordered on seamless at 7:30 and didn’t get a confirmation until 8:10. I called to ask how long it would be and they said 30 minutes. Nothing still at 9 so I call back. They obviously recognize my number from before and tell me 5 minutes. At 9:15…still nothing. I call back and they screen my call! If they are so dead that they can recognize a number I don’t get why they have to take almost 2 hours for delivery. The food is fine I guess but I’m never trying this place again and I recommend you do the same. There are a million other places that have way better service in the area.

Don’t even bother with this place. I got home at 11pm from school hoping to get pizza delivered. Despite all the reviews, I figured I’d give the place a chance. After all, it was 11pm on a Monday, and I was pretty hungry. I call to phone in a large cheese pizza with spinach and mushrooms. The person on the phone asks, «Would you like anything else … something to drink? «I reply no, and he then informed me that my pizza would cost $ 20. I’m no fool. Avoid this place.

Wish I would’ve looked up the Unilocal rating before ordering. As I have seen in so many other previous posts… it looks like I’m not the only one who had this issue. Read on… Ordered food at 10:39p. Received call at 10:52p saying they were out of the pilaf I ordered with my steak and they would be sending fries. Person on phone said 30mins for my order from that point. I am writing this at 12:18a to say I have not received my food from this place as of yet. Got a call from a random number that rang and hung up almost immediately. Kept trying to call to see if it was the delivery guy but received no answer, as were my calls to the restaurant unanswered which I assumed was because they close at 11:30p. So as I was writing this the guy just got to my house(12:22a). Not even to my house… he was way down the street and I had to go outside and flag him down. Claimed he had called a few times to try to say they were«so busy» and they wanted to give me a heads up. I explained a heads ups would be you leave a message if I don’t answer and my phone only had one call and had been sitting next to me since they called about replacing my rice. The guy even had a slice of pizza for consolidation. So obviously they knew they were in they were in the wrong before even leaving the shop. I haven’t even gotten to the food yet as I am too irate to even see the shit show that will be based on previous ratings. Either way. Don’t waste your money. God knows I plan on stopping payment of their transaction.

Wish I could give a zero star rating. Placed an order through Grub Hub on March 27th, 2013. Delivery was supposed to take 90 min to be delivered at 12:10 pm. That was already a warning sign. The cold food finally arrived at 1:25 am. The order was incomplete and the food was COMPLETELYDISGUSTING. The charred cheeseburger brick was smaller than a McD’s cheeseburger and was on a 7 inch hard, stale bulky roll. How can they claim that this is «Brookline’s Finest Burger?!?» None of the toppings I ordered and paid extra for were included?!? The«big onion rings» for $ 5.75 included 11 onion rings that were all congealed together because the oil had solidified because they were so cold. Not room temperature cold but«left out on the top of the car for 20 minutes in the winter cold.» The burned $ 5.89 poppers looked like rat droppings. This is perhaps the worst delivery I have ever received. I threw everything away and instead ate Hormel Chili out of a can because it was more appetizing. Grub Hub was amazing and gave me a refund for the seltzer and a $ 10 credit. The manager called me back and refused a refund but offered me 15% off on a subsequent order. I told him that he could not pay me to eat there again.

i was really on the fence between 2 stars and 3, but when i saw the 2-star comment as «meh. i’ve experienced better» i realized it was exactly that. ozzie’s can be relied on to deliver okay pizza at an okay price within a reasonable amount of time. however, if i hadn’t been 3 glasses of wine in while catching up with the girls, i can’t say that i would have even particularly enjoyed the slices. most disappointingly, the mushroom and pepperoni toppings were sparse. the crust was on the soggy side, although i have to give ozzie’s props for offering a thin crust option. i ended up putting the uneaten remainder in the fridge, and we’ll see if it makes it out as leftovers.

THERUDEST, WORSTSERVICEANDDELIVERYEVERDONOTORDER Honestly. Where do I even begin. First off, they came and gave us half of our order, and took a 3 dollar tip for himself without even asking. He promised that he would be back in 15 minutes with the rest of our order. 30 minutes later, I call the store saying he’s not here and they have the AUDACITY to be rude to me over the phone telling me it’s coming in 15 minutes again and practically yelling at me to calm down before he hangs up. ANOTHER30 minutes later. They are still not here and so I call the restaurant AGAIN and they keep telling me 15 minutes 15 minutes. I tell them I want my money back and they are saying why am I asking for my money back this is a business etc etc. Is it not common courtesy to refund the money when they are two hours late? Finally I get the guy on the phone to tell me the delivery man will give me my money back before he hangs up on me. The delivery man calls and tells me he will be here in 3 minutes, I walk out and after 10 minutes, he shows up. Still gives me attitude, doesn’t give me my money back, is rude enough to yell at me and tell me he won’t give me my money back even though I told him that I talked to someone at the restaurant to get my money back and then starts yelling at me,” GOAHEAD, CALL.” So I start calling again to show him and he WALKSAWAY. So incredibly rude I was shaking with rage. The best part? The rest of the order he got us? Wrong. He brings us the wrong food 2 hours later. Don’t ever order from this place, ever. They are so rude, terrible service, they can’t even get your order right, and they stole our money. I’m so disgusted with the state of some restaurants. How is this place still open?

This place sucks. I ordered a simple meal: A cheese pizza and linguini with Alfredo sauce. We asked for a side of crushed red peppers and Parmesan cheese. I went there to pick up my order. The first weird thing was that I had to swipe my own card on the credit card machine and then I chose the amount to charge my card. Um, aren’t the employees supposed to do this part? Ok then… Since the bag was stapled shut I didn’t check the order until after I left. There was no sides of peppers or cheese. Go figures. I opened my what was supposed to be linguini with Alfredo sauce and found bow tie pasta with a splash of sauce and a pound of melted cheese that was cooked so much it was burnt around the edges. Sorry but I am not a fan of bow ties, how do you confuse it with linguini? I didn’t taste the pizza myself but the person that ate it said«remind me to never get pizza from this place again»

After reading all these incendiary reviews, I had to hop on and write an accurate account of my experience with Ozzie’s. It’s a Friday night and I paid with my credit card on Foodler. I just finished a small cheese and bacon pizza from this place, and they got it to me in 90 minutes. The wait on my Foodler receipt said it would take 70 minutes, so proportionally it ain’t that late if you consider that it’s the only place you can order pizza delivery in Jamaica Plain at midnight. About 35 minutes into my wait, they called me saying«Hey this is Ozzie’s.» I said«Okay I’ll be right down.» They said, «No – we had to wait for our driver to get back. He’ll be there in 15 minutes – Do you think you could throw in an extra dollar? He has to pay for gas.» Someone down the page complained about these guys calling up and asking for an extra dollar for tip. I honestly didn’t have it. I told them that and apologized. Note: I ordered the bare minimum of 9.99 plus a soda so it was like $ 15.00 including pizza, 20oz soda, $ 2 delivery fee and 15% tip. At the time I didn’t look at how much that tip would be, but it was $ 1.69. You can’t blame them for trying. If I felt like a cheapskate, it’s because I kinda was. That’s when I came here to Unilocal and began reading horror stories, seeing 1 star reviews all the way down the page and instantly started biting my nails. I was expecting them to wipe their balls in my food because I wouldn’t give them an extra dollar. Fast forward 45 minutes and my food arrives, 20 minutes late but 30 minutes after the pizza place closed and a long way away from Brookline. I live in the southernmost ass end of Boston, at the edge of Jamaica Plain. The kid who came to the door looked innocent and nice. He seemed intimidated by my neighborhood – not the type of kid who would fuck with your food. The pizza was still warm and delicious. I inspected it in high lighting to look for any sort of tainting. I didn’t see shit. I was satisfied. If you live in Boston borders and you’re south of Roxbury, this is the best pizza you’re gonna get this late at night. I usually get pizza from the Roxbury Chinese food place«The No.1 Food.» Now THAT’S truly some goddamn unacceptable Play-Doh. Ozzie’s was good though. Let’s stop crucifying them. I’m currently sipping a cold Pepsi and wishing I had more of their bacon pizza, but it’s bad enough that I just ate bacon by myself on a Friday. :) Cheers guys.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool my twice, shame on me. I have no good excuse for why I gave them a third shot. The delivery if always late. The food is always a little soggy, a bit tasteless, completely not worth what they’re charging for it. They consistently get my order wrong, and when I call them to discuss it, they relentlessly protect themselves, saying there’s no way they could have known because I didn’t give instruction or they ran out. Listen, it’s an online ordering form. And when I order by phone, why don’t you say you’re out of something before sending me something else? These guys are terrible. I’ve never said a business should outright close due to persistent ineptness, but I’m breaking that rule for Ozzies. You guys should have closed last week. Never eating there again.

I attempted to order from Ozzie’s off of Foodler from work — on Newbury St. I was tipping the driver $ 1.50 off of my card… someone had the audacity to call me at work and ask me to tip the driver more money. Honestly, I understand the whole working for tips thing but you should NEVER call someone and ask them for more money! That’s just poor customer service. Never will even ATTEMPT to order from here again after reading the rest of the reviews, either!

Commence angry rant: I was really looking forward to a night off from cooking and the boyfriend didn’t want any of my usual sushi Foodlering so we ordered Ozzie’s burgers, chicken fingers, and potato skins. Ok. Can’t be so bad, right? Ha. To start, the food took over and hour and a half to arrive. The usual Foodler estimates(about an hour) are usually right… and totally fair since this place is about a 5 minute drive away. The delivery person finally called, and was standing at a building half a block away from ours. Apparently the building numbers are indistinguishable??? Avocado mushroom burger: Dry. Overcooked. Had sufficient mushrooms and yet only two, painfully thin slices of avocado. Two. Only about a quarter of an inch thick. I love avocado. I wanted avocado. I got TWOTEENYSLICESONMYBURGER. If you advertise a burger that involves avocado, it should have more than that.(This is only a brief segment of the rant I had when I first opened the burger to discover the distinct lack of avocado… you should feel lucky that I’ve had some time to cool off). The bread was stale and way too big for the paltry burger. Oh, and it was cold. Chicken fingers: Rough. Dry. Flavorless. Or, so says boyfriend. He was particularly grumpy because now he knows I’m going to use this choice(all his) against him in future Foodler orders. Potato skins: A surprising amount of potato still left in the skin. A teeny tiny amount of bacon. Whaaa? Though, did come with an overwhelming saltiness that would totally satisfy if you’re drunk. In the end, I’d like to thank Ozzie’s for giving me the upper hand in future Foodler decisions for at least the next two months. Sushi it is, my friends.

It seems to me that Ozzies Pizza is getting a bit of a bad rap here. The food may not be that fancy, but really: This is a very cheap pizza place that makes decent pizza, and these one-star reviews that I’m seeing here seem way to harsh. We ordered a pizza for takeout and it was quite tasty. It had ample toppings, our kids loved it, and everyone was full and satisfied afterward. Two caveats: We did not order for delivery, and as some reviewers have suggested, they might well have a tendency to screw that up(as do quite a number of restaurants around Coolidge Corner). And their non-pizza food might be as bad as some say, I just don’t know. But there is definitely nothing wrong with their pizza.

Very mediocre food. The meat lovers calzone was greasy and fell apart in your hands. It seemed to be almost all ham, very little of any other meats. They give you no more than a thimble of marinara sauce, so definitely short-changed me on the dipping sauce. Don’t think I’ll order from here again.

This is easily the most dishonest and poorly run restaurant in the Boston area and I’m shocked that it hasn’t been closed down for fraud. Food arrives cold and undercooked and up to two hours late. Good luck getting a refund. Stay away.
