I had ulnar nerve compression syndrome(cubital tunnel). Dr. Earp performed a ulnar nerve translocation to move my nerve from the cubital tunnel to behind some upper arm muscle. Dr. Earp herself was bright and cheery and was very pleasant to see. She examined me throughly, answered my questions patiently, and explained the issue clearly. I felt very comfortable with her recommendation to get surgery. The surgery went smoothly, everything was explained upfront. The surgical staff and staff in the surgical area were terrific. Recovery is going well, my follow-up went well, though I saw another doctor. However, the hand surgery practice at the Harvard Vanguard could use some improvement. In general the desk clerks were impatient and generally unpleasant(the nurses were fine). I wanted a long time for all of my appointments(over 40 min in waiting room, plus another 20 – 30 in the exam room). The desk clerks could not tell me why my appt. was delayed and seemed unhappy that I even asked. They have a sign up that says something like«If you are waiting 15 min or longer, an explanation will be given». Nothing was given. All-in-all, because of Dr. Earp, the whole ordeal was positive.
