Ordered the Boston, Spicy Tune, and Chicago rolls. It was ok. Not the typical kind of rolls that i normally get else where. it was bland and in our spicy tuna roll there were shavings of oyster shells inside with the tuna. we were quite upset fact that the spicy tuna had a kick of Korean seasoning style to it. instead of the usual tuna/spicy mayo sauce it was more so of just tuna and sriracha sauce. Won’t be returning as price for food is found better else where with better quality and freshness.

First walking into the restaurant, the décor is absolutely beautiful — very modern. We sat right by the sushi bar and we were able to watch everything being made. That alone was a great experience. The sushi we order was to due for! Very fresh, very good flavors, amazing presentation. We ordered the Gorilla, Arizona Dragon, and the Flaming Oh-My. Each roll was delicious. It is a bit on the pricey side, perfect for a date night, or special occasion. Overall I would highly recommend.

Had the pleasure to dine here and let me say that I was quite pleased. When the only downside I can think of is the Waukesha tap water(which the server easily overcame by accompanying my water with fresh lemons). This is a nice place and the sushi is fresh and very tasty. The miso soup was also well seasoned and delightful. For $ 13 you get 3 rolls and soup. Great deal on great sushi.

Not good. They goo down there sushi rolls with sauce. Means the sushi is not fresh. It does not taste fresh either. Chef special in sushi restaurant is always the old stuff they need to get rid of and they push you to the specials. yucky, never again

Love this place but I tend to be a purist(sashimi, especially and prefer those dishes here. The role are excellent but can be a little sauce heavy — very easy to tell on their menu though. The Chef specialties(nigiri/sashimi) are totally worth a try and over an excellent variety of flavors and a bit more complexity. Great specials for Monday — Thursday, including $ 1 sale on Thursdays. For $ 10 you can get a very satisfying two rolls and soup/salad for lunch. I stop in frequently enough to have seen some changes in staffing and am happy to say things are getting better and better. The only drawback his entirely out of the owners control due to location but this would make a killer outdoor eating restaurant!

Came here for lunch with a coworker, Weds at 12:30. The place was about half full. Our waitress forgot a number of things, and entered my order wrong — she did correct it, and I got extra free sushi as a result, though! Everything tasted great. At the end of the meal, since we’d been there nearly an hour, I asked the waitress for a to-go box and the check, saying we needed to get back to work. She cheerfully said if I had told her we were in a rush when we first sat down, she could have sped things up for us, since the chicken skewers take awhile to cook… even though those came out first, at least 5 minutes before my sushi. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that someone there during lunchtime on a weekday would in all likelihood want their food in a speedy fashion! I might be back if I’m really craving sushi, but otherwise I’m spending my lunch breaks elsewhere.

I love this place! It is really trendy and has great, quality food! The tables in the back of the restaurant are cozy and private, I love being seated there; there is also a bar for seating. The menu is very extensive with many options in all areas from appetizers to rolls to drinks! The first time I was here we tried some appetizers… asparagus crunch & creamy rock shrimp! Both are coated in crunchy, yet light batter & served with yummy dipping sauces. I’ve heard good things about the monkey brains, so I will have the try that next time! The presentation is wonderful; we tried the«OHMYGOD» roll which is served to you FLAMING! Unnecessary, but so fun! ;D out of the other rolls I’ve tried, the«Rock ‘n’ roll» roll is my fave. Most of the martinis/cocktails are sake based. I’ve tried the black orchid & dirty ginger. The dirty ginger paired well with the sushi, but it has a very strong flavor(both with the ginger and the liquor used). Service is great too! I dined with a two year old the second time I came, and the server was great with him and the rest of the table, of course. Super friendly and patient as we took our time looking over the large menu haha! Oh! The dessert! A lot of ice cream/Michu options! I tried the tempura ice cream… perfect, light ending to a filling meal. The only downside is that it can be pricey, but it’s hard to resist trying a little bit of everything from the menu! I do have another favorite sushi restaurant in the area that’s a little cheaper, so I would frequent that more, but I’m SO willing to pay the price at Wasabi every once in a while for a wonderful night out at this restaurant!

Really nice sushi place! Sat at the sushi bar and the chefs were real cool with the jokes and talking to you. One of the chefs made me a salmon sushi dip on a chip, and it was amazing! And the sushi I ordered was equally as amazing. Little pricey but sushi places usually are on the pricier side. So didn’t mind it. Good food, good host.

Had a great time at Wasabi. We got flaming rolls(something with Tuna, and the Oh-My-God), and the specialty roll for Valentines day(Surf n’ Turf with asparagus and cream cheese). Our server was a lot of fun, the rolls tasted great, and we finished in plenty of time to book it downtown for our 8:00 show — made reservations at 6:00 for those seeking to do the same. I would definitely come back :)

One of my favorite sushi spots in Wisconsin. Service is always good, ambiance is nice, servers are always friendly. Tonight was busy because it is valentine’s weekend however food came out fast. Tonight, we got a wasabi bloody marry-very good bloody marry especially if you like it spicy! Appetizers-spicy edamame which was ok. Loved the flavor, but the edamame itself was a little over cooked and soggy. Miso soup was served warm and flavorful. Sushi rolls served here are the best part! Flaming Dragon– served with flames which was neat! The roll has a yummy smoked tuna taste. Flaming Volcano– also served with flames and was topped with scallops. Kamikaze– very good spicy tuna and salmon topped with spicy mayo dressing. Spicy tuna– can’t go wrong!

Close to work… check Clean…check Sushi…check Lunch Special. check Wasabi is a solid sushi place with an extensive menu. I tried lunch with a friend and the portion sizes were good for the price. If you aren’t getting the lunch special or the half off deals during the week it is a little pricier than your typical sushi place. Proximity to Brookfield Square probably jacks the prices a bit. I had a bento box and the spicy pork with veggies was very good. The rice that came with it was a little sweet for my liking. The pork came with the rice, three dumplings, small salad, half sushi roll and miso soup which is quite a bit of food for $ 10. My friend got the tuna dish over rice which looked good. The strange thing is that it had a mayo drizzle over it. Because she can’t eat dairy it was highly unexpected… who cooks Asian or Japanese food with dairy??? Other than the small mayo glitch I would return for a lunch. If I didn’t work close I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here; however, for a lunch spot it is definitely worth a visit.

The owner of Wasabi apologized for a «not so pleasant» experience at his restaurant. Instead of making a wise decision to not purchase these pre-made spices and sauces from his restaurant that contain MSG in them, which cause some very unpleasant and damaging effects, he simply repeated back to me the same thing that the waitress had told me. I had stated in my earlier review that a restaurant should know what ingredients they are using. If they don’t seem to care about improving the quality of their food by not investing in cheap prepackaged stuff, their choice. The best restaurants make their food from scratch. Also if you want green tea, it isn’t complimentary, it’s $ 6 for a pot(forgot to mention that in the original review. The owner also claims that the food served at his restaurant is «unique». I didn’t find anything unique about what I ordered. Unless unique is code for MSG, I found the food average at best, or otherwise strange in it’s composition. Yes, «odd» or «strange» would be better terms for the decisions made at this restaurant. MSG, or monosodium glutamate, is a food additive found in nearly every processed food, and you may not realize it due to its many names. Monosodium glutamate escaped extensive testing because it is derived from an amino acid, glutamtate, one of the building blocks of protein. There are twenty such amino acids, many of which our bodies can produce on their own, while some of them our bodies cannot. The majority of MSG in the American diet is not of natural origin. The majority of MSG that Americans consume is added to processed foods or created as a by-product of the processing itself. It is also found in much of the food that is served in restaurants. The amount of MSG is particularly high in low-fat foods, canned goods, soups, and gravies. How much is too much MSG? Our research and experience recommends that all MSG that is not of natural origin be avoided. MSG sensitive individuals can experience these symptoms within an hour of consuming only three grams: Stomach cramps Nausea/vomiting Diarrhea Migraine headaches Heart palpitations Rapid heartbeat Sharp rise in blood pressure Rapid drop in blood pressure Blurred vision Joint pain Stiffness in joints Achiness all over body Dizziness and loss of balance Light headed Depression Frequent need to urinate A numbing or burning sensation in the mouth Swelling of the face Pain or tightness in the chest Shortness of breath In studies with lab animals, research has conclusively confirmed that consuming high doses of MSG causes lesions in the hypothalamus. Young animals that were fed diets high in MSG showed numerous health problems like obesity, malformed organs, abnormal reproductive systems, infertility, unprovoked rage, overt aggression, antisocial behavior, impaired cardiovascular responsiveness, and high triglycerides, cholesterol, and VLDL. Many of these animals also showed signs of an impaired immune system. MSG also forces the pancreas to release insulin. This causes the blood sugar to drop and typically makes one very hungry. This is why it is commonplace for individuals to become hungry only an hour or so after consuming foods high in MSG. Although the FDA requires that the ingredient monosodium glutamate be listed on food labels, it does not require ingredients that contain MSG to be listed as MSG. If we are to avoid MSG, we must avoid the following ingredients as well. The food industry does not want you to know about these ingredients. MSG does not change the actual taste of foods the way substances that are sweet, salty, bitter, or sour do. Instead it alters the taste of food by stimulating the sensation of taste. It is added to foods in the hope that consumers will become addicted. And it is added to foods in many different ways, listed as many different ingredients, in the hope that we will not take the effort to learn its many names. Neuroscientists overwhelmingly agree that MSG is toxic. It kills neurons by exciting them until the neurons die. MSG is an excitotoxin, so it is toxic for everyone, for some more than others. Newborns are four times more sensitive to MSG than adults, and individuals with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, or multiple sclerosis are more sensitive than people without neurodegenerative diseases. Anyone who is sick and trying to heal naturopathically, will have to stop eating MSG. Any parent with a child who exhibits behavior problems needs to find those hidden sources of MSG in their child’s diet and get their kid off of MSG(and every other additive). You’ll see a difference in two weeks or less. The bottom line is this: do you want to eat a food additive that kills your brain cells in addition to doing other damage throughout your body?

This place is amazing. My husband and I came in for a quick bite and we had an amazing meal. We shared a beef fried rice that was so different from any other fried rice we’ve had. There was a sweetness to it. Delish. But the best part was our server, Emily. She was kind, attentive, efficient and friendly while still allowing us to have a nice private dinner. We’ll be back!

Came in here to give it a try based on positive reviews. I feel like I was mislead. I ordered the badger crunch and the shrimp tempura. It didn’t look very appealing when it came. It didn’t taste fresh and it seemed like it was frozen beforehand and thawed out. When I bit into each roll, it didn’t have much taste and all I could taste is excess water when I bit into the roll. Only ate one of each roll, but still had to pay for both even though I was clearly unhappy. The service was good, but definitely won’t be coming back! That one star was for the service.

Love!!! Great spot. The sake-tini is delicious! Got the special Red Moon roll that was enormous and packed with amazing flavors and variety. Very tasty. Sat at the sushi bar and the chef surprised me with a complimentary sashimi that was a scrumptious morsel! Very friendly and responsive servers; they are on it. Would definitely recommend and next time I’m in the area, I’ll be back :)

Nice décor but stared at this huge banner strewn across the top mantel blocking the 2 stone skulls. Banner was advertising specials on Monday and Thursday… very tacky. Ordered the edamame and it was hot, overcooked and soggy. Tsunami sushi roll had very thin slices of tuna and salmon… it looked better in the pictures. Dynamite roll on the menu listed scallops as its first ingredient but was not to be found anywhere. It was sparingly topped off with cooked salmon mushed up in mayo, tasted very fishy and lacked impact. It was horrible. Not coming back.

I dined with a large group last night at around eight o’clock. It was my friend’s birthday, and most of our party have never tried Wasabi. We ordered drinks at the bar while we waited for our table. The bartender could not have been more wonderful. I’m not sure if she was a manager, but she took really good care of us. Overall, the service was on point throughout our stay. I had the Atomic Roll, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a little fire in their belly. It wasn’t painfully spicy but I could feel the heat later on. I also had the Tsunami Roll, and liked it more out of the two. The salmon was smooth as butter, and almost melted in my mouth. The tuna was delightful, as well. It was light in texture, and fresh in taste. I had a couple pieces of the Maiko Roll, and it knocked my socks off. If you’re craving for a more decadent roll, I recommend getting this one. The combination of the cream cheese, tempera, eel sauce, and smoked salmon exploded my taste buds. It seemed like it’d be too much, but it realy worked as a whole. It was so good, it was borderline sinful. And to top off the meal, someone mentioned it was my friend’s birthday, so the staff came out with a bowl of green tea ice cream while every one sang«Happy Birthday». Wasabi did a great job handling my friend’s birthday. The first timers liked it. The regulars were happy. We all enjoyed our meal, and I can tell my friend had a great time. So, thank you, Wasabi. You’re still my favorite.

Came here for the first time with friends. Nice atmosphere. Service was a bit slow but she was still friendly. Ordered dragon roll and California roll. It was very good. The only complaint I would have is that they should provide customers with a golfer’s pencil to fill out the sushi sheets. Other than that everything else was superb.

The crunch roll is amazing! The server was under what was expected. When we asked for more ginger to a server that wasn’t ours he acted like he would do something about it and then after waiting for at least 5 minutes of eating we finally saw our server and asked for the ginger he got it immediately but the other guy never asked our server to get it and he didn’t do anything to get it for us. The food is a little pricey but it was very good. We will definitely be going back there!

I used to be a big fan. great atmosphere and great sushi. However it seems their sushi has declined over the last 1 – 2 years??? chef turnover, new management, not sure… but I’ve found the fish to be not as fresh as in the past, inconsistently made rolls, inconsistent sashimi sizes(2 separate vists = vastly different sizes of sashimi), the last ahi poki i received some of the tuna had portions still frozen, and there was maybe 2 pieces of seaweed and the rest was lettuce greens. I want to love this place — it does have a great atmosphere and fun to go to with friends, and we’re in real need of a good quality sushi restaurant in this area, but it seems to be turning into just another stripmall sushi place

Love the sushi here. The fish is fresh and the chefs are very creative at this place. Love how they are always looking for ways to update their menu. Love the new management team they put in place. I’m not entirely sure why I keep going back to Wasabi. I have never had good meal here, but convenience maybe? Bad indicator #1: The fish tastes fishy, which makes me think it’s not very fresh. Also, the one time I ordered spicy tuna(my favorite at most sushi places!), it was so hot it was inedible. I tell myself every time I go that I’m never going back. Maybe next time I’ll listen to my own advice.

3÷31÷16: I officially throw in the towel on Wasabi. Sigh. I went back for lunch yesterday to give it one more try and the food was as disappointing as ever. First, I will say the service was very good and my food came quickly. But the California Roll really should be called a crab salad roll because it’s a mix of fake crab and mayo, best I can tell. The shrimp tempura was bland. I ended up drenching it all in soy sauce, which certainly isn’t how sushi should be eaten. So I’m done. Sorry, Wasabi, my business is going to your competitors. Stopped here for takeout for lunch on a Friday. Their lunch specials are good — $ 13ish for 3 rolls. The place itself looks really nice and clean. Décor is nice. I got the Spicy Tuna, Shrimp Tempura and Philadelphia roll. The fish was all fresh and cut well. But honestly, I’ve had a lot better. The rice was gummy and there was just way too much of it. The rolls generally lacked a whole lot of flavor too. The Spicy Tuna was plenty spicy but almost overwhelmingly so, you couldn’t really taste the rest of the roll. Overall, pretty disappointed in this place. I’d maybe give it one more try if I’m in the area again, but I won’t keep my hopes up.

Meh. Food: C– We’ve eaten her twice and I have yet to be impressed. I’ve had four different types of Sushi rolls and in general, they have been limp, boring, and tasted a bit stale. The best thing I have eaten her so far has been the Wasabi shumai. Service: A Very friendly, very attentive. In general, very snappy. There are enough sushi-chefs to keep things moving at a good pace. Interior: B+ Very nice, nicer than many of the other newer suburban sushi restaurants. A slight reduction for the bathrooms. They have been less that«sparkling» on both visits. I think they are trying to hide that by limiting the lights to about 12 watts. Value: C– Too expensive for the quality, even when the rolls are discounted Mon-Thursday. Parking: B Plenty of it, but shared with other businesses in the strip mall. Even after two disappointing visits, I’ll probably try it again. Maybe I just need to find the right rolls. It just has to be better than what I’ve had so far.
